“ | For the crimes against our children, against our community, we can sign you to death! The way of a liar is short! When this is over... there will be nothing left of you. This machine will crush your bones, la more will eat your rest, your blood will be absorbed by the Earth. You will die alone. Your name erased! Your memory lost! No punishment can equal this crime, but this we can do!

Durant is a former antagonist and a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's Tales of the Walking Dead. He is a resident of Madawaska, Maine. After Amanda's death, Durant became the new leader of the town.
Overview[]
Durant is a well-intentioned leader, however he also comes off as quite menacing and is willing to resort to brutal and ruthless methods. After catching Davon, the supposed killer of their children, Durant sentences him to die a cruel and painful death by being crushed inside a car, not knowing that Davon is actually innocent. After Arnaud is revealed to be the true killer, Durant feels guilt but also remains unmoved by Davon's speech about changing their ways. He watches as the townspeople beat Arnaud and after they proceed to throw him to the walkers to be devoured, Durant watches coldly with emotion. Even as the rest of the townspeople leave, Durant stays behind and still watches the walkers devour Arnaud.
Pre-Apocalypse[]
Madawaska, Maine[]
Nothing is known about Durant's life prior to or as the outbreak began, except that he lived in Madawaska, Maine.
Post-Apocalypse[]
Season 1[]
"Davon"[]
Durant is among the Madawaska townspeople to search the woods surrounding their settlement for the alleged murderer Davon. When he is finally captured and brought in front of the townspeople, Durant accuses the captured man of murder and demands he confesses his crimes before being put to death. He and the other townspeople are rabid with anger and determination for justice and ignore Davon's pleas of reasoning. After a man steps forward and displays an open palm, a sign of death in the Acadian community, Durant also displays an open palm, along with the rest of the townspeople. Davon is then dragged to his execution site where Durant watches as the innocent man is crushed inside a car before chaos breaks out in the crowd, of which Durant flees to safety. The next morning, he is among a group of townspeople to rush to the mill where Arnaud was exposed as the true murderer, responsible for the deaths of several children. As Davon addresses the crowd, he looks at Durant, who is racked with guilt and shame for his actions and condemning Davon to death the night before. Durant remains behind overlooking David and Greer's grave in a solemn manner as the rest of the townspeople return to their homes.
