Agreed. But, I think Kirkman is doing the 'she was there the whole time' with them like he did with Andrea and Rick or Rick & Michonne
I hope so, the only thing that keeps me alive is the possibility of Carl and Sophia been together
LOL!
Hnn. Maybe.
I should add, the reason it makes me as upset as it did is probably because of what happened to Sophia in the TV show. If she's going to be kept around this long in the comic, fucking do something with her.

Yeah I also think Sophia and Carl will ultimately end up together and become just like Rick and Andrea were. I think Kirkman currently is being very careful with Sophia's character because he does want people to take her and Carl's romance seriously when it does happen. He wouldn't want her to be Carl's teenage fuck buddy because then people wouldn't view them as being anything more than that..

Careful? Hell no, he just forgets she exists. He's flat out admitted to not giving her enough panel or character time. Kirkman often glosses over his faulty bits of writing, so when even he knows he's giving Sophia the shaft, it's definitely bad.

I agree so much. I was so mad when they killed her in the tv show. I mean no one even got the chancd to know her in the show. I'm grateful that she is still on the comic. I love Sarl and I would love to see her grow.

It's awful. If they felt the need to be super edgy and kill her off, they could have AT LEAST given her some screentime FIRST. They didn't even have the scene where she kisses Carl after he wakes up from his bullet wound since she was already missing/dead at that point
I don't know. Sophia/Carl feels far too predictable. Maybe instead she will get killed off (possibly by sacrificing herself trying to save Carl), which will cause strain between Carl and Lydia, as Carl will feel like he failed to protect Lydia like he failed to protect Sophia. That'd add some nice drama between Carl and Lydia for a few chapters.
Personally, I really like Lydia and don't get all the hate. She's an interesting charcter who's had an active role since she appeared, as opposed to Sophia who's just sort of been there in the background. Sophia feels more like a plot device or a motivator, as opposed to Lydia who feels more like a legitimate character. I think most people hate Lydia by default because they're Carl/Sophia shippers. Seriously though, what sounds cooler, (1) Carl, the son of the badass leader of the group and Lydia, the daughter of the psychotic skin wearing Whisperers leader who defied betrayed her people, or (2) Carl, the son of the badass leader of the group and Sophia, the girl who's just been chilling in the background since the beginning of the series.
Personally, I don’t like Lydia, Her character is really weak, to tell you the truth, I would like it if Sophia blew her brains out, and also^^ its more like Carl, the son of the badass leader of Alexandria, And Sophia, The daughter of the badass leader of the hilltop, Carl needs a Stong independent young Woman by his side, That young woman is Sophia, they have been trough everything together, Lydia has only been there for a little bit (Going off the recent time line it’s been a few months that she’s been there)
I think there's a reason she's still alive in the comics, and I think that Kirkman is either going to have them together at the end, or have some subversion and go in a completely different direction. I think it would be fun to tease a relationship but in the end they don't get together. Who knows.
Sohia hasn't really done anything though. Lydia has. She's fought back and shown she has what it takes to survive. What has Sofia done? And Lydia has been through a lot more/worse than Sofia. She's lost her father, had to live like an animal for years, had no one to care for her (not even her mother), was made to wear human skin, was forced to give up her name and identity, lived amongst Walkers, was raped regularly, got captured by the enemy, betrayed her people, and had her mother killed. She has the right to feel vulnerable and weak sometimes, and yet she's still remained strong and kept fighting. Sophia has suffered too, with losing her parents and going through what Rick's group's problems, but she hasn't suffered anywhere near as much Lydia, yet she's been much weaker. And what has Sophia done? Nothing but need to have others take care of her. And now that Carl has found someone he cares about, she's getting all clingy.
