"The New Frontier"[]
Ava's husband is among the dozens of refugees to arrive at the Rosarito Beach Hotel begging to be let in. After his mother-in-law pleads for her daughter to be let in, due to her pregnancy, Strand arrives and announces to everyone that they will be taken care of. The next morning, Ava is going into labor and while Strand refuses, the husband threatens him with a knife. However, Strand ultimately helps deliver Ava's baby.
"Burning in Water, Drowning in Flame"[]
It is unknown what happened to this refugee after the Rosarito Beach Hotel was overrun, as the front gates were found breached and the hotel grounds filled with blood and the undead. While the fate of Ava's husband remains unknown, it is possible he was able to escape, make it to a higher floor, or was killed.
