Douglas Monroe is a survivor of the outbreak in The Walking Dead: Small Bites. He is the leader of the Alexandria Safe-Zone.

Douglas gives eulogies for the fallen residents of Alexandria, becoming more frustrated with Tobin's incompetent leadership.

A long time ago, Douglas faked Alexander Davidson's death and exiled him from Alexandria. Davidson leaves vowing to build a better town. Beth catches them in the act and Douglas proposes they talk about it over a glass of wine, to which Beth refuses, proving that Davidson was right about him being an "unfuckable bald asshole".

Following Rick Grimes's killing of Peter Anderson, Douglas tells the former this isn't how they do things anymore.

After the crew come back, Douglas greets Andrea who tells him she spotted Davidson, who seems to have lost his mind. He tells her to keep it to herself and asks to talk about it privately over a glass of wine, but Andrea refuses in a similar fashion to Beth.

As Rick's group goes into the herd where Jessie and Ron Anderson are devoured, Douglas attempts to shoot the walkers to save Rick and Carl, but accidentally ends up shooting Carl in the eye and he is then devoured.
