A boat hook is a long pole with a sharp hook at the end that is used in boating.

Pre-Apocalypse[]

Before the outbreak, boat hooks are often used in boating by various people.

Post-Apocalypse[]

Original TV Series[]

While returning from a supply run to Washington, D.C., Dary Dixon uses a boat hook as a makeshift spear to take out a walker.

Fear the Walking Dead[]

During their time at the boat yard, the Stalkers use a boat hook, presumably taken from one of the vessels there, to safely put down walkers at a distance. On at least one occasion, Sabrina uses it to put down a radioactive walker that wanders into the area.

After Arno's death, Wes grabs the boat hook and uses it to stab Arno in the head and keep him from reanimating.

Daryl Series[]

In Marseille, France, Daryl Dixon grabs a boat hook from a skeleton that was presumably used as a weapon by an unknown survivor in the past. Daryl carries the boat hook with him as he journeys across France, before being attacked by a small herd of burners in the Midi-Pyrénées Market. Using the boat hook, Daryl is able to dispatch most of the herd, finishing off a few with one of his knives. At one point, Daryl stands on top of a table and stabs several burners with his boat hook as they gather around him, but the weapon gets stuck when Daryl stabs it down through the table and into a burner below. While Daryl eventually manages to free it, he accidentally breaks off the hook end in the process, but even broken the boat hook remains useful as Daryl finishes off the herd.

Daryl continues to carry his broken boat hook through his encounter with Maribelle and Guillaume, but he is forced to disarm himself of it by Michel Codron and Henri. It is presumably abandoned at the Midi-Pyrénées Farm when Isabelle rescues him as there's no sign of the broken boat hook afterwards at the Abbey of Saint Bernadette.

Killed Victims[]

  • Arnold (Before Reanimation)
  • At least 1 unnamed Texas survivor (Zombified)
  • Numerous counts of zombies
