The following is a transcript of Episode 1: All That Remains of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead: Season 2.

Gas Station

Omid, Clementine, and a visibly pregnant Christa walk up to a nearby gas station.

Omid: What do you think?

Christa: Omid, you can't be serious.

Omid: I am.

Christa: We are NOT doing that.

Omid: Why not?

Christa: Because!

Omid: Come on, Christa. What's wrong with "Omid"?

Christa: We're not calling our baby Omid. One of you is enough. Clementine? A little help here?

Omid: Omid the II.

Christa: No.

Omid: Omid Junior.

Christa: No!

Omid: You have to admit, it has a ring to it.

Christa: Yeah, the ring of an egotistical maniac.

Clementine: Omid is a good name. I like it.

Christa will remember that.

Omid: Thank you, Clementine.

Christa: You always agree with him.

Omid: It's because I'm always right.

Clementine: You two should decide.

Christa will remember that.

Omid: But the vote's deadlocked.

Christa: Yeah, well, my vote counts for two.

Omid: That's not fair.

Christa: Are you going into labor soon? No? Then don't talk to me about fair.

Clementine: What if it's a girl?

Christa will remember that.

Omid: Then we name her Christa.

Christa: But I'm Christa. I don't want to call her Christa. That's just confusing.

Omid: So name her Genevieve. I don't care!

Christa: How can you not care?!

Omid: Hey, you're gonna have to talk to this person for years. You get a vote.

Christa: You're not taking this seriously.

Omid: I take everything seriously. Especially little Omid's future.

Christa: Keep talkin' and you'll be sleeping in the rain tonight. Remember that time in Barstow?

Omid: Vegas weekend.

Christa enters one of the bathrooms.

Omid: Why don't you, uh, get cleaned up in the girl's room, Clem?

Clementine: I hope the sink works in there.

Omid: I wouldn't count on it. Just be careful, and make sure to keep track of your things. We'll be right next door.

Clementine: Okay.

Clementine enters the bathroom.

Clementine: Hello...?

Clementine opens the first bathroom stall.

Clementine: Oh, gross.

Clementine opens the second stall, which contains a bloody stuffed animal.

Clementine: What's that?

Clementine opens the final stall.

Clementine: Phew.

Clementine closes the stall door.

Clementine: Good, no one's here. Guess it's safe to get cleaned up.

Clementine inspects herself in the mirror; her face is smudged with dirt.

Clementine: Ugh.

Clementine sets her backpack on the counter and opens it.

Clementine: Please have water.

Clementine turns on the faucet, but no water comes out.

Clementine: Figures.

Clementine takes out her bottle of water and sets her gun on the counter. She pours some water on a rag and cleans her face.

Clementine: Better.

Clementine accidentally knocks her bottle to the floor and it rolls under a stall.

Clementine: Oh, shit!

Clementine: Oh, shoot!

Clementine can open the first two doors, but the bottle isn't there.

Clementine opens the last stall door and picks up her water bottle.

Clementine: Ew.

Clementine sees the mirror reflecting someone entering the bathroom. Clementine closes the door and stands on the toilet so her feet can't be seen. Michelle picks up Clementine's gun. Clementine partially loses her footing and gasps. Michelle looks through the crack in the door and points the gun at Clem.

Michelle: I see you. Get outta there. Hey, you're not foolin' me. Come on out now.

Clementine: Who are you?

Michelle: None of your business.

Clementine: Are you gonna hurt me?

Michelle: Only if you're stupid.

Clementine: Leave me alone.

Michelle: Don't think I will.

Clementine: Why not?

Michelle: Are you stupid or somethin'?

Clementine: That's my gun.

Michelle: It's mine now.

Clementine: Give it back.

Michelle: Why should I?

Clementine says nothing.

Michelle: (opens stall door) Get out here.

Clementine leaves the stall and puts up her hands; Michelle searches her backpack.

Michelle: You got anything on you? Come on, let's see. I ain't gonna ask again.

Clementine: No, that's all I have.

Michelle: That's it? How'd you make it this long?

Clementine: What's your name?

Michelle: My name? Why do you care?

Clementine: I...I was just wondering.

Michelle: Stupid.

Clementine: You don't have to do this. It's mean.

Michelle: You gotta be mean to keep goin' out here.

Clementine: I'm not mean.

Michelle: Yeah? And who got your gun?

Clementine says nothing.

Michelle: I'm serious! What else you got?

Clementine: That's it...

Michelle: Don't lie to me. I'll pop you. Give me what you got. I'm not screwing around! Come on!

Clementine: Please stop...

Clementine: I don't have anything!

Clementine: Just walk away.

Michelle: Whatever.

Michelle: (sees Clementine look at the door) Don't.

Michelle: Gimme that hat.

Clementine: No...

Michelle: Where'd you get it? I asked you a question.

Clementine: My dad gave it to me.

Michelle: Just give it to me.

Clementine: None of your business.

Michelle: Just give it to me.

Clementine: I killed someone for it.

Michelle: You? Killed? (laughs) Just give it to me.

Clementine takes off her hat.

Michelle: (searching backpack) Junk. Junk. Junk. Look at all this junk. Shit. Shit. And more shit. Why you ain't got nothin' good? Not like the last people I got. They had all kinds of good shit. That was a good catch. You ain't got nothin' good. You just a little fish. You gonna cry, little fish?

Omid enters the bathroom and sneaks toward Michelle.

Michelle: (looking at picture of Lee) This your daddy? What a bozo.

The door shuts and Michelle turns at the noise, accidentally shooting Omid in the chest. Omid clutches his wound and falls to the ground. Christa busts open the door with her rifle and sees Omid.

Michelle: I didn't mean to. I didn't mean to!

Michelle drops the gun and raises her hands.

Michelle: I didn't mean--

Christa shoots Michelle in the stomach.

Christa: Oh, god... Omid. Oh, god... Omid. Omid, can you hear me? Omid.

Christa cries and holds Omid's body.

Forest

16 Months Later

Clementine and Christa sit on a log in the rain, in front of a campfire where they are cooking a weasel. Christa is no longer pregnant.

Clementine: Christa. Talk to me.

Christa sighs, stands up, and tends to the fire.

Christa: This'll never work. Look at this...it's pathetic. The wood's too wet to burn... There's more smoke than flame... At this rate, we'll be eating this for breakfast.

Clementine: It's okay. I can wait.

Christa: All we do is wait. And for what...?

Clementine: Keep trying.

Christa: There's only so much I can do.

Clementine: What else can we do?

Christa: Find something that'll burn, maybe. I dunno. Won't be easy in the dark and in the rain.

Christa: Just our luck...

Christa: You should be doing this, not me. Tending a fire so you can cook and stay warm...it's something you have to be able to do, Clementine. Otherwise...

Clementine: We can't stay in one place too long. It's too dangerous. We need to keep moving.

Christa: All we do, all we have ever done is move. But we never seem to get anywhere.

Clementine: We need to find a group. People we can trust. We've been on our own for too long.

Christa: Trust? You think you can trust someone out here? Not now. Not anymore.

Clementine: We can't build a big fire at night. It attracts too much attention. It's too dangerous when we're out here by ourselves.

Christa: We need to eat, don't we? We can't survive without food.

Clementine: Omid said that...

Christa: I know what Omid said.

Clementine wraps her arms around herself.

Clementine: I'm freezing.

Christa: You think this is bad, wait 'til we get up to Wellington, then talk to me about cold. If we make it. We still have a couple hard months ahead of us. This rain will turn to sleet, then ice, then snow. It won't be easy.

Clementine: Is it safe there...?

Christa: Safer than here because of the cold. or so they say.

Clementine: It'll be better there, right?

Christa: Safer, maybe. So they say. But I don't know.

Clementine: It has to be. I know it will.

Christa: We'll see.

Clementine: Can we make it that far...?

Christa: Maybe. I don't know.

Christa: Wellington's a long way from here.

Christa: We just need to keep moving north.

Christa: We sure as hell can't stay here.

Clementine: I miss Lee.

Christa will remember that.

Christa: I'm sure you do.

Clementine: I wish Omid was here.

Christa will remember that.

Clementine: We need to get to Wellington.

Christa: We'll try the best we can.

Clementine says nothing.

Christa: (sighs) I'm gonna go look for more wood. You just keep the fire lit.

Christa leaves and Clementine opens her backpack. She takes out a photo of Lee, a drawing of Kenny and his family, and a lighter with a pink butterfly on it. She looks at the nearby fire and kneels next to it, igniting a piece of paper and putting it into the fire, making it burn brighter.

Clementine: Better. But still not enough. The flames are too low.

Clementine: The flames aren't high enough.

Clementine: This won't burn.

Clementine: This'll never burn. It's too wet.

Clementine: This'll never cook.

Clementine: This might burn...

Clementine prepares to add fuel to the campfire.

(If Clementine picked up the log.)

Clementine adds the log to the fire and stokes the flames.

Clementine adds the drawing to the fire and stokes the flames.

Clementine takes out the photo, but can't bring herself to burn it.

Clementine hears people talking and follows the noise through the woods.

Winston: Jesus, are you fuckin' kidding me?!

Winston/Victor/Ralph: Out here alone? In the middle of nowhere? But we haven't met anyone yet. How many people are you with?

Winston/Victor/Ralph: Hate to see someone get hurt.

Winston/Victor/Ralph: Now hold on, she's setting you up.

Christa: I'm by myself.

Winston/Victor/Ralph: You're obviously with someone, where's your group?

Clementine finds Christa surrounded by a hostile group.

Winston: Don't fucking lie to us!

Ralph: Who do you think you're foolin'?

Winston: Give us the truth and you don't get hurt.

Ralph: You fuckin' with me? (shoves Christa) Where's the rest of your group?!

Christa: I--I'm by myself.

Victor: Bullshit!

Winston: She's lyin'...

Ralph: (points gun at Christa) Cut the shit, lady.

Christa: It's...it's just me...

Victor: Come on, guys! (points gun at Christa) She's not saying!

Ralph: You expect us to believe you're out here all alone?!

Clementine throws a rock at Winston's face.

Winston: What the fuck...?

Clementine: CHRISTA, RUN!

Ralph: Who the fuck do you think you're foolin'?

Winston: (sees Clementine) Lyin' bitch... (stabs Christa in the leg with spear)

Christa: Clementine, RUN!

Christa tries to run but is presumably caught, as sounds of a scuffle can be heard.

