Almost nothing is known about Derek's life before or as the outbreak began, other than the fact that he was friends with T-Dog.

Post-Apocalypse

T-Dog and Derek drove to Atlanta for safety, but at some point, were seperated from each other. While on a mission to help T-Dog find Derek at a gas station, the two discover what has happened to him. Derek, reanimated, is put down, and his body is left inside the gas station.

While traveling to Atlanta with T-Dog, Derek was seperated from his friend. Sometime, Derek ended up being killed by walkers, and subsequently reanimated. At the gas station, either the Hero Player or T-Dog kill the reanimated Derek.
