Betsy is a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's The Walking Dead. She is a resident of the Alexandria Safe-Zone, alongside her husband David.

Nothing is known about Betsy's life prior to or as the outbreak began.

Post-Apocalypse

At some point in the apocalypse, Betsy encountered Aaron and David as they were making their way to a community called the Alexandria Safe-Zone and joined them. She quickly befriended David and made him change into a better person. The pair soon fell in love and eventually got married.

Season 6

"Now"

Having survived the assault made on the community by the Wolves, Betsy is one of the many townspeople by the front gate, listening to the growing horde gathering outside the walls. She is in shock and stares at the wall as she listens to Rick and Aaron as they address the crowd. After listening to the speech, Betsy and two other women paint the names of those lost during the assault and the compromised redirection of the walkers from the rock quarry to the wall panel serving as a memorial.

Later that day, Betsy commits suicide after believing her husband to have died during the herd redirect mission and having no will or reason to live. She slashes her writs and bleeds herself to death. When Jessie walks by her house, she approaches the door and discovers the reanimated Betsy who she then puts down as the other residents watch on with horror.

• Betsy is incorrectly credited as Betsey while Talking Dead and David's note in "Thank You" spells her name as Betsy. The name of her counterpart in the Comic Series is also spelled as Betsy.