Winston: Hey...!

Clementine runs, chased by Winston. A gunshot is heard in the distance.

Winston: Get the fuck over here! NOW!

Clementine hides behind a tree.

Winston: Motherfucker! Come out here, girl. I'm not fucking around. Look, girl, ain't no way you're smart enough to get outta this. Just come out.

Clementine runs, and Winston chases her.

Winston: Shit! Get the fuck over here!

Clementine crawls under a tree and then continues running.

Winston: Goddamn it!

Winston knocks Clementine over and drags her along by her foot.

Winston: Damn it, quit struggling! Come! On! Just--fuckin'--god, if you aren't a FUCKIN' pain in the ass!

Clementine picks up a nearby rock and smashes Winston's hand. He holds his hand in pain as Clementine runs away.

Winston: Ah, fuck! Shit!

Winston sees Clementine; she tries to run away, but he knocks her over and drags her along by her foot.

Winston: Man, this is such SHIT. Come! On! Just--fuckin'--god, if you aren't a FUCKIN' pain in the ass!

Clementine picks up a nearby rock and smashes Winston's hand. He holds his hand in pain as Clementine runs away.

Winston: Ah, fuck! Shit!

Clementine dodges past a walker.

Winston: Fuck!

Winston kicks the walker's knee and stomps on its head. Clementine breaks a branch off a fallen tree.

She steps aside as he charges forward, then stabs him in the shoulder with the branch.

Winston: Jesus, are you fuckin' kidding me?!

Winston knocks Clementine over; she kicks him but he drags her along by her leg.

Winston: Just give me a gun, just give me a fuckin' gun, you fuckin' mongrel, just--

Clementine kicks Winston's hand and he releases her.

Winston: Ah, fuck!

Clementine continues running, but stops when she reaches the edge of a riverbank. Winston grabs her.

Clementine: LEAVE ME ALONE!

Winston: Then stop fucking running! Quit squirming!

Clementine bites Winston's hand.

Winston: Ahhh! Fuuuck! Aahh! Ow, let go, you little bitch, Jesus Christ!

Winston releases Clementine and she crawls into a hollow log.

Winston: Come out of there!

Winston grabs Clementine's leg and she kicks him. He drags her backward and she grabs onto a nearby tree.

Winston: Jesus, are you fuckin' kidding me?! Come on, girl.

Winston pulls Clementine away from the tree.

Winston throws her to the ground.

Winston grabs Clementine's wrists and she tries to kick him away.

Winston: Kid, you are on my LAST fucking nerve! Stop fucking kicking!

Clementine kicks Winston backward, and the walker nearby grabs him.

Winston: No! Shit!

Another walker grabs Clementine's arm. She breaks free, ripping off the walker's arm. She steps aside as a walker approaches, and it attacks Winston, ripping out his throat. Clementine runs through the woods, dodging more walkers. She trips and falls, then picks up a nearby rock and throws it at one of the walkers. She moves backward and falls off the cliff into the river below. In the morning, she wakes up on a riverbank.

Clementine: Hello?!

The canoe says "JR. TANUKI'S KIDS CAMP" and is split in two, the other half stuck on some rocks in the river.

Clementine jumps and grabs the top ledge of the broken stairs, pulling herself up.

Clementine: Christa, are you there?

Clementine looks sadly at the grave made of sticks.

The walker has a sign impaled in its head.

Clementine walks along the trail ahead.

The sign says:

YOU MAY ENCOUNTER:
BLACK BEARS
COYOTES
MOUNTAIN LIONS
POISONOUS SNAKES
OR OTHER SPECIES
BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS

Clementine climbs over the fallen tree in her path. She continues walking, eventually hearing the bushes rustle, discovering a dog. He growls at her.

Clementine: It's okay, boy, it's okay...

Clementine: (checks collar) "Sam". Well, nice to meet you, Sam.

Clementine: So, where are your owners? They around? If they are, I hope they're nice.

Clementine: Do you know where we are, boy? Hm? A lot of help you are.

Clementine pets Sam and he growls.

Clementine: Okay. You don't like that. Got it. Sorry.

Clementine says nothing.

Sam walks a short distance away and sniffs the ground.

Clementine: What's he doing?

Sam barks and runs off.

Clementine: Sam. Sam!

Clementine: Hey, what'd you find, boy?

Clementine: Where are you going? Wait up!

Clementine follows Sam to a campsite.

Campsite

Clementine: Hello?! Looks pretty run over...but you never know. Let's look around for some food.

Clementine: Looks like it's been here for a while.

Clementine finds a photo of Sam and his family.

Clementine: Looks like they were a happy family once.

Clementine: I hope they left some food behind somewhere.

Clementine: (picks up doll) Hm. Nothing edible. (tosses doll back)

Clementine: Think anyone's been sleeping in here? I can't tell. Maybe we better not wait around to find out.

Clementine: It's not much of a tent anymore. I bet scavengers tore it apart.

Clementine: Hey! Wanna play? Wanna play catch?

Clementine: Fine. It's your decision. Do what you think is right.

Clementine throws the disc and Sam catches it.

Clementine: Okay, bring it back!

Sam drops it in front of Clem.

Clementine: Good boy, Sam.

Clementine: Good boy, good boy.

Clementine: Wanna go again?

Clementine throws the disc and Sam catches it. Clem claps for him. Sam drops it in front of Clem.

Clementine: I bet you missed this. I sure do.

Clementine: Let's go one more time! Go get it, boy!

Clementine throws the disc, but it goes too far and disappears. Sam whines.

Clementine: Darn. It was good while it lasted, though, right? Yeah, you're right. Shouldn't waste the energy anyway.

Clementine: Empty.

Clementine: Better keep looking, huh, Sam?

Clementine: Better keep looking, boy.

Clementine: Gotta check everywhere...

Clementine lets Sam sniff her hand, and then pets him.

Clementine: There you go... I'm not gonna hurt you...

Clementine: No food here, either.

Clementine: Please let there be something good in there.

Clementine opens the cooler and quickly closes it again.

Clementine: Ugh! God!

Clementine: No food on the grill, nothing in the cooler... Ugh! I hate scavengers! They take EVERYTHING!

Clementine: I am SO sick of that smell.

Talk to Sam

Clementine: Find anything yet?

Clementine searches the trash barrel.

Clementine: Well...here we go...

Clem rolls up her sleeves and digs in the trash, finding a can of beans.

Clementine: Oh, my god...thank you!

Clementine: Look, Sam, a can!

Clementine: Look! A can!

Clementine: Let's see what's inside!

Clementine: Now I just need...something to open it with.

Clementine approaches one side of the camp, and Sam barks.

Clementine: What's the matter, Sam?

Clementine: Hey, boy. What's the matter?

Sam continues barking.

Clementine: Shh! We have to be quiet.

Clementine approaches Sam/tries to talk to him and sees that he's barking at a walker tied to a tree.

Clementine: It's okay. He's dead. Look, you can see the bite. Looks like he tried to cut it out.

Clementine: But that never works. Ever.

Clementine: It's okay. We're smart and he's not. We're smarter than all of them.

Clementine: Hey, it's okay, boy, shhhh. He can't hurt us. Think he had himself tied up, or did someone force him to do this?

Clementine: That looks like it hurt.

Clementine: I bet we could open the can with that, though.

The walker tries to grab Clem.

Clementine picks up a nearby branch.

Clementine: Stand back, okay?

Clementine repeatedly smashes the walker's head with the branch until it dies.

Clementine: See...we just have to stay out of their reach.

Clementine: Poor guy.

Clementine: I like to think that...if they were alive, they'd probably want to help you. (searches pocket) Nothing.

Clementine grabs the knife and wipes off the blood.

Clementine: Still pretty sharp.

Clementine: Okay, well, now we're getting somewhere.

Clementine: At least we found SOMETHING useful. We won't go another night without food, okay?

Clementine sits on a log, holding the knife and can of beans.

Clementine: Please don't be bad.

Clem cuts the can open.

Clementine: Thank god...

Clementine eats the food with her hands. Sam sits down and whines.

Clementine: Look, there's barely enough for me, okay? Go find your own food.

Clementine: Hey, don't beg. I'll give you whatever's left, okay?

Clementine: I guess you're pretty hungry too.

Clementine holds out some of the food.

Clementine: Here ya go.

Sam lunges at her hand and she drops the can. He tries to eat the beans from the can.

Clementine: Hey, don't eat it all.

Clementine picks up the can.

Clementine says nothing.

Sam jumps up and bites Clementine's arm, dragging her to the ground.

Clementine punches Sam in the face.

Clementine grabs the can and hits Sam with it.

Clementine grabs the knife and stabs Sam in the snout.

Sam takes a few steps back, then lunges at Clem again, and she kicks him backward. She takes the knife and walks over to him, where she discovers he is impaled with several metal spikes. He whines and flails, trying to get free.

Clementine kneels down, holding the knife.

Clementine: I'm...I'm sorry, Sam.

Clementine: I'm...sorry.

Clementine stabs Sam in the throat, killing him.

Clementine walks away as Sam whines in agony.

Clementine: I'm sorry.

Clementine rolls down her sleeves to hide the bite and leaves the camp.

Forest

Clementine continues walking through the woods. Clem whimpers in pain and exhaustion and sits down, leaning against a rock. Her vision becomes blurry. Walkers start to approach and she gets up, trying to escape. One walker knocks her over and she tries to push it away; suddenly, it is decapitated by someone with a machete. Someone else fires a crossbow at the other walkers.

Pete: I'm out! Grab her, let's go!

Luke: Come on, kid. We gotta get.

Luke picks up Clementine and they run through the forest past the approaching walkers. Once they outrun the threat, they slow down.

Pete: I think...I think we're safe.

Luke: Yeah...yeah, we're good. Hey, you alright...?

Clementine: I'm fine, just...let me be.

Luke: Oh, is that so? 'Cause last time I saw, you could barely crawl away from that lurker back there. Look, you're in bad shape, kid.

Clementine: I...I think so.

Clementine: I can walk.

Luke: Oh, is that so? 'Cause last time I saw, you could barely crawl away from that lurker back there. Look, you're in bad shape, kid.

Luke: Okay. I'll take that as a no.

Pete: What are you doing out here?

Luke: Where are the, uh...the people you're with? There's no chance you made it this long on your own.

