Two days after the Endlings leave for New York, Dwyer is among the Campus Colony residents murdered in the massacre carried out by the Civic Republic Military.
"The Deepest Cut"[]
In a flashback to a dinner before Leopold Bennett and Will Campbell leave, Felix tells Leopold that he overheard that there was a second opening to lead his security detail for when he leaves Campus Colony. Felix says he'd assume that Dwyer would get the job until it is revealed that Will is the one who got the job.

Due to statistics stating that the community would be a drain on their resources, Elizabeth's superiors ordered an attack on Campus Colony and the complete extermination of its inhabitants. They bombed the safe-zone with chlorine bombs and then allowed the safe-zone to be overrun by the undead and shot any survivors afterwards.
