In a lot of ways, I support who they decided to kill. It was effective and the scene was just handled so so well. But I do think that they replaced two of the big comic deaths; Ezekiel and Rosita, with another two big deaths of the season; Jesus and Tara. I know Jesus wasn’t piked, but he did die earlier in the season by the Whisperers. For some reason, I always saw Jesus and King Ezekiel to function on the same tier of importance. Like, they were kind of introduced at the same time, and they were both such unique presences that made such a difference to the show during the Negan arc of seasons 6-8. Obviously Henry was kind of a good “replacement” death for Ezekiel, and I’m happy that he’s still here and alive rn (even tho he may die soon, who knows), but Jesus was just so much more important to the overall brand and feel for the show than Henry. I kinda feel the same way about Tara and Rosita, as those two characters were, to me, always kind of holding the same amount of importance. What do you think? Do you think they made the right decisions of axing Jesus and Tara in season 9, instead of Ezekiel and Rosita? I just wonder how the show would feel if those two characters made it, and the show sticked to those comic deaths instead of letting them survive