Pete: I don't want them thinkin' we're doin' anything but tryin' to help you. Hmm...not sure how the group is gonna feel about another mouth to feed.

Clementine: I'm alone. Everyone I know is gone. It's just me now.

They will remember that.

Luke: I'm sorry to hear that.

Pete: I just lost a sister...we've all lost folks.

Clementine: I got separated from my friend and got lost.

They will remember that.

Luke: Well, if he's nearby, then maybe we'll come across him.

Clementine: I...I don't think she is.

Luke: I'm sorry to hear that.

Clementine: My friend and I got attacked.

They will remember that.

Pete: Hmm...these folks mention what they were after?

Clementine: They might've just wanted food. We were cooking some sort of weasel.

Luke: They attacked you for a weasel...? Damn. That is low. They didn't mention any names, right...? They weren't searching for anybody?

Pete: Hmm.

Luke: I hate to break this to you, kid, but, uh...I'm an expert at talking to girls who don't want to talk to me.

Pete: Well, you've got plenty of practice.

Luke: Pete. C'mon, man. I don't need yer help.

Luke: Well... I'm Luke, and this is Pete.

Pete: Hey there.

Clementine: Hi. I'm Clementine.

Luke: It's nice to meet you, Clementine. For now, we're gonna take you back to our group, okay? We got a doctor with us, and you look like you could use some--OH, SHIT!

Luke notices the blood on Clementine's sleeve and drops her.

Pete: What? What is it?

Luke: She's...she's been bit, man. FUCK! Fuck, fuck, fuck...what are we gonna do here...?

Pete: Hmm...

Clementine: No! It was a dog!

Pete: I didn't see any dog, Clementine.

Luke: Come on, kid. Look, we just saw you with those lurkers back there!

Pete: I can't remember the last time I saw a dog.

Luke: So what do we do now?!

Clementine: It was! I swear!

Pete: Swearing doesn't make something so.

Clementine: No, no, no, no! I'm telling you the truth! Please.

Clementine: No! No, just look at it! Please!

Luke: Yeah, and have you sink your teeth into Pete's neck? No way.

Pete: My neck? Why am I the one?

Luke: 'Cause I don't know a dog bite from a mosquito bite from a lurker bite, man.

Clementine: It's not!

Clementine: No! It really was a dog! Please believe me.

Luke: Look, I want to, kid...but I gotta believe my own two eyes first...and I didn't see no dog around.

Clementine: No! It was from before!

Clementine says nothing.

Pete: Hmm...alright. Let's see it.

Luke: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey, watch yourself. Hey, don't look at me like that! You're the one that's bit here, okay?

Pete rolls up Clementine's sleeve.

Clementine: See?

Luke: Is it, uh...is it like she says?

Pete: Hmm...well, could be a dog. Hard to say. So where'd this "dog" go? The one that did this.

Luke: Now what...what does this matter, Pete? Seriously.

Pete: I wanna know how believable her story is.

Clementine: I...I killed it.

Luke: What? Really? A dog shows up and bites you and you just kill it?

Pete: What would you have done?

Luke: I don't know!

Clementine: It attacked me!

Luke: Still...you don't...you don't kill dogs.

Clementine: He...he ran off.

Luke: So a dog runs up, bites you, and then runs off. Just some asshole dog in the forest.

Clementine: It wanted my food!

Pete: What, did you expect it to stick around?

Luke: I don't know!

Clementine: I...I don't know.

Luke: So a dog runs up, bites you, and then just disappears? Just some magical asshole dog in the forest?

Clementine: It wanted my food!

Pete: What, did you expect it to stick around?

Luke: I don't know!

Luke: If you don't know, just say you don't know. Okay? Otherwise, it seems like you're hiding something from us.

Pete: Clementine? You tellin' us the truth? You look me in the eyes when you answer.

Clementine: Yes...

Pete: Hmm. Alright, Clementine. That's good enough for me.

Luke: Well, what else was she gonna say?

Clementine: Of course I am!

Pete: Hmm. Alright, Clementine. That's good enough for me.

Luke: Well, what else was she gonna say?

Clementine: What do you think?

Pete: Hmm. Alright, Clementine. That's good enough for me.

Luke: What?! Wait, that's not even an answer.

Pete: She doesn't like someone calling her a liar. I wouldn't like it either.

Pete: Hmm. Alright, Clementine. That's good enough for me.

Luke: What? Look, she didn't even say anything!

Pete: She doesn't like someone calling her a liar.

Pete will remember that.

Pete: I've got a good bullshit detector, Luke. That's why you can never beat me at poker.

Luke: (scoffs) You don't always beat me at... Alright, how can you be sure?

Pete: Well, I'm sure I ain't willing to leave a little girl in the woods to die when we got a doctor with us that can make a call. We can have Carlos take a look at it first.

Luke: Nick ain't gonna like this...not with what happened to--

Pete: You don't have to remind me of that, boy.

Luke: Right. Sorry, sir.

Pete pats Luke's shoulder.

Pete: Come on. Clementine, are you feelin' alright...?

Clementine: I'm fine...just...tired.

Luke: Well, you better be fine. 'Cause I ain't carryin' you anymore with that bite on your arm.

Clementine: Don't worry about...

Luke: Ah, shit...

Clementine passes out.

Cabin

Clementine regains consciousnesses some time later.

Nick: Don't you tell me that! Not with what fuckin' happened.

Rebecca: Would someone mind telling me what the FUCK is going on here?

Pete: Now hold on, Rebecca.

Nick: We got this, don't worry.

Rebecca: Like hell you do. Did anyone even think to ask where she came from? For all we know, she could be working with Carver!

Pete: She already told us that she and her friend were attacked. Then she was bitten by a dog.

Pete: She told us that she was out there alone. She was bit by a dog.

Pete: She already told us she was with a friend and then got lost. She was bit by a dog.

Pete: Look, all I know is that there was a little girl in trouble. We couldn't just leave her there. And she said she was bitten by a dog.

Rebecca: What? And you just believed her? You should've put her out of her misery right there. Dog bite, my ass.

Clementine: I'm not wor--

Nick accidentally fires at the ground near Clementine.

Alvin: What the...?

Pete takes the gun away from Nick.

Pete: Keep your finger off the trigger, boy!

Clementine: Just let m--

Clementine: I need a do--

Nick accidentally fires at the ground near Clementine.

Alvin: What the...?

Pete takes the gun away from Nick.

Pete: Keep your finger off the trigger, boy!

Clementine starts to run away.

Nick: HEY!

Nick accidentally fires at the ground near Clementine. She stops running and returns to the group. Pete takes the gun away from Nick.

Pete: You're lucky my nephew can't shoot for shit.

Rebecca: Damn it, do I have to be the man around here?!

Rebecca reaches for Nick's gun.

Nick: Now, wait a sec!

Nick accidentally fires at the ground near Clementine.

Alvin: What the...?

Pete takes the gun away from Nick.

Pete: Keep your finger off the trigger, boy!

Luke opens the door and runs outside to join the rest of the group.

Luke: Whoa! Whoa! What the fuck?!

Rebecca: You idiot! Every lurker for five miles probably heard that!

Nick: You're the one tellin' me to fuckin' shoot her!

Alvin: Everybody just calm down for a second!

Luke: Clementine, you okay...?

Clementine: I'm not...I'm not working for anyone... I don't know what you're talking about. I just need help.

Clementine: I just need a doctor...and then...and then I'll go. I don't want my arm to get infected.

Nick: None of us want to get infected. That's the point.

Clementine: Just let me go...if you don't want to help me, then...then I'll leave. Look, I'm sorry I bothered you.

Luke: Alright, we'll talk about it later.

Nick: She tried to run, man.

Luke: Well, Nick, can you really fuckin' blame her?

Clementine nods.

Luke: We got a doctor right here, okay? He'll have a look. Now what the hell is wrong with you people?! Okay, she's just scared!

Rebecca: We're all scared, Luke. Don't act like we're the ones being irrational 'cause we don't buy this bullshit story.

Nick: No way she survived out here on her own! Why are we even arguing about this?!

Carlos joins the group.

Carlos: Let me take a look.

Luke: It's okay. Go ahead. He's a doctor.

Clementine rolls up her sleeve.

Alvin: Damn, that must've hurt.

Carlos inspects the wound.

Carlos: Hmm. Whatever it was, it got you good.

Nick: This isn't how we do things, man. When you're bit, you get put down. End of story. I'm not going through this again.

Luke: No one's suggestin' that.

Pete: We could take her arm off. (Clementine gasps) I know that worked for a cousin down in Ainsworth. We could try that.

Rebecca: It won't do any good. You'll just be makin' it worse for the girl.

Alvin: It's crazy. No one's gonna volunteer to do that.

Pete: I would. If it means saving her life.

Nick: Then what? How would we know it worked?

Luke: Just let Carlos have a look first!

Who will you appeal to?

Clementine: You're right. You shouldn't jump to any conclusions. You don't want to do something you're gonna regret.

Clementine: You don't want to do something you're gonna regret. Better to be sure, right?

Clementine: I'm just a little girl. I'm not gonna hurt anyone.

Clementine stares sadly at Pete.

Clementine says nothing.

Pete will remember that.

Pete: C'mon...she weighs about as much as a sack of flour. We could take her if it comes to that.

Clementine: You seem pretty smart. You want to be sure about this, right? You don't want to do something you're gonna regret.

Clementine: I just want to fix my arm to stop the bleeding. I'm not gonna hurt anyone.

Clementine: I'm just a little girl. I'm not gonna hurt anyone.

Clementine stares sadly at Alvin.

Clementine says nothing.

Alvin will remember that.

Clementine: I promise you it was just a dog bite. That's all it was.

Clementine: You're being ridiculous. I'm just a little girl. I'm not gonna hurt anyone.

Clementine: Everyone else agrees--you should be sure about this. You don't want to be responsible if you're wrong, do you?

Clementine: Please. I'm just a little girl. You can't just kill me when you don't know for sure.

Clementine glares at Nick.

Nick: What're you looking at...?

Clementine says nothing.

Nick will remember that.

Nick: This is bullshit.

Clementine: I know you're skeptical, but, please, just trust me.

Clementine: You're in charge, right? You have to believe me. Tell them to help me.

Clementine: You're gonna have a kid soon, right? What if I was your daughter?

Rebecca: That's the point, kid. You ain't.

Clementine stares sadly at Rebecca.

Clementine says nothing.

