Buffalo, New York is a location that appears in The Walking Dead: All-Stars.

Post-Apocalypse

During the onset of the apocalypse, several groups and safe zones were formed, with the two most notable factions being that of Asyl and The Raiders. Over time, as both factions started to gain power in the area, they ended having a war between each other, some of which spanned into Niagara Falls. After the war, the Western New York Alliance was formed, where they tried to reclaim both Buffalo and Niagara Falls. Despite this, a small faction of Raiders that disagreed with working with Asyl continued on and has been warring with the alliance.

• There seems to be some discrepancies as to Asyl's location in the game.
  • In "Beyond The Border", it is implied that Asyl is located in what used to be the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park.
  • Asyl is stated to be located a few miles away from Buffalo, New York and on the edge of Lake Ontario. However, based on the geography shown of the safe zone compared to a map of New York, it seems that the town would be located somewhere in either Lewiston, New York or Niagara Falls, New York, neither of which border Lake Ontario. That being said, there is no lighthouse in those areas as opposed to what is shown in the game.
    • It's further confirmed in the that Asyl is not located within Niagara Falls as several scouting groups leave Asyl and cross through Grand Isalnd to reach Niagara Falls.
      • Furthermore, Asyl first makes contact with a Niagara Falls Community after the events that transpired at Grand Island.
  • Despite being miles away from Buffalo, New York, they somehow managed to incorporate the office building that Sarah used to work at which is located in downtown Buffalo.
  • The lighthouse that's a part of the community most closely resembles the Tibbets Point Lighthouse. If true, this would mean that the community is about 230 Miles away from Buffalo, New York and thus make no sense why the group is going so far away for supplies while also knowing the danger they're setting themselves up for.
  • Despite being stated numerous times that Asyl borders Lake Ontario, Tracker Sebastian's story states that the community regularly fishes at Lake Erie.
    • This could possibly be explained with them having an outpost nearby that borders Lake Erie, something they do have as seen in Susan's Story. Furthermore, although it's known to be near a lake, it's unknown what lake it borders thus meaning it could be next to Lake Erie.
  • Rajesh's story takes place inside the State University of New York at Buffalo, which is located on the northernmost point of the city, and he tells a dying Frank that he will be going to Asyl which is located South of the University. This directly contradicts statements said in the game where Asyl is located north of Buffalo and near the Lake Ontario area.
  • The Cruise Ship is stated to have docked on the shore of Lake Erie despite the fact that the community is located on the shore of Lake Ontario.
  • In "Animal Hunting", it's stated that there is a forest to the west of the city, which Asyl is supposedly located in, that takes at least three hours to travel to. This is unusual as although there are nature preserves and parks west of Buffalo such as the Tifft Nature Preserve, Hammock Grove, Delaware Park, Rumsey Woods, Black Rock Canal Park, Mayors Park, and Pine Woods Park, none of these would actually be considered forests.
    • The nearest forested areas near Buffalo are North Tonawanda Audubon Nature Preserve, Niagara Falls State Park, Whirlpool State Park, Devil's Hole State Park, all of which are north of the city
    • Although not specified, it's possible they travelled into Canada as there are a number of forests that would be located west of Buffalo such as Waverly Beach Park, Old Lake Erie Beach Park, and Windmill Point Park.
      • Furthermore, Sebastian was tracking a group of cannibals, and it is known that at least one group of cannibals are known to be living in Canada.
        • It should be noted however that the group of Cannibals that he was tracking are not the ones who reside at The Racetrack. Furthermore, that group has renounced their cannibalistic ways and actually joined the Western New York Alliance.
    • Tracker Sebastian's picture, which is where this story comes from, depicts him as being near the Plane Crash Site, which is south of the city in the Allegheny Mountains.
