Calvin Deets is a character first encountered in The Walking Dead: The Road to Woodbury. He is described as "an older man, an emaciated chain-smoker probably in the late stages of emphysema". He has a face that's described as "an old saddlebag left out in the sun". He's a construction worker living in Woodbury.

"This Is How the World Ends"[]
Calvin works on Martínez's construction crew with Joshua Hamilton. After working with Josh for several weeks, the two become good friends. After Josh is killed, Calvin makes a coffin out of a piano case, the only container large enough to hold the man. It takes Bob and himself hours to dig Josh's grave in the frozen ground. He later attends Josh's funeral along with Lilly Caul, Bob Stookey, Megan Lafferty, Alice Warren, and Dr. Stevens where he removes his Caterpillar cap out of respect.

"Doomsday Clock"[]
Calvin takes part in the prison assault. He survives the first attack and retreats along with the rest of the militia. After Gabe's death, many more soldiers get killed one by one. Calvin is shot through the head and goes down in a burst of blood mist from the back of his skull, his Caterpillar cap flies off as he drops to the ground.
