Dale is a playable character in the mobile app, The Walking Dead: Assault.


Location Unknown

Not much is known about Dale's life before or when the outbreak started. It is known that he and his wife, Erma, traveled across America before the outbreak hit.


Episode 1: Days Gone Bye

Dale is available as a playable character from Episode 1.

Dale can meet up with the rest of the survivors and help them get to the Atlanta camp. Due to the game sharing the continuity of the Comic Series, it is known that Dale's wife Erma died in the early stages of the outbreak before Dale's arrival at the Atlanta camp.

Dale is unlocked in Episode 1, Chapter 6. His primary weapon is a sniper rifle and the secondary is a pickaxe.

Non-Canon Deaths

In every chapter Dale is taken along, it is possible for him to die and reanimate. To complete the chapter the other survivors have to kill the reanimated Dale. This is considered non-canon.


  • Dale is the slowest of all the characters.
  • Dale has the longest range of all characters when using his rifle.
