The Alexandria Sewer is a location featured in AMC's The Walking Dead.

Pre-Apocalypse[]

This was a sewer system for the at the time planned neighborhood of Alexandria.

Post-Apocalypse[]

Season 6[]

"Now"[]

Aaron shows Maggie a sewage grate, and says the sewer leads underneath the wall. Despite Maggie's protests, he insists on joining her. Once underground, Aaron expresses his guilt over leading the Wolves to Alexandria. He saves Maggie from two walkers that emerge from the sewer muck. Maggie urges him to turn back, as he is bleeding from a wound on his head that will most likely need stitches. However, Aaron refuses and they continue walking through the sewers.

Maggie and Aaron reach the end of the sewage tunnel only to find it blocked with walkers outside. Maggie says they can't keep going, tearfully admitting that she's pregnant. "I don't know if he's alive,' Maggie cries. "I don't get to know what will happen." She and Aaron hug.

Season 8[]

"How It's Gotta Be"[]

Carl evades capture and descends into the sewers.

Daryl, Tara, Rosita, and Dwight descend into the sewers as Alexandria burns.

Rick and Michonne descend into the sewers, joining the surviving Alexandrians in the darkness. Among them is Siddiq. They find Carl, laying on the cold, hard floor, and looking sweaty and tired. Carl lifts his shirt, showing Rick an unmistakable bite on his abdomen, explaining that it happened as he helped Siddiq. Rick and Michonne reel in horror as reality sets in.

"Honor"[]

In a flashback, Carl leads Siddiq down the storm sewer manhole outside Alexandria and explains that he must talk to Rick before bringing Siddiq into their community. Carl and Siddiq set up a cot in the sewer.

In the present, Carl shows his bite wound to Rick and gives him the stack of letters that he wrote to the group. He explains that his bite was not the Saviors' fault and that it happened while he was helping Siddiq.

Siddiq gives Carl medicine and explains that he was a medical resident. Rosita suggests they all flee to the Hilltop while the Saviors destroy Alexandria above ground. Dwight points out that the Saviors will soon run out of ammo and insists they stay put until the siege is over.

Carl urges Rick and Michonne to stop fighting the Saviors. They hear silence above ground. Daryl and Tobin resurface to confirm that the Saviors have indeed left Alexandria.

Rick insists on staying in Alexandria with Carl, who won't make it, while the rest of the group travels to the Hilltop.

Daryl takes Judith so that Michonne can stay with Rick and Carl.

Carl says an emotional farewell to Judith, telling her that sometimes kids must show their parents the way, and gives her his sheriff's hat.

Siddiq vows to honor Carl by showing everyone that his choice to save him mattered.

Rick asks for Michonne's help carrying Carl out of the sewer.

Trivia[]

  • Talking Dead revealed that the two walkers that Maggie and Aaron encountered in the sewer were Alexandrians who were exiled trying to return.
    • Although unconfirmed, it's very likely that these two walkers could be Davidson and/or his two group members as those are the only people to have ever been exiled from Alexandria.