Rebecca will remember that.

Rebecca: I ain't fallin' for that shit, little girl. If it was up to me, you'd be dead already.

Clementine: You're right. You want to be sure about this before you do something you might regret.

Clementine: You're in charge around here, right? You want to be sure about something like this.

Clementine: You want to be sure, right? You don't want to do something you're gonna regret.

Clementine stares sadly at Luke.

Clementine says nothing.

Luke will remember that.

Luke: I'm on your side, kid. No need for a guilt trip.

Clementine: I'm just a little girl. I'm not gonna hurt anyone.

Clementine: I just want to fix my arm to stop the bleeding. I'm not gonna hurt anyone.

Clementine: You're a doctor, right? Aren't you supposed to help people that are hurt?

Clementine stares sadly at Carlos.

Clementine says nothing.

Carlos will remember that.

Clementine: I promise you it was just a dog bite. That's all it was.

Carlos: We'll know soon enough, young lady.

Clementine says nothing.

Sarah opens the door.

Sarah: Who's she?

Carlos: Sarah? What'd I say? Stay inside.

Sarah closes the door.

Clementine: I don't mean to cause any trouble. I just wanted to find help. But if you let me go, I promise you'll never see me again.

Carlos: And where exactly would you go?

Clementine: To find help somewhere else, if I can.

Clementine: To find my friend Christa.

Nick: Forget it. You won't get five feet.

Clementine: I can take care of myself.

Rebecca: Clearly.

Clementine says nothing.

Clementine: It really, really hurts. And it's only gonna get worse.

Carlos: A dog, you say?

Clementine: Do you think it could've had rabies?

Carlos: Out here...? Who knows. Right now, that's the least of your concerns.

Clementine: I don't mean to be any trouble. I just want to stop the bleeding and then I'll go. You'll never see me again, I promise.

Carlos: A dog. Hmmm. Could be.

Pete: Look, I dunno what the hell took a bite outta her, but still...she's just a kid. Worst case, she turns and we can deal with it.

Alvin: I'm no doctor or nothin', and I'm good with whatever you decide, but maybe we should be sure before we go off and do something crazy. I'm just sayin'.

Nick: Carlos, we've been through this before. We all agreed--we don't wait for shit like this. End of story.

Rebecca: Don't look to me, girl. I want nothing to do with you.

Luke: Look, I may be in the minority here, but my gut tells me she's telling the truth. It probably is just a dog bite. Probably...

Carlos: I understand you're scared, and I feel terrible delaying treatment, but we've gotta be sure.

Carlos gets up and returns to the group.

Alvin: So? What do'you think?

Nick: Was it a lurker?

Carlos: A bite like that...could be anything. Only one way to find out.

Pete: How?

Carlos: We wait.

Rebecca: What?!

Carlos: By tomorrow morning, if the fever's set in, we'll know if she's gonna turn. In the meantime, we can lock her in the shed.

Clementine: What about my arm...? It needs to get cleaned, and stitched, and bandaged...

Luke: The girl is in bad shape, Carlos.

Alvin: We have all that stuff inside the cabin, we could probably get by with...

Rebecca: ALVIN, please...

Alvin: But, yeah, we can't do nothing.

Carlos: I'm not wasting supplies on a lurker bite. If it turns out you're telling the truth, I'll clean it and stitch it up for you in the morning.

Clementine: But...

Carlos walks away.

Luke: I'm sorry. It's the best we're gonna get.

Pete offers the rifle to Nick, and he grabs it out of his hands.

Pete: Finger off the trigger, son.

Nick: I ain't your son.

Luke: Don't be like that, man.

Pete: It's alright. Boy's got his mom's temper.

Nick: Come on.

Nick, Luke, and Clementine walk away.

Rebecca: This is just a waste of time. You'll see. And when she turns, I ain't gonna be the one cleanin' up the shed.

Clementine: My arm REALLY hurts.

Luke: I don't know what to tell you, except hold out the best you can. We'll see what we can do in the morning.

Clementine: If I make it until then. Maybe you could get me some supplies...?

Luke: I wish I could. I really do. But it's too risky. Sorry.

Clementine: Maybe you could let me go...?

Luke: I wish I could. I really do. But it's too risky. Sorry.

Clementine: It was a dog, you'll see.

Luke: I guess we'll find out in the morning.

Clementine: If I last that long. Maybe you could go look for it...?

Luke: I wish I could. I really do. But it's too risky. Sorry.

Luke: Look, hold out the best you can, Clementine. And we'll see what's what in the morning.

The group reaches the shed; Luke opens the door and exchanges a sad glance with Clementine. She walks into the shed and Luke closes the doors behind her.

Shed

Nick: Why are we doing this? It's so fucking dumb.

Luke: Because it's safer this way. And I'd rather be sure.

Nick: Yeah, but safer for who?

Clementine: I can't believe this... You're gonna be fine, you're gonna be fine.

There is nothing useful in the barrel.

Clementine looks at the anchor.

Clementine shrugs.

Clementine looks at the vice.

The board is empty of tools.

Clementine tries to pry the board, but it doesn't work.

Clementine tries to pull the board with her hand, but it doesn't work.

Clementine can't reach the hammer.

Clementine searches the tackle box.

Clementine: Not much left in here...

Clementine find fishing line.

Clementine: I guess if I have to, I can use this for stitches.

Clementine unfolds the table and climbs onto it. She reaches for the hammer, but the shelf collapses. She lifts it up and takes the hammer beneath it. She uses the hammer to pry open the board, and she kicks the panel open. She crawls through the hole in the wall and notices a nearby walker.

Clementine: They have a doctor...he's gotta have stuff for stitches.

Clementine: It's pretty safe in there...it'll be a good place to stitch up my arm.

Clementine sneaks up to the house.

Find a way into the cabin and obtain a needle, peroxide and some bandages.

Cabin

Rebecca: It makes me feel like a fucking idiot when we're not on the same page.

Alvin: We ARE on the same page!

Rebecca: Not out there, we weren't! Not about the girl! I saw you get soft!

Alvin: What do you want me to do, Bec? Put a bullet in her?

Rebecca: I want you to think about our family FIRST.

Alvin: It's all I think about. So don't give me any shit.

Rebecca: I need some air.

Rebecca leaves the room.

Clementine looks at Alvin.

Clementine knocks on the glass, and Alvin opens the window.

Alvin: What the hell are you doing?

Clementine: I'm not gonna hurt anyone.

Alvin: Yeah, but you're gonna get me in trouble.

Clementine: Please. I need to fix my arm.

Clementine: You left me in the shed.

Alvin: Because you got bit!

Clementine: Will you please help me...? I need to fix my arm.

Clementine: I--I need your help.

Alvin: Me...? No. I'm sorry, but I can't do nothin'.

Clementine: Please. I need to fix my arm.

Alvin: I can't be seen talkin' to you.

Alvin: Are you out of your mind? Even if you ain't bitten by some lurker--which you probably are--you can't BE here. You gotta get out of here, you understand? Get back into that shed and Carlos'll take care of you in the morning. Damn it, girl. Go.

Clementine: I can tell you're nice.

Alvin: I ain't nice.

Clementine: Yes, you are.

Alvin will remember that.

Alvin: Don't you do that. I see what you're doing.

Clementine: I'm sorry I bothered you.

Alvin: You should be.

Clementine: (sadly) I don't have anyone who will help me...

Alvin will remember that.

Alvin: Come on, now. Don't get upset. Don't get like that. Come on.

Clementine: You'd just let me die?

Alvin: I wouldn't let you do nothing. It's not my call. We're a group.

Clementine: But you could help. And if you don't, isn't that the same?

Alvin will remember that.

Alvin: I don't know, alright?

Alvin: Damn it, girl. You're gonna get me in trouble.

Alvin: I'm serious, you need to get out of here.

Clementine: I saw when everyone was arguing--you wanted to help.

Alvin: You didn't see anything. Look--you gotta get outta here before my wife finds you. I'm serious, you gotta go. I got enough problems already. We got a baby on the way, Rebecca's all emotional, got a mess of hormones causing all sorts of trouble. I don't need any more, get it? Now GO.

Clementine: I don't want to get you in trouble.

Alvin: I'm ALREADY in trouble just talkin' to you.

Clementine: Sorry I bothered you.

Alvin: Yeah, well, I'm sorry about your damn arm. Wish I could help you, but...try not to die.

Alvin closes the window and leaves.

Clementine: No one else will help me.

Alvin: For good reason.

Clementine: I'm just a little girl.

Alvin: I'm screwed if anyone finds out I did this. You understand?

Clementine: I could really use your help.

Alvin: I'm screwed if anyone finds out I did this. You understand?

Alvin: Fine, I'll do it.

Clementine: Really?

Alvin: Look at you standing there; a big mess. Yeah, I'll do it.

Clementine: Thank you.

Alvin: What do you need?

Clementine: The b...the cut on my arm needs to be cleaned and stitched.

Alvin: Stitched? I ain't doin' that.

Clementine: I'll figure it out on my own.

Alvin: Alright, look... I don't know what I can find. We're short on bandages, but I might be able to find something clean that would work.

Clementine: I need something to clean out with, and a needle and thread could help, too.

Alvin: I don't even know where to look. Carlos has medical supplies on lockdown, and we don't got much these days.

Clementine: Well, whatever you can get. I'll find the rest on my own.

Alvin: Okay. Wait here.

Alvin leaves and returns shortly afterward.

Alvin: I found you some bandages. (gives bandages) And I, uh...I got you a juicebox. In case you're thirsty. (gives juicebox)

Clementine: Thank you.

Carlos: Alvin, house meeting in five minutes.

Alvin: O--okay. Thanks. Now you need to go.

Alvin closes the window and leaves.

You need a needle and peroxide.

Clementine: It would be bad if she knew you were talking to me.

Alvin: Damn right it would be.

Clementine: I don't want to have to tell her.

Alvin: Motherfucker...

Clementine: Hey, language.

Alvin: You little...getting yourself up in my business.

Clementine: I just need help. And you don't need any trouble.

Clementine: Just forget it. I'm sorry I asked. Really.

Alvin: Good. Then get out of here. I'm sorry about your arm. Try not to die.

Alvin closes the window and leaves.

Clementine: I wouldn't actually do that.

Alvin will remember that.

Alvin: Damn right you wouldn't.

Clementine: I don't have too many options, though. I just need the supplies.

