According to this article, which also seems to be confirmed by Scott Gimple, The orginal Walking Dead TV Series is ending with it's 12th season on March 12th, 2022.
Just wanted to know if other people have seen this, plus their thoughts?

Half the fans don't want it to end and half the fans want it to end. Whether the article is true or not, half the audience will be disappointed by their decision.
Fewer and fewer people are tuning in as well though. People are losing interest in this series plain and simple. Even though some feel Kang has improved the quality it at the same time hasn't stopped the tuning out trend.

My thoughts are this. Fuck. Scott. Gimple. He ruined the serious with his dirty hands and writting.
However, 2022 is far off so who knows

Conjecture. tbh. AMC loves money they will keep it pushing as long as possible. even it means asking a certien someone for help.
If the specific rumor ends up being true, I am fine with this decision. Twelve seasons always sounded like a good number to end the show. I mean, I don't know many tv shows that have achieved the milestone of 12 seasons. I am just a little shocked, as the news came out from nowhere. Anyways, we shall see. I am still waiting an official confirmation on Talking Dead.

If true they probably wouldn't officially announce it until season 12 is officially announced. So it would probably still be nine to twelve months away before it would be officially announced that season 12 would be the last.

It does seem like a good time to end it. And planning this far ahead hopefully means they can really think of a good way to write the last season

For right now it is. However it may not be making much more than Fear currently is by the time season 12 roles around and the costs for the main show are also a lot higher than they are for Fear.
With the fading interest in the franchise it makes a lot of sense for them to put more focus on the smaller scale productions.
