A Bayonet is a blade affixed to the end of a gun, usually some kind of rifle, that is used for melee attacks against enemies. Several organizations have made use of various kinds of bayonets after the outbreak, including the Commonwealth Army, the Civic Republic Military, the New Babylon Federation, and Power of the Living.

Pre-Apocalypse[]

Bayonets were commonly used by armies during some of the greatest wars in history.

Post-Apocalypse[]

Original TV Series[]

The Commonwealth Army's preferred weapons are AR-15s customized with a bayonet for use against walkers.

After Annie Smith kills a Commonwealth soldier, Toby Carlson borrows another trooper's rifle and uses the bayonet to stab the dead man in the head in order to keep him from reanimating.

On the way to the Hilltop, Lance Hornsby tasks Aaron and Gabriel with clearing out a small herd rather than having his men do, claiming that he wants to save ammo. Joining them, Daryl impales one walker through the head with his AR-15s bayonet, spins it to face another walker and then shoots both in the head through the walker that he's already impaled.

During an ambush of Lance's forces in the sewers, Aaron uses the bayonet on an AR-15 to slice the leg of one of the Commonwealth soldiers, hobbling him.

During the Battle for the Commonwealth, Eugene Porter and Gabriel Stokes use the bayonets on their stolen AR-15s to put down the walkers devouring corpses at the Commonwealth Children's Home. They then possibly use the bayonets to put down the walkers victims so that they won't reanimate.

Fear the Walking Dead[]

Isabelle and the CRM Reclamation Team carry rifles with the CRM's unique bayonets on them. Isabelle uses her gun's bayonet to put down a zombified rock climber at the CRM Fuel Drop.

World Beyond[]

The CRM's rifles carry a unique kind of bayonet which takes the form of a giant u-shaped attachment on the end of their guns that has two deployable metal prongs, one from each of the holes in the attachment.

During the Genocide of the Campus Colony, Elizabeth Kublek borrows a soldier's rifle and uses the bayonet to put down a surviving empty.

Dead City[]

The rifles of the New Babylon Federation marshals have bayonets attached to them.

In Big J Cleaners, Perlie Armstrong uses the bayonet on his rifle to put down a walker. However, he loses the weapon when a herd invades the store and Perlie is left cut off from his gun which had been tossed aside by Maggie Rhee in a struggle.

Daryl Series[]

Members of Power of the Living carry regular old-fashioned bayonets attached to their guns for use against walkers.

Stéphane uses a bayonet attached to a small pistol to put down his zombified brother and he later compels Philippe Poulin to use the bayonet on his rifle to put down the zombified Père Jean over the objections of Véronique and Isabelle.

The Ones Who Live[]

While fighting a herd of 200 plus walkers outside of Cascadia Forward Operating Base, Pearl Thorne uses her rifle's bayonet to fight the walkers after she can't free the R-DIM as the CRM forces are trying to eliminate the herd quietly.

When a zombified Frontliner interferes in the fight between the two women, Michonne puts it down by shoving the Frontliner headfirst into the bayonet of Thorne's gun.

Telltale Series[]

Paige's rifle has a small bayonet attached to the end. While Samantha is helping her brothers out of the burning house, Paige fights off two walkers, stabbing one of them in the head with her rifle's bayonet.

Killed Victims[]

The following is a list of victims killed with a bayonet:
