Chad L. Coleman is an American actor who portrayed Tyreese Williams in AMC's The Walking Dead.
Biography
Coleman was born in Richmond, Virginia. Early in his life, he was removed from his parent's care due to being neglected and was raised by his grandmother following time in the foster system. Coleman gain an interest in acting following a leg injury that halted his track and field activity. He attented a local university on scholarship but dropped out to serve in the United States Army from 1995 to 1999 as a video camerman.
After returning home, Coleman went into acting. He landed his breakout role in 2004 on HBO's The Wire. Coleman appeared in other projects during this time including Monday Night Mayhem, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and Joe Turner's Come and Gone on Broadway in 2009.
Additionally, Coleman is executive producer, as well as visual inspiration for the character Mr. Osi of the futuristic graphic novel series Treadwater.
In 2015 following a public rant, Coleman created a PSA with the non-profit organization Living Advantage where fostering children is promoted as a fulfilling complement to adoption.

- He stated that his character was an ex-football player prior to the outbreak which would make it his third role as a former football player following his role on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit and in the video game Left 4 Dead 2.
