Alma, more commonly known as La Doña Alma in stories, is a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's Tales of the Walking Dead.
Overview[]
Alma is shown to be a strict, stern, and mysterious woman. Upon encountering Idalia and Eric in her house, she immediately is cold and hostile towards them and tries getting them to leave. Though she isn't completely heartless, as after some convincing, she allows them to stay, but only for the night. However, after Eric pesters Alma to allow them to stay longer, she becomes irritated and forces them to leave immediately. Due to her old age, she is quite frail, as after she is startled by an angry Eric, she chokes on her food and dies after collapsing and hitting her head on the table.
It is hinted that Alma may have skills in magic, as Idalia mentions she's healer who often does spells. Though she dies early on, it appears that Alma's house is haunted and both Idalia and Eric begin to experience hallucinations. Eventually a hallucination of Alma herself emerges from her grave and orders the two of them to leave, which eventually leads to their deaths. However, whether this is all real and something genuinely supernatural is going on or it's all just in Idalia and Eric's heads is unknown.

Not much is known about Alma's life prior to or as the outbreak began, other than she came from a wealthy family, and was rumored to practice witchcraft.

"La Doña"[]
Alma was killed after Eric displayed aggressive behavior towards her when she demanded he and Idalia leave her home, having trespassed on her property. She became frightened at Eric when he refused to leave causing her to choke on her food before hitting her head. She was subsequently buried outside of the house.
As a result of Eric and Idalia's collective delusions and hallucinatory episodes, they imagine seeing Alma return as a ghost and believe she is out to get her revenge.

- "Alma" is Spanish for "soul", "heart", "spirit", and "lifeblood" and her nickname "La Doña" is Spanish for "the lady".
- Excluding Paco because he's a bird and is unable to do so, Alma is the only named character from her episode who dies but doesn't reanimate.
