Bernie is a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's The Walking Dead. He is a member of Magna's group.
Pre-Apocalypse
Nothing is known about Bernie's life prior to or as the outbreak began.
Post-Apocalypse
At some point in the apocalypse, Bernie encountered Magna's group and joined them.
Season 9
"Stradivarius"
A massive herd attacks Magna's group, Michonne, Siddiq and D.J. Michonne realizes that its the same herd that destroyed Magna's rig when she spots Bernie amongst them, ripped apart and wearing the same shirt he had on in the story the group had earlier told the Alexandrians.
As an undead Bernie approaches his former friends, who are stunned and saddened to see him, Michonne mercifully drives the tip of her katana through the back of his head, putting him down.

As Bernie and the rest of Magna's group flee their camp, he is unable to escape in time and is devoured by walkers.
- Michonne (Zombified)
After being discovered by Michonne in the herd that killed him, Michonne mercifully stabs Bernie in the back of his head, putting him down.
