“ | My dreams always seem so boring nowadays. I usually just, at home. Watching TV or something. I guess I just miss doing nothing sometimes. But doing nothing is just kid stuff. I need to grow up. Be strong. Protect my family. My sister. That's all that matters now.

Carl Grimes is a survivor of the outbreak in GameMill Entertainment's The Walking Dead: Destinies. He is the son of Rick and Lori Grimes.
Pre-Apocalypse[]
King County, Georgia[]
Carl was born in 1998 and grew up in King County, where he experienced an average childhood raised by his father, Rick Grimes (a sheriff deputy) alongside his mother Lori (a housewife). The three lived together as a typical family in King County, Georgia. He also befriended his father's closest friend and partner, Shane Walsh.
Over time however, his parents' marriage became increasingly strained due to their marital issues and Carl was often in the presence of his parents quarrels.
In summer 2010, his father was shot in the line of duty, putting him into a coma.
Post-Apocalypse[]
After the outbreak began, Shane took Lori and Carl to Atlanta for safety. They joined a small camp just outside the city.
Welcome to the Apocalypse[]
"Life Worth Living"[]
At the camp, Glenn and Merle/T-Dog return with Carl's father Rick, who he is shocked to see is alive. He and his mother quickly embrace Rick, as Shane looks on.
"Overrun"[]
A few nights later, the camp becomes overrun with walkers. Carl attempts to hide from the walkers behind a car, before he is rescued by Rick and escorted to the RV. Lori gets the RV started as Rick defends them and drives off to a vehicle jammed roadside.
Survival of the Fittest[]
"What Lies Ahead"[]
When a herd passes on the highway, Carl runs for cover with the rest of the group. Later, after Rick goes after Sophia, Carl insists on accompanying Shane to go check on him. Upon finding Rick, the two adults begin arguing over Sophia having gone missing. Meanwhile, Carl spots a deer nearby and attempts to approach it, when he is suddenly shot in the abdomen by an unseen Otis. Rick, Shane, and Lori rush him to the nearby farm, where its owner, Hershel temporarily stabilizes his injuries. Despite this, Hershel says that he does not currently possess the necessary medical equipment to perform the surgery to save Carl's life, but knows where it can be found. He tells Shane to go and take either Maggie or Beth with him.
"Bloodletting"[]
Save Maggie/Beth[]
If Shane chooses to save Maggie/Beth instead of retrieving the medical equipment, Carl succumbs to his wounds and dies off-screen. He is buried on the Greene farm.
"Better Angels"[]
Save Maggie/Beth[]
During Rick and Shane's final fight, flashbacks of things Carl said in the past appear in Rick/Shane's mind while attempting to kill the other.
Death (Determinant)[]
- Killed By
- Shane Walsh (Indirectly Caused)
- Otis (Accidental)
While searching for the missing Sophia, Carl is becomes mesmerized by a deer. The deer is then unexpectedly shot by Otis. The bullet pieces through the deer and hits Carl.
