Bernie is a mentioned character in The Walking Dead. He was formerly a member of Magna's group until his inevitable death by walkers before Judith Grimes could save the rest of the group.
Pre-Apocalypse
Nothing is known about him before the apocalypse.
Post-Apocalypse
At some point, he encountered Magna's group and joined up with them.
"What Comes After"
He died before Judith can find the rest of his group due to walkers.
"Who Are You Now?"
It is revealed by Luke that he died before Judith arrived to save the rest of the group. Through conversations with Magna's group, it's revealed that a place like Alexandria is where Bernie would have oved the group to find.
"Stradivarius"
A massive herd attacks Magna's group, Michonne, Siddiq and D.J. Michonne realizes that its the same herd that destroyed Magna's rig when she spots Bernie amongst them, ripped apart and wearing the same shirt he had on in the story the group had earlier told the Alexandrians. As Bernie approaches his former friends, who are stunned and saddened to see him, Michonne mercifully drives the tip of her katana through the back of his head, putting Bernie down.
Death
He was killed by walkers before Judith arrived and saved the rest of his group.
