Disruption Charges are a form of explosive used by the Civic Republic Military to divert herds.

Post-Apocalypse[]

Disruption charges were created by the CRM to help disperse herds. One known method of deployment is being air dropped from CRM helicopters.

World Beyond[]

While meeting with a delegation from the Campus Colony, Lieutenant Colonel Elizabeth Kublek promises that her forces will drop disruption charges to help drive away any empties drawn by the noise of their arrival.

While on a research expedition, after a herd dips a little too far south for comfort, Corporal Diane Pierce tells Leo Bennett and his team that they'll wait there until their disruption charges turns the herd away. However, Will Campbell worries that the charges could draw more empties from the south and he and Romano go to scout it out.

When a massive herd overruns the Civic Republic Research Facility, Jadis orders Diane to deploy disruption charges to divert the herd and to send all available teams to the western gates. However, there proves to be too many empties between the soldiers and the helicopters and they are forced to work to try to clear a path to the helicopters. Ultimately, the CRM is forced to abandon the research facility and retreat to the CRM basecamp.

Later, Diane reports that they have cleared a path to the helicopters. Jadis is pleased, ordering Diane to arrange for the helicopters to drop disruption charges on the herd to help clear it out.

The Ones Who Live[]

Cleo Clifton tells Michonne that explosions nearby are disruption charges that are being used to break up herds, although Michonne remains visibly suspicious given her own experiences with the CRM.

Rick notes that the CRM drops disruption charges every day at 21:00 hours and incorporates it into his escape plan for Michonne.

When a herd of 200 plus walkers threatens Cascadia Forward Operating Base, Thorne mentions that flybys and disruption charges are just bouncing off of the rock face, rendering them ineffective.

Killed Victims[]

  • Possibly numerous counts of zombies

Trivia[]

  • The charges are never actually seen, but they can be heard going off during the flashbacks in "Who Are You?".