Alvin: Shit.

Clementine: Just supplies.

Alvin: Okay, fine, fine. Like what, bandages...?

Clementine: Do it or I'll tell her.

Alvin will remember that.

Alvin: You're a real piece of work.

Clementine: I don't have any choice.

Alvin: Fine. You treat people like this, you ain't gonna have ANYONE. IF you live.

Clementine: What else could I do?

Alvin: Leave me the hell alone. I'll do what I can, but I'm not promising anything.

Clementine: Thank you.

Alvin: Don't you thank me. You just be far the fuck away from here when you turn. What do you need?

Clementine: I need you to hurry. I'm really hurt.

Alvin: I said I'd do it, didn't I? You don't need to get pushy.

Alvin: Fuck that. I'm not takin' threats from some little girl. Deal with it yourself. Try not to die.

Alvin closes the window.

Alvin: You just be far the fuck away from here when you turn. What do you need?

Clementine: The b...the cut on my arm needs to be cleaned and stitched.

Alvin: Stitched? I ain't doin' that.

Clementine: I'll figure it out on my own.

Clementine: Thank you.

Carlos: Alvin, house meeting in five minutes.

Alvin: O--okay. Thanks. Now you need to go.

Alvin closes the window and leaves.

You need a needle and peroxide.

Clementine: (pleadingly) Please help. Please...

Alvin: Don't cry.

Clementine: I'm not gonna cry. I'm just...tired.

Alvin: You're not with Carver...?

Clementine: No.

Alvin: And you didn't get bit by a dead person?

Clementine: No.

Clementine: I'll do anything I can to help your situation. Anything.

Alvin: Except leave me alone.

Clementine: Yeah, I guess.

Alvin: I'm screwed if anyone finds out I did this. You understand?

Clementine: I won't forget that you helped me.

Alvin: I bet you won't.

Clementine: Promise.

Alvin: I'm screwed if anyone finds out I did this. You understand?

Clementine: Just forget it. I'm sorry I asked. Really.

Alvin: Good. Then get out of here. I'm sorry about your arm. Try not to die.

Alvin closes the window and leaves.

Alvin: Fine, I'll do it.

Clementine: Really?

Alvin: Look at you standing there; a big mess. Yeah, I'll do it.

Clementine: Thank you.

Clementine: Thank you.

Carlos: Alvin, house meeting in five minutes.

Alvin: O--okay. Thanks. Now you need to go.

Alvin closes the window and leaves.

You need a needle and peroxide.

Alvin: Good. Glad you get it.

Alvin closes the window.

Clementine can't open the door.

Clementine can't open the door.

Clementine can't open the window.

Clementine: Come on!

Clementine can't open the window.

Clementine: Ow! I think it's getting worse.

Clementine can't reach the window.

Clementine can't reach the window.

Clementine can't open the window.

Clementine: Of course.

Clementine looks at the plywood.

Clementine tries to pull the plywood, but fails. She uses the hammer to remove the nails, and then moves the plywood. She walks underneath the foundation of the house.

Carlos: House meeting in five minutes.

Alvin: That's...that's great.

Carlos: It won't take long. There's a few things we need to discuss.

Alvin: Fine.

Clementine reaches a trapdoor.

Clementine tries to open the door, but can't.

Clementine tries to open the door, but can't.

Clementine uses her knife to open the trapdoor, but the blade breaks. She enters the house.

Carlos: I've already made my decision.

Pete: Well, Luke has more to say, I guess. Where's Sarah?

Carlos: She's got her book. She doesn't need to be a part of this.

Clementine opens the door and enters the living room.

Clementine exits the house.

The table has books, candles, and playing cards.

Rebecca: For all we know, she could be connected with Carver.

Luke: Come on. There's no way.

Alvin: She could be. We don't know.

Nick: She's connected to somebody. There's no way she's out here by herself.

Pete: She said she was with a friend and they got attacked.

Nick: Yeah, right.

Pete: She said that she got lost and is all alone.

Nick: Yeah, right.

Pete: She said she's out here alone.

Nick: Yeah, right.

Carlos: Whoever she's with, they'll probably come looking for her.

Alvin: Great. They show up and we've got her locked in the shed.

Rebecca: You think we should bring her in here...?

Alvin: No. I'm just saying it wouldn't look too good.

Carlos: It's just a precautionary measure. Anyone else would do the same.

Luke: You really think Carver would come after us...?

Nick: You think he wouldn't...?!

Pete: He's not exactly the type to let things lie.

Luke: What happened, happened. There's nothing we can do about it now.

Alvin: Let him come. I really don't give a damn.

Rebecca: Alvin!

Alvin: What? I don't.

Nick: You brought her back here, not me. You knew she was bit.

Luke: What was I supposed to do, huh? Leave her out there to die?

Nick: Better her than us.

Pete: You'd've done the same, Nick.

Nick: It wasn't the brightest idea.

Luke: Oh, and firing your rifle was, huh...? Next time we'll just put up a neon sign that says "Lurkers Welcome".

Alvin: Where you goin', hon...?

Rebecca: I want to get my sweater.

Carlos: We'll be done in a minute.

Nick: You're in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by lurkers, about to get eaten alive, and you're telling us it was a dog?

Luke: Yeah, yeah, I know it sounds crazy, but...look, for whatever reason, I think she's telling the truth.

Pete: Look, there's no point in arguing about it now. She's in the shed, she's not gonna hurt anyone. We'll just see what's what in the morning.

Luke: But Carlos said she could die if she doesn't get her arm treated.

Rebecca: Assuming she doesn't turn.

Alvin: That true? The girl could really die...?

Carlos: If the infection spreads...anything's possible. It could definitely get a whole lot worse for her.

Luke: Don't we have penicillin? Or something that could, y'know...stop the infection from spreading?

Carlos: We have some. But not enough to spare.

Nick: We're not wasting anything on her. What if one of us needs it?

Luke: Look, I'm just saying, we could help, that's all.

Rebecca: We need to think of ourselves first. That's just the way it is.

Pete: We can't just let her die. Not if there's something we can do about it. Let's just say she's telling the truth and she doesn't turn. Then what?

Luke: We apologize for being assholes. And then we help fix her arm.

Rebecca: She can't stay with us. We barely have enough supplies for ourselves.

Pete: We've got more fish in the traps than we could ever eat.

Nick: Yeah, but she's seen us. She knows we're here.

Luke: What, you scared of a little girl...?

Carlos: A little girl is not the problem. It's who she might tell.

Alvin: We gotta keep an eye on her.

Rebecca: IF she doesn't turn. Which she probably will.

Nick: I gotta take a leak.

Carlos: Hold on. We're almost done.

Nick: Fine.

Carlos: If a little girl can find her way here, then almost anyone can.

Luke: Pete, you saw those lurkers, alright? That's more than we've seen in a while.

Pete: Yeah. Seems like it's not as safe as it was. Least not like when we found this place.

Nick: Maybe it's time to move on.

Rebecca: We can't just keep running. At some point we've got to settle down.

Carlos: We should. And we will. But can we find somewhere safe? I don't know.

Pete: You seen what it's like out there.

Alvin: I was just starting to like this place.

Pete: Look, we've had a good run here. But if it's time to move on, then I got no problem with that.

Luke: Yeah, but...I mean, where do we go from here...?

Alvin: No more cities. We all agreed on that, right...? Too many damn lurkers.

Nick: We're not going back the way we came. That's for damn sure.

Rebecca: We can probably find somewhere better. We just need to look.

Carlos: Wherever we go, we can't get too attached. We'll be fine as long as we keep things fluid.

Pete: We can't forget we need to check the traps tomorrow.

Nick: What do we do with the girl?

Rebecca: You're not leaving her here with me!

Luke: We can't just keep her locked in the shed. We're not animals.

Carlos: Then take her with you.

Nick: What...?

Carlos: You want to keep an eye on her, then take her with you. Are we almost done here...? I want to make sure Sarah's ready for bed.

Pete: Wait a second. There's something else I want to talk about.

The poster is of a duck.

Clementine: Duck...

There is a note on the desk that says:

Names
Girls
Julia
Kim
Kirsten
Alice
Boys
Mark
Robert
Gary
Dennis

Clementine goes upstairs. If she didn't convince Alvin to give her bandages, she enters one of the bedrooms and takes the rags on the dresser.

Clementine: (takes rags) Not exactly bandages, but they should help stop the bleeding.

You need a needle and peroxide.

It's a gold watch.

Clementine takes the watch.

It's empty.

It's locked.

The game is "Global Menace: The Game of Global Consternation".

Clementine enters the bathroom.

It's a shower-tub.

Clementine: They have to have medical supplies around here somewhere.

Clementine opens the medicine cabinet and takes a needle from the pincushion.

Clementine: It's clean.

Clementine: I'll still need something to keep it from getting infected.

Clementine: I'll still need some bandages, though.

Clementine: I'll still need some bandages and something to keep it from getting infected.

Clementine: I guess that's all I need. I'd better get out of here.

Clementine is about to open the door when she hears something.

Rebecca: That man sometimes, I swear!

Clementine gets in the tub and closes the shower curtain.

Clementine gets in the closest and closes the door.

Sarah: Oh. Hi, Rebecca. What're you doing...?

Rebecca: I want to grab a towel to wash up.

Sarah: They're in the kitchen. I think.

Rebecca: You think...?

Sarah: Yeah. I'm pretty sure I saw them there.

Rebecca: Okay. Thanks.

Rebecca enters the bathroom and drinks some water from the sink.

Rebecca: Damn it... Just need to have this baby and...oh, god. Let it be okay and...let it be his.

Rebecca takes a deep breath and leaves.

Clementine opens the bedroom door and sees Sarah looking at her. She puts her finger on her lips and shushes Sarah.

Sarah: You're not supposed to be in here.

Clementine: Hi, can you please help me?

Sarah: I'm not supposed to talk to you. My dad can't know.

Clementine: I can be anywhere I want. Go away and don't tell anyone or ELSE. Get it?

Sarah: I...I...okay. I'm sorry, I won't say anything, I'm sorry. I just thought maybe we could be friends. Please don't tell my dad I talked to you.

Clementine: Hey. Don't make a sound. I'm just trying to fix my arm.

Sarah: Wh...um...what do you want?

Clementine: I need your help.

Sarah: My dad says I shouldn't talk to you. I'm gonna get in trouble.

Sarah: It's the only place with enough light to read my book. Please don't tell my dad.

Clementine: Help me and I won't tell him.

Sarah: I...

Clementine: I'm hurt. Please help me.

Sarah: I...I shouldn't.

Clementine: Why, what will he do?

Sarah: Get mad at me.

Clementine: What does he do when he gets mad?

Sarah: He gets angry and says he's disappointed in me and that he just loves me and wants me to be safe.

Clementine: That's it? Nothing else?

Sarah: Yeah. It's the worst.

Clementine: What are you reading?

Sarah: A book.

Clementine: What book? I like books.

Sarah: It's called The Guurgles. It's about trans-dimensional body snatchers.

Clementine: Cool.

Clementine says nothing.

Sarah: What happened to you?

Clementine: A dog bit me.

Sarah: Sounds scary... I bet it hurts.

Clementine: I could die if I don't take care of it. Do you understand?

Sarah will remember that.

Clementine: Your dad didn't care if it hurt or not. He's willing to let me die.

Sarah will remember that.

Sarah: That's not true.

Clementine: Has he let people die before?

Sarah: Well...I...I don't know. Not on purpose. I don't know.

Clementine: You can help, y'know...

Clementine: You want to see it?

Sarah: Uh...it really wasn't one of them?

Clementine: It really wasn't.

Sarah: Okay.

Clementine rolls up her sleeve to show the bite.

Sarah will remember that.

Sarah: Eww, gross.

Clementine: I know, right?

Sarah: You have to bandage it, like my dad does.

Clementine: Yeah, I know. Help me.

Clementine says nothing.

Clementine: I just need something to clean it with. I bet it would be with the rest of your medical supplies.

Sarah: Yeah, it is.

Clementine: I need something to clean it up and something to wrap it with--a clean bandage.

Sarah: My dad says we're out of real bandages, but I know where to get something to clean it. That's with his supplies.

Clementine: I need something to clean it with. And I need a needle with thread to sew it up. Do you know where those things are?

Sarah: My dad has some stuff for cleaning with his supplies upstairs. It kinda burns. I don't know if he has stuff for sewing, though.

Clementine: Really? Seems like he would...

Sarah: We don't have much. He's still trying to restock since we moved.

Clementine: I need something to clean it with, bandages, and I need to sew some of it up. It's too deep.

Sarah: My dad says we're out of real bandages, but I know where to get something to clean it. That's with his supplies.

Sarah: I'll help you.

Clementine: Good. Thank you.

Sarah: I'm Sarah.

Clementine: Hi there.

Clementine: You should be in bed, don't you think?

Sarah: It's the only place with enough light to read my book. Please don't tell my dad.

Clementine: Sure.

Clementine: I'm Clementine.

Clementine says nothing.

Sarah: We're friends. Right? We can be best friends--I haven't met another girl my age since way before. It's hard to be the only girl, you know? Rebecca is okay, but she's old. And that's it. And if her baby is a girl, it'll be FOREVER before she's old enough to, like, be my friend. And then I'll be super old.

Clementine: Yes, we're friends.

Sarah: Promise? It's important. Friends have to trust each other no matter what. Do you promise or not? Alright, fine. I get it.

Clementine: I promise.

Sarah will remember that.

Sarah: Me too. Friends.

Sarah holds out her pinkie.

Clementine pinkie promises.

Sarah: A pinky swear is forever. I'll see if I can find the stuff my dad uses when I get a cut. Lemme look around...

Sarah: If I help you, will you leave me alone? I don't want to get in trouble. I'll get the stuff my dad uses when I get a cut.

Clementine: I can't promise. No. I'm sorry.

Sarah will remember that.

Sarah: If I help you, will you leave me alone? I don't want to get in trouble. I'll get the stuff my dad uses when I get a cut.

Clementine: Come on, I said yes.

Sarah: It's not the same. Promise. Yes or no?

Clementine: Yes.

Sarah will remember that.

Clementine: No.

Sarah: What? Why not?

Clementine: We just can't be.

Sarah: Then I'm not helping you. I won't tell my dad you're out, but leave me alone. If I help you, will you leave me alone? I don't want to get in trouble. I'll get the stuff my dad uses when I get a cut.

Sarah: If I help you, will you leave me alone? I don't want to get in trouble. I'll get the stuff my dad uses when I get a cut.

Sarah: If I help you, will you leave me alone? I don't want to get in trouble. I'll get the stuff my dad uses when I get a cut.

Clementine: We're not the same age.

Sarah: What?

Clementine: We're not the same age. You said we were; we're not.

Sarah: How old are you? I'm fifteen.

Clementine: I'm younger. A lot.

Sarah: You don't seem like it.

Clementine: That's just how it is.

Sarah: So we can be friends, then?

Clementine: No.

Sarah: What? Why not?

Clementine: We just can't be.

Sarah: Then I'm not helping you. I won't tell my dad you're out, but leave me alone. If I help you, will you leave me alone? I don't want to get in trouble. I'll get the stuff my dad uses when I get a cut.

Clementine: Yes.

Sarah: Promise?

Clementine: Yes.

Sarah will remember that.

Clementine: Eventually.

Sarah: That's not a real answer.

Clementine: I just don't know you.

Sarah: Then I'm not helping you. I won't tell my dad you're out, but leave me alone. Yes or no?

Sarah: If I help you, will you leave me alone? I don't want to get in trouble. I'll get the stuff my dad uses when I get a cut.

Clementine: We just met...we're not friends.

Sarah: But we COULD be.

Clementine: It's hard to have friends you can trust.

Sarah: Which is why we should be! Come on. Please?

Clementine: I'm worried about saying I'll be your friend and then having to do something not friendly.

Sarah: Come on. Please?

Clementine: Fine. But I warned you.

Sarah will remember that.

Sarah: Friends.

Clementine: Okay, friends.

Sarah will remember that.

Sarah: Friends.

Clementine: No. No, I'm sorry. It wouldn't be honest.

Sarah will remember that.

Sarah: What? Why not?

Clementine: We just can't be.

Sarah: Fine, then.

Sarah searches the room and then gives Clementine a bottle of peroxide.

Sarah: I think this is it.

Clementine: That'll work.

Sarah: You can't do it here, though. Someone will find you.

Clementine: Don't worry, I won't.

Clementine leaves the room.

Clementine: Thanks, Sarah.

Sarah shushes her.

Clementine: Okay. I better get somewhere safer to do this.

Sarah: Go away.

Clementine returns to the shed.

Shed

Clementine takes out the supplies. She rolls up her sleeve and places her arm on the table.

Clementine: This is gonna suck.

Clementine: Ugh, I just wish it was better...

(If Clementine got Alvin's help.)

Clementine takes a sip of juice.

Clementine: Worst bandages ever. At least they'll keep the stitches in place when I'm done.

Clementine unscrews the lid of the peroxide and pours it in her wound, then drops it, screaming in pain.

Clementine: Okay...okay...I'm good. I'm fine. Now the fun part.

Clementine puts the thread through the needle.

Clementine: Now...just like last time...just how Christa showed me...

Clementine begins the first suture, then slams her fist on the table. She continues suturing and screaming in pain. When she's done, she starts wrapping her arm up with the bandages, but drops them. As she picks them up, a zombie reaches through the shed and grabs her leg. She holds onto the table and reaches for the hammer as she tries to kick it away, but it knocks her over. She tries to grab a nearby rake but can't reach it. The wall breaks and the walker crawls all the way into the shed and attacks her. Clementine kicks it away.

Clementine throws the brick at the walker.

Clementine pushes the walker backward with the rake, and it gets impaled by the anchor.

Clementine steps to the side as the walker lunges at her, and it slams into the doors, breaking off a piece of wood. Clementine grabs it and stabs the walker in the neck, then pushes it back into the anchor, impaling it.

She grabs the hammer and hits it repeatedly in the head until she kills it. Luke opens the shed, the rest of the group close behind him.

Luke: Holy shit...!

Alvin: What the...?

Nick: How the hell did it get in here...?

Pete: Little girl's tough as nails.

Carlos: Are you alright?

Luke: The shed should've been safe.

Clementine: I am still. NOT. Bitten. I never was. And you left me out here to die.

Clementine: Are you happy? I could've died, you know.

Rebecca: Well, you DIDN'T.

Clementine: I just needed some help.

Clementine: Can I please come inside now? PLEASE...?

Alvin: Girl's tougher than I thought.

Luke: You patched yourself up...?

Nick: Where'd you get that stuff?

Rebecca: Did she STEAL from us?!

Pete: This doesn't change a thing. She hasn't done anything to us.

Rebecca: Says the man NOT carrying a baby.

Pete: Enough already!

Luke: Guys, please.

Clementine: I did. I took stuff and I'm sorry. I really am.

They will remember that.

Rebecca: And you think you can trust her...?

Pete: Goddamn it, don't even START! Any of you would've done the same if you were half as tough as this little girl. So just save it.

Clementine: You left me no choice.

They will remember that.

Rebecca: You coulda just LEFT.

Pete: Relax, Rebecca.

(If Clementine got Alvin's help and/or agreed to be friends with Sarah.)

Clementine: I didn't do it alone.

They will remember that.

Rebecca: Who helped her?!

Alvin looks guilty, and Rebecca notices.

Rebecca: Now that's some BULLSHIT.

(If Clementine fails to get help from Alvin and refuses to be friends with Sarah afterwards.)

Clementine: Well--screw you guys. You shouldn't've locked me in here.

Nick: She must've stolen it. It didn't just magically appear.

Pete: Unless she had some help.

Carlos: Bring her in and I'll take a look at her arm.

Alvin: Damn lurkers sneakin' around out here...we better get inside.

Luke: You hungry...?

Clementine says nothing. Everyone goes inside.

Cabin

Carlos inspects Clementine's wound. Luke paces and Nick bites his fingernails.

Carlos: This might hurt a little.

Clementine: Ow!

Luke: How's she look...?

Carlos: Her suturing skills need some work, but otherwise I'd say she should be fine.

Luke: So it wasn't a lurker bite?

Carlos: If it was, the fever would've already set in and her temperature would be through the roof.

Carlos bandages Clementine's arm. Nick leaves the room and Luke follows him. Carlos washes his hands in the sink.

Carlos: I wish you wouldn't've done what you did.

Clementine: I was hurt and you weren't helping.

Carlos: Because we considered you a threat. Which you were. Maybe you still are.

