This camp survivor is an antagonist and a survivor of the outbreak in Image Comics' The Walking Dead. He was the leader of his group, which included John, Amber, and the 5 survivors before they joined Negan's group.

Later, a conflict began between him and Negan, where he said that he could use women for his needs. He served as the primary antagonist of "Here's Negan".

Overview

Although only seen briefly, this man is shown to be very arrogant and aggressive. Initially, he seemed to be reasonable, as he is very friendly with Negan shortly after meeting him. However, it's revealed that this man is a rapist who sees women as "merchandise" for his own use and uses the apocalypse as his excuse. After Negan gives Amber his jacket to keep her warm, this man permits Negan to have sex with her, much to Negan's disapproval. The man quickly becomes angry with Negan and fights him, seeing him as a threat to his leadership. This leads to the man being brutally beaten by Negan's bat and becoming the first of his many victims.

"Chapter 13"

This survivor is first encountered when he and his group run into Negan and Dwight's group. Negan welcomes the group in to stay, but this man draws his gun on Negan, not initially trusting him. They start talking, and tensions die down. Later that night, the two groups sit around a campfire together. When Negan gives Amber his jacket to keep her warm, this survivor tells Negan he can "try the merchandise", implying permission to use Amber for sex.

"Chapter 14"

Being strictly against rape, Negan lectures the man on keeping his humanity and treating women with respect. This causes the man to attack Negan and push him into some barbed wire. Negan grabs his bat and hits the survivor around the head. He then proceeds to repeatedly beat the survivor's head until he is unrecognizable, killing him.

When this man offers Negan a chance to have his way with Amber, Negan is utterly disgusted. Angered by this, he attacks Negan, which results in Negan smashing his head in with Lucille.

Trivia

• He is the first person that Negan has killed using Lucille.
  • He is also Negan's first human kill.
  • Additionally, his death is very similar, and possibly a nod to Glenn's death in Issue 100. Both of them are beaten by Lucille to the point where one of their eyes pops out.
• He bears a resemblance to Derick. Both also share many similarities:
  • Both are in their late 30s with brown hair.
  • Both are leaders of their respective groups.
  • Both are the primary antagonists of the Negan spin-offs.
  • Both are also the first and last living characters Negan kills.
