….I HIGHLY recommend playing State of Decay 2. Yes, you can essentially play a modded version of Fallout 4, or maybe play Day Z. But what if you don’t know a whole lot about mods or don’t have a computer with a Mods Manager? What if Modding doesn’t work for you on Console? What if Day Z is either too complicated or requires an online connection that you don’t have membership access to?
Enter State of Decay 2 (SoD2). The original SoD was great at its time. SoD2 takes it to a new level. It features the map from the first game, plus four more additional maps.
Its a sandbox Zombie survival game where you control multiple characters and claim places as a Base, focus on keeping your Food, Gas, Materials, Ammo, as well as Morale up in order to maintain a happy community. If Morale falls low, people will start fights within or leave your community. If you don’t have enough beds, people will start arguing about who gets to sleep.
If someone has bad traits (such as the Instigator trait or Hero Syndrome trait) they will purposely sabatoge your community. And that’s barely scratching the surface.
I very much enjoy SoD2 and it’s the perfect video game as a hold-me-over between seasons of TWD or if I want to tell my own story within a zombie universe.
