The Catacombs of Paris are series of catacombs in France that appears in AMC's The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. They are an underground ossuary in Paris, Île-de-France for the victims of the Black Death.
Pre-Apocalypse[]
The catacombs were used as a burial ground for those who died in the Black Death.
During the Second World War, a bunker was built by the French inside of the catacombs during the Second World War and served as housing for both French and eventually German military officers during the course of the war.
Post-Apocalypse[]
At some point after the outbreak, the catacombs and the bunker were reclaimed by Quinn with the bunker being transformed into the Demimonde nightclub. Entrance to the nightclub was through a guarded gate into the catacombs which any visitors had to pass through.
Season 1[]
"Paris Sera Toujours Paris"[]
Daryl's Group is led by Fallou and Emile through the catacombs to the Demimonde nightclub. Fallou explains the catacombs history to Daryl as they pass through it, noting that France has survived many apocalypses and it will survive this one too.
"La Dame de Fer"[]
After Laurent is kidnapped by Quinn's men, Daryl forces Armand to reveal that there's another way to the Demimonde nightclub through the catacombs which are revealed to have walkers in parts of them. As Fallou, Emile, Bastien and Nadine distract the guards at the main entrance, Daryl and Armand sneak in through the catacombs. Once Armand shows him where to go, Daryl leaves the other man to be devoured by a small herd. After rescuing Laurent, Daryl escapes with the boy through the catacombs.
Season 2[]
"Vouloir, C'est Pouvoir"[]
When Losang and his forces enter the Demimonde in search of Laurent, Anna and her staff help Daryl, Laurent and Stéphane Codron to escape into the catacombs. While Laurent hides, the two men ambush Losang and his forces, killing all but Jacinta. The three then escape through the catacombs to the Montmartre Rooftop Community.