Clementine: No, I'm not.

Carlos: We put you in that shed out of concern for the safety of our loved ones. And then you escaped and persuaded my daughter to steal from us.

Clementine: What do you mean?

Carlos: You manipulated my daughter.

Clementine: I asked for her help.

Carlos: She's not someone you can just ask for help.

Clementine: I didn't do anything.

Carlos: Exactly what Sarah says every time I catch her in a lie. We put you in that shed out of concern for the safety of our loved ones. And then you escaped and persuaded my daughter to steal from us.

Carlos: You have nothing to say for yourself? We put you in that shed out of concern for the safety of our loved ones. And then you escaped and persuaded my daughter to steal from us.

Carlos: I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but there are a few things you need to know about my daughter.

Clementine: Okay...

Carlos: She isn't like you. You may not get that initially, but once you're around her for a while, you'll understand. If she knew how bad the world is...what it's really like out there...she would...cease to function. She's my little girl. She's all I have left and I would ask that you stay away from her.

Clementine: I'm sorry, I didn't know.

Carlos will remember that.

Carlos: It's okay. You're forgiven. Just don't make any more mistakes.

Clementine: You don't have to threaten me.

Carlos will remember that.

Carlos: Rebecca was worried you might be working with someone else. That your being here was no accident. I guess we'll find out, but one thing I know for sure--you are not to be trusted.

Clementine: She needs to grow up sometime.

Carlos will remember that.

Carlos: You do not know what she needs! Rebecca was worried you might be working with someone else. That your being here was no accident. I guess we'll find out, but one thing I know for sure--you are not to be trusted.

Carlos: Maybe you don't care. But it means a great deal to me.

Carlos walks away, but pauses in front of the door and looks back.

Carlos: Stay away from my daughter.

Carlos leaves and Luke enters, holding a bowl of food.

Luke: Hey, uh...brought you some food, if you're hungry.

Clementine and Luke sit at the table, and she starts eating.

Luke: That's gonna leave of hell of a scar.

Clementine: It's ugly.

Luke: Nah, it ain't that bad. It's better than a stump.

Luke: (notices Clem's sad expression) What?

Clementine: Nothing. I just had a friend who lost his arm once, that's all.

Clementine: Definitely.

Clementine: Better than losing it.

Luke: You can say that again. Scars...they're way cooler than stumps.

Luke: (notices Clem's sad expression) What?

Clementine: Nothing. I just had a friend who lost his arm once, that's all.

Clementine: Definitely.

Clementine: It doesn't bother me. I can live with it.

Luke: Wow. Nice.

Luke: Yeah. Y'know, I get it. You're pissed that we locked you up. And I'm sorry.

Nick enters the room.

Nick: Hey, look. Um, I just wanted to say I'm sorry for...well...for being a dick out there. I got kinda aggro and that was definitely not cool.

Luke: Nick's been known to go off every once in a while. Don't hold it against him.

Nick: Yeah, I guess we all have our moments.

Luke: You definitely had one out there.

Clementine: You were just protecting your friends. I get it.

Nick will remember that.

Nick: I didn't mean to be so harsh. I just...we had a bad experience once.

Clementine: We've all had bad experiences.

Clementine: What happened...?

Clementine: You were still out of line. You shouldn't've pointed that gun at me.

Clementine says nothing.

Luke: Nick lost his mom. We took care of someone who'd got bit.

Nick: It was my fault. I--

Luke: It was no one's fault. We thought we could control it, but...we couldn't. And then she turned and his mom was standing right there and she got attacked... There was nothing we could do about it.

Nick: Anyway. Hopefully you understand.

Clementine: Bad things have happened to everyone.

Clementine: I do. Yeah.

Clementine: Yeah, I guess so.

Clementine says nothing.

Nick leaves.

Clementine: You were way out of line. You shouldn't've pointed that gun at me. I was hurt and needed help and that's how you treat me?

Nick will remember that.

Nick: I was just--

Clementine: I know what you were trying to do, but that doesn't make it right. I could've died 'cause of you.

Nick: Whatever.

Nick leaves.

Luke: Look, he means well. He just loses it sometimes.

Clementine: I try to avoid crazy people as much as possible.

Clementine: He would've shot me!

Luke: I know, I know. But he's not a bad guy, okay? He just lost it. That's it.

Clementine: I don't like him.

Luke: He's not a bad guy. Maybe just...just give him another chance.

Luke: I know it's no excuse, but Nick had a bad experience once with someone who got bit. Now, we all tried to control it, but they turned and Nick lost his mom. He blames himself for it. Just so you know.

Clementine: Yeah, I guess so.

Nick will remember that.

Luke: So, since you're pretty much on your own...what's your plan?

Clementine: I'm thinking about moving on.

Luke: Well, you're welcome to stay here if you want. You can let yourself heal up and take some time to sort things out.

Clementine: Do you think everyone else will be okay with it?

Luke: They'll just have to deal with it.

Clementine: Maybe I could stay here for a little bit? If that's alright.

Luke: I've got no problem with it.

Clementine: Do you think everyone else will be okay with it?

Luke: Well, they'll just have to deal. Besides, it makes sense to let you heal and take some time to sort things out. At least for a little while.

Clementine: I don't know. I'm kind of on my own now.

Luke: Well, you're welcome to stay here if you want. You can let yourself heal up and take some time to sort things out.

Clementine: Do you think everyone else will be okay with it?

Luke: They'll just have to deal with it.

Luke: Well, you're welcome to stay here if you want. You can let yourself heal up and take some time to sort things out.

Clementine: Do you think everyone else will be okay with it?

Luke: They'll just have to deal with it.

Luke: So...what happened to your parents...? If you don't mind me asking. I mean, I assume what happened to them is what happened to just about everyone's parents. You're just so young...didn't think you could've made it on your own for so long, but maybe you did.

Clementine: Other people took care of me, if that's what you're asking.

Luke: I was just curious on how you made it this far.

Clementine: I just tried to stay with good people and not do anything dumb.

Clementine: They died.

Luke: That's tough. I, uh...I lost my folks, too.

Clementine: Does it matter?

Luke: I was just curious on how you made it this far.

Clementine: I just tried to stay with good people and not do anything dumb.

Clementine says nothing.

Luke: Hey, I'm sorry, I...I shouldn't have asked.

Clementine: My parents went on vacation and left me with a babysitter and they never came back. We went to Savannah to find them...but they were already dead.

Luke: Wow...well, I'm sorry to hear that.

Clementine: My parents went on vacation and left me with a babysitter and they never came back. We went to Savannah to find them...but they were already dead.

Luke: Wow...well, I'm sorry to hear that.

Clementine: My parents went on vacation and left me with a babysitter and they never came back. We went to Savannah to find them...but they were already dead.

Luke: Wow...well, I'm sorry to hear that.

Luke: Look, you don't have to say, if you don't want.

Clementine: This man found me and took care of me.

Clementine: This man found me and took care of me.

Clementine: This man found me and took care of me.

Clementine: This man found me and took care of me.

Clementine: We met up with other survivors and we all tried to make it, but...it didn't work. His name was Lee. He taught me how to survive.

Clementine: He told me to stay away from cities.

Clementine: He's the reason I keep my hair short.

Clementine: He taught me how to shoot a gun.

Luke: What, uh, happened to him...?

Clementine: I killed him.

Luke will remember that.

Clementine: He got bitten...protecting me, and I had to kill him before he turned.

Luke: Wow.

Clementine: I had to.

Clementine: I was too young and too stupid to do anything right. He died because of me.

Luke: I'm sorry.

Clementine: Yeah.

Clementine: I ran away... I was stupid. There was a man who said he knew my parents. I thought I knew what I was doing, but I ran away and Lee died because of it.

Luke: Maybe he would've died anyways.

Clementine: It was my fault. I just...sometimes people die because of me.

Luke will remember that.

Clementine: The same thing that happens to everyone. But he saved me first. Lots of times.

Luke: Well, sounds like he was a real good guy.

Clementine: Yeah. He was.

Luke: Y'know what? It's okay. You don't have to talk about it if you don't want.

Pete enters the room.

Pete: I hate to interrupt, but I'm out there standing watch and I can't help but notice this place is lit up like a goddamn beacon in the middle of the woods.

Luke: Yeah, it's time to turn in anyways.

Pete: Get your winks while you can 'cause we're goin' fishing at first light. A couple fresh brookies for dinner? Mm, wouldn't that be nice.

Luke leaves; Pete smiles at Clementine before leaving as well. She continues to eat, and Rebecca enters the room and goes to the sink.

Rebecca: Oh. You're still here. I wouldn't get comfortable, if I were you.

Rebecca: Maybe you fooled everyone else, but not me.

Clementine: Don't talk to me like that.

Rebecca: Or what? You can't pull some shit on me. I'm not my husband.

Clementine: You should watch your language if you're going to be a mom.

Rebecca: You should watch your ass if you know what's good for you.

Clementine: I just needed some help.

Rebecca: Well, you got it. Now go.

Clementine: I'm a little girl...

Rebecca: You know what the hell you're doing. We got enough problems, and we don't need any new shit; get it?

Clementine: I just needed some help.

Rebecca: Well, you got it. Now go.

Clementine: What...? Who...?

Rebecca: Don't pull that shit on me; I'm not my husband.

Clementine: What...? I'm sorry, I don't understand.

Rebecca: Yes, you do.

Clementine: I just needed some help.

Rebecca: Well, you got it. Now go.

Rebecca: Stay the hell away from my husband.

Clementine: Whatever.

Clementine: Luke invited me to stay.

Rebecca: Good for him. But that's not how things work around here. We make decisions as a group. And you're wearing out your welcome. You got what you came here for. Now go.

(If Clementine got Alvin's help.)

Clementine: I'm sorry, okay?

Rebecca: It's too late for that. I knew the moment you showed up you'd be a problem. Stay the hell away from my husband!

Clementine: Whatever.

(If Clementine didn't get Alvin's help.)

Clementine: I'm a little girl...

Rebecca: You know what the hell you're doing. We got enough problems, and we don't need any new shit; get it? You got what you came here for. Now go.

(If Clem hid in the bathroom.)

Clementine: Whose baby is it?

Rebecca: Excuse me...?

Clementine: If it's not Alvin's, whose is it?

Rebecca: You shut your fucking mouth.

Clementine: I won't tell.

Rebecca will remember that.

