Clementine's role in season one was interesting, because its a 8-9 year old who struggles to adapt to the harsh, and brutal world, with walkers being the center of the world. Clem wasn't trained to adapt in the world, but since Lee encourage her to decide choices, that can save someone and/or risk someone, that is sounds good with her, and tutoring her about weapons, and how to use it, Clem can be use to it. However, Clem's personality and choices can also come from Lee's (or do the opposite), but anyways, She learns from survivors she encounter, and raiders she come past. This all can make her do or/and go against what their action was.
Clementine's role in season 2 was odd, because the cabin survivors seem to rely on her choices, and appearantly not come up with their own plans. The player can determine whether her behavior and mental conditions can be use for helpful, kindly purposes which she can use her second thought, or she can use it for rude, impulsive purposes which she don't think twice about her choice, but she can reedem herself (If she acted rude). When she killed "Stranger" (Determined), her confidence about risking one's life to save another (or nobody at all) starts to develope. When she caused Winston's death, her survival instinct starts to kick in. But to the adults, they seem to not have come up with their own ideas, and listens to strangers that can cause someone's death (Arvo caused Bonnie (Determined) and Luke's death).
Clementine's role in season 3 was like her role in season 1, but her survival instinct is really shown. She learned from Javi and his family, how  people thats related/close to another, manage to keep them safe until the end. She thought that maybe she could take care of AJ successfully like how Javi took care of his family, but the thing is that her confidence was decreasing a bit, and her fear was increasing, she lost AJ. She had to shoot some people at the McCarroll Ranch just to get AJ. After Dr. Lingard takes Aj, and Clem is exile, Clem's hostility towards strangers increases. She almsot killed Javi and Rufus, and made threats towards Javi. I can understand her fear had overtoken her confidence, but risking the lives of people (Stealing drugs that people that have injury/disease problems most likely need, and hacked off a tree that can crush both Rufus and Javi, or start a collison) was wrong doings.
Clementine's role in season 4 was a on and off reaction. She appearantly outsmarts any adult. Clem was being forced on us, and was serve as a fan favorite. They wanted us to worship Clem as if she is the center of the world, and whoever tries to kill her, wants us to hate on them. I understand it, but then again, Clem survived close calls (especially those that's suppost to kill her but doesn't), In the beginning, we see her driving a car 3/4 years after the events of season 3. She and Aj were involve in a car collison, that nearly killed them both. AJ's survival instinct was developing and Clementine is aggressive to those that is involve of AJ's absence. After she held Tenn at knife point (determined), She didn't take a second thought about what could have happened to AJ, speculating that AJ was being held captive. After meeting Ruby, and Louis, She found AJ, and is pleased how Louis kept him entertained until Clem arrived. She help scavenge some food supplies, but she met soemone, Abel. She could either thrown him out the window, resulting him being bitten and his amputation (which increases Clem's hostility towards strangers when they held them at gunpoint) or could give him some supplies. Thats when Clementine use her survival instinct, and confidence way too much. During the attack, and kidnapping of several residents, and death of one, Clem is determined to hunt down their kidnappers, and Mitch's killer, Lilly. She can successfully save her friends, and either avenge Mitch's death or don't. Either way, Everyone would remember Clementine as a hero, and a successful guardian of a child.
