C. Barca (first name unknown) is a former antagonist and a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's The Walking Dead: World Beyond. He was a member of the Civic Republic Military.
Overview[]
Barca is initially a loyal member of the Civic Republic Military. He is shown to carry out any order given, including carrying out the massacre of the Campus Colony. However, later Barca enters Elizabeth's apartment and is clearly shaken up from what they did. He expresses remorse for all the deaths of the people they killed, believing them not to be a threat. Because of this, Barca is taken into custody and removed from his position as sergeant.
It's later revealed that Barca has now become a test subject for Lyla Belshaw's experiments. Barca, now having seen what the CRM truly is, expresses his disapproval telling Lyla they're both going to hell for what they have done. Barca's words are muted and he is eventually killed for the experiments to see how long it will take for him to reanimate. Huck suggests that this may have been done in part because Barca had become a part of a resistance movement against the CRM.

Season 1[]
"Brave"[]
Barca is among the Civic Republic Military soldiers sent to carry out a massacre at the Campus Colony, under Lieutenant Colonel Elizabeth Kublek's orders. He approaches Elizabeth outside as the clean-up of the community continues and informs that all of the buildings searched but they were unable to locate "her", to which Elizabeth replies "good" before taking his weapon and using it to dispatch a zombie on the ground.
"The Tyger and the Lamb"[]
Barca appears at Elizabeth's apartment, clearly shaken up and struggling from his involvement in the massacre of the Campus Colony community. Elizabeth invites him in and proceeds to turn on all of the appliances in her apartment to demonstrate a point - they have energy, manufacturing, agriculture, water, and other functions that represent a successful society, and that everything they do is for the good of the city, stating that they are the "light of the world". She then invites Barca to sit down and enjoy some soup, unbeknownst she had summoned her bodyguards to her apartment. After a knock is heard at the door, Barca is ordered to open it, where two bodyguards take him in custody to the CRM Health and Welfare Complex. She orders that he will stay there until he is feeling better and will be re-assigned to a position that involves physical labor instead of resuming his role as a Sergeant Major and one of her bodyguards. As he is being escorted away by the bodyguards, Barca loudly yells that the CRM’s beliefs is a lie and to think about what they did, prompting one of the guards to knock him out.
Season 2[]
"Quatervois"[]
An unconscious Barca is strung up in the lab at the Civic Republic Research Facility as Dr. Lyla Belshaw's newest test subject. Jadis tells Lyla that he came in from the Civic Republic and Lyla looks over Barca's file. Lyla is surprised to discover that Barca is a soldier, and she orders her assistants to keep Barca sedated while they establish baseline vitals.
"Blood and Lies"[]
In a flashback, Dr. Lyla Belshaw performs tests on a sedated Barca. Lyla tells her assistant that, as long as there's no abnormalities in his bloodwork, Barca should be suitable for their purposes. Lyla leaves for her dinner with the Bennett family, promising to be back to check in later and that they will begin at dawn.
At dawn, Lyla prepares to experiment on Barca who is tied to an upright table. Now conscious, Barca tells Lyla that they're both going to Hell and maybe they're already there. Barca calls the CRM plan bullshit, insisting that they what they do now matters "cause if tomorrow -- if it's built with blood and lies, that's all it'll ever be." Lyla mutes Barca's pleas and clinically recites into a tape recorder his medical facts and prepares to proceed with exposure to Trial 6.0. Lyla fills the room with her modified chlorine gas, killing Barca. Lyla notes down his time of death as 8:22 a.m. and starts the clock to see how long it will take until Barca reanimates. Staring at Barca's corpse, Lyla reassures herself that "this is how we have tomorrow" and walks away before Lieutenant Frank Newton interrupts her experiment. Lyla later informs Jadis, Huck and Leo Bennett that Barca still hasn't turned after nearly eight hours, showing some success in her latest experiment and causing Lyla to believe that she is on the verge of a major breakthrough.
When Lyla, Jadis and Huck arrive outside of the lab at 7 hours and 48 minutes since Barca's death, they discover that he has reanimated. Although disappointed by Barca failing to get to 8 hours, Jadis orders Huck to cut Barca loose as Lyla has become expendable. The reanimated Barca chases the terrified Lyla around the lab before finally biting into her neck, killing Lyla. Jadis then tells Huck that Lyla's death will be ruled a tragic laboratory accident.

Trivia[]
- Barca is one of the few characters known to have a time of death, in his case 8:22 AM.
- Barca is the first named CRM soldier to die in World Beyond.
- Barca is the only named member of the CRM with an undead status.
- He is also one of only two characters in the World Beyond series to have an undead status, the other being Cliff Carlucci.
- In "Family Is a Four Letter Word", Elizabeth Kublek mentions getting called away to an urgent matter at the Civic Republic Health and Welfare Center which has been handled. As Barca was imprisoned there and was shortly after transferred to the research facility, this may have been a reference to whatever caused him to become a test subject and acted as foreshadowing for his return.
- In "Returning Point", Huck suggests that Barca was killed for being a part of a resistance movement within the CRM and had probably been trying to reveal the truth about their actions to the Civic Republic's civilian government.
- Due to Barca taking part in the genocide of Campus Colony, it is highly likely that he was given the Echelon Briefing by Beale.