Rebecca: I knew you were going to be a fucking problem. You got what you came here for. Now go.

Clementine: You should probably think about being nicer to me. That's just my advice.

Rebecca will remember that.

Rebecca: I knew you were going to be a fucking problem.

(If Clem didn't already say the line.)

Clementine: Don't talk to me like that.

Rebecca: Or what? You can't pull some shit on me. I'm not my husband.

Clementine: You should watch your language if you're going to be a mom.

Rebecca: You should watch your ass if you know what's good for you.

Rebecca: I knew you were going to be a fucking problem.

(If Clem did nothing so Rebecca didn't enter the bathroom.)

Clementine: I won't stay long.

Rebecca: Good, 'cause I don't trust you. And stay the hell away from my husband.

Rebecca: Nothing to say? You got what you needed. You got what you came here for. Now go.

Rebecca leaves.

Forest

Clementine and Pete walk through the forest on their way to the river.

Pete: How ya holding up? I heard you got an earful from Rebecca last night. Once she gets going, there's no bringing her back. Her bark's worse than her bite.

Clementine: What's her problem?

Pete: Well, she's got a lot on her mind, lately. Bringing a baby into a world like this?

Clementine: She's mean. I don't like her.

Pete: She did come on a little strong.

Clementine: She's all talk. She doesn't scare me.

Pete: She was in a mood last night, that's for sure...

Pete: She was in a mood last night, that's for sure...

Clementine: How far are these fish traps?

Pete: It ain't much further. (notices Clementine looking at his rifle) Anyone teach you how to shoot? By that I mean taught proper. Any idiot with a finger can shoot.

Clementine: My friend Lee taught me.

Pete: That's good. It's important nowadays.

Clementine: Yeah. But not a rifle!

Pete: Well, that makes sense. Less kick. This thing would probably knock you on your ass.

Clementine: I don't like guns.

Pete: Hmm. It's amazin' you lasted this long.

Pete: It's okay if you can't. Maybe once things settle down we'll get you a lesson or two.

Pete: Nick was about your age first time I took him huntin'. Came across this beautiful 13-point buck just standin' there on the ridgeline. The boy takes the rifle...lines up the shot just like I taught him...then I hear him start whinin'. He turns to me and he says, "I can't do it. I can't shoot it, Uncle Pete. Please don't make me shoot it."

Clementine: Really? No way.

Clementine: What a baby.

Clementine: Aww...that's sad.

Clementine says nothing.

Nick runs up to the other two.

Nick: Hey! Why didn't you wait?

Pete: You want us standin' around while you piss on a tree? You know where the river is, boy.

The group continues walking.

Pete: Anyway, so I grab the gun out of his hand before this big buck runs off when BANG! The gun fires. Boy nearly gut shot me. And of course the buck gets away.

Nick: What're you goin' and tellin' her this shit for?

Pete: 'Cause you almost blew her face off yesterday. Seems relevant. Tryin' to let her know it's nothin' personal with you.

Nick: Why are you always giving me a hard time?

Pete: Because you're always givin' everyone else a hard time.

Nick: I apologized already. She accepted.

Pete: Okay, well, I didn't know that.

Nick: I tried to apologize already. She ain't havin' it.

Pete: Well, can you blame her?

Clementine: It's fine. He apologized.

Clementine: I want to hear the rest of the story.

Clementine: Let's just get to the river.

Clementine says nothing.

Nick: You're always trying to embarrass me.

Pete: You're doing a good enough job of that on your own.

Nick walks away.

Pete: Leavin' us again?

Nick: I know where the fucking river is!

Pete: So anyway...I found that buck later that season. Shot it right in the neck. Brought it up to my sister's, figurin' she'd want to freeze some of the meat... Nick didn't speak to me for weeks. Sometimes you gotta play a role...even if it means people you love hate you for it.

Clementine: He doesn't hate you.

Pete will remember that.

Pete: Nick's father wasn't there much, and he was a piece of shit when he was, so it fell to me to keep him in line. Raise him right. Meant I couldn't just be nice Uncle Pete.

Clementine: He's a jerk.

Pete: There is somethin' good in that boy's heart...it's just sometimes his head gets in the way.

Clementine: You should tell him that.

Pete will remember that.

Clementine says nothing.

Nick: UNCLE PETE!

Clementine and Pete run to Nick.

River

Pete: Nick...? Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.

The riverbank is covered in dead bodies. Pete approaches one of them and pokes it with his rifle.

Pete: Full'a holes.

Clementine: Who do you think did this?

Pete: Not sure yet. But it ain't your average gang'a thugs, that much I know.

Nick: Think about it. You're Carver, what do you do?

Clementine: Who's Carver?

Pete and Nick exchange a glance.

Pete: Check those guys there. Be careful. Some of 'em might still be movin'.

Pete and Nick examine the bodies.

Talk to Pete

Clementine: What can I do?

Pete: See if you can find anything else.

Clementine: Like what?

Pete: Like what might tell us who did this.

Talk to Pete again

Clementine: Is he shot too?

Pete: Yeah. These fellas got lit up somethin' good.

Talk to Pete again

Pete: Take a look around. Just be careful.

Talk to Nick

Clementine: Can I help?

Nick: I got it.

Talk to Nick again

Clementine: Are you sure you're okay?

Nick: Ask my uncle. He knows everything.

Talk to Nick again

Nick: I said I got it, okay?

Clementine looks at one of the bodies.

Clementine: This one's shot too.

Pete: Through the head?

Clementine: Yeah...

Pete: Check the rest. And look for ammo. We're runnin' low.

Clementine looks at the sandbar.

Clementine: There're more out there!

Pete: This wasn't no rinky-dink pissin' match.

Nick: What was it then?

Pete: FUBAR.

Nick: Where are you going?! We need to get the fuck outta here!

Pete: Gotta check the rest.

Nick: What?! Why?!

Pete: (wading across the river) Calm down and think about it, son.

Nick: Calm down?! We've gotta get out of here, now.

Pete: Jesus Christ, get ahold of yourself.

Clementine: What if someone's alive, Nick?

Nick: Who cares?!

Pete: 'Cause they might just be inclined to tell us who did this.

Clementine: Shouldn't we go get the others?

Pete: Wish we could, but one of these folks might still be alive, and they might just be inclined to tell us who did this.

Clementine: Nick's right. This doesn't look good.

Pete: No, it don't. But one of these folks might still be alive, and they might just be inclined to tell us who did this.

Pete: One of these folks might still be alive, and they might just be inclined to tell us who did this.

Pete: We gotta do this now. Stay here. Keep searchin' these.

Clementine hops across the rocks in the river to the other side.

Nick: This is a dumb idea.

Pete: You know, Nick, I don't like this either, but sooner or later you're gonna have to realize a simple truth.

Nick: What? That you're an asshole?

Pete: That nobody in this world is ever gonna give a goddamn whether you like somethin' or not. You gotta grow up, son.

Nick: Whatever.

Pete: Come on, Clem. You wanna be useful, keep a lookout on that treeline. Whoever did this might still be out there. Waitin' for another sucker to stumble across this mess. Just like baitin' a fish. It's what I'd do.

Clementine: I'm on it.

Pete: You always so agreeable?

Clementine: No.

Pete: Good. You'll fit right in with this outfit.

Clementine: I'd be more useful with a gun.

Pete: I don't doubt it.

Clementine: At some point, you guys have to trust me.

Pete: Hell, I trust ya. But not everyone's at that point yet. Give 'em time.

Clementine: At some point, you guys have to trust me.

Pete: Hell, I trust ya. But not everyone's at that point yet. Give 'em time.

Pete: Don't get jumpy on me now.

Pete: Look, just keep your head on straight.

A nearby zombie growls, impaled with a spear and unable to move.

Pete: Hm. Same deal. All shot to pieces. Hope this isn't anyone you know.

Clementine: No...

Pete: Good.

Pete takes out the spear and stabs the walker in the head.

Pete: Damn it. More on that side. You check out these ones. See if there's anything on 'em that'll tell us who they were.

Clementine looks at the body.

Clementine looks at a body on the edge of the river. She notices her backpack nearby him. As she leans down to pick it up, he coughs.

Clementine: What happened to you...?

Clementine: Do I know you...?

Clementine: That's my backpack...

Clementine says nothing.

Clementine: You were in the woods with Christa. The woman I was with. What happened to her? Please. Tell me. TELL ME!

Victor: Please... (motions toward the water bottle)

Clementine helps Victor drink some water.

Victor: Thank you...thank you...

Victor: Please...

Pete: ARRGHH!

A walker crawls toward Pete and grabs at his ankles; Pete shoots it in the head.

Nick: PETE!

Pete: I'm fine, I'm fine! Just...just lost my footing! Damn it...goddamn it...

Pete and Clementine notice the bite on his ankle.

Nick: Shit! Lurkers!

Pete: I'm outta ammo!

Nick: Come this way!

Pete: Son of a bitch... Damn it, you get your asses over here, both of you!

Nick: I'll cover you! We gotta get out of here!

Pete: GET OVER HERE, GODDAMN IT!

Nick: Can't you listen to me once?! Just ONE TIME?! I've got ammo!

Pete: Listen to me, damn it! I see a way out!

Nick: I'll cover you!

Pete: I'VE GOT A CLEAR PATH OVER HERE, GODDAMN IT!

Clementine runs through the river toward Nick.

Pete: NICK!

Nick: PETE!

Clementine dodges a couple walkers and reaches Nick.

Pete: NICK!

They run toward Pete.

Nick: PETE...! NO...!

Pete: Jesus! Fuck!

Nick aims at the walkers attacking Pete, but is out of ammo.

Nick: Oh, my god...

Pete is devoured. Nick reloads his weapon and kills the walkers.

Nick: PETE...! No!

Clementine: WE HAVE TO GO!

Nick: You could've saved him... How could you just leave him...?

Clementine runs toward Pete.

Pete: Come on! Come on!

A walker attacks Pete and knocks him over. He grabs its wrists and tries to keep it away.

Pete: Jesus! Fuck!

Clementine grabs a plank from a nearby pallet and hits the walker's arm, breaking it off. Pete kicks it backward and hits it with his rifle. Nick yells and hits a walker with his rifle. Pete limps toward him.

Pete: Nick! Hold on! NICK!

Nick runs away.

Pete: Goddamn it! NICK!

Clementine: We have to go!

They run away as walkers follow them.
