Nothing is known about the Chattahoochee River prior to the outbreak except that it forms the southern half of the Alabama and Georgia border, as well as a portion of the Florida-Georgia border.

The Chattahoochee River runs through the Dead Sector and is home to various wildlife, including alligators. Amy and her group of settlers attempted to set up a camp near the river but was ultimately wiped out. Prior to the camp's demise, Amy found two of her fellow survivors, Hannah and Pat, being attacked by the undead on the riverbank.
