El Bazar ("The Bazaar" in Spanish Language) is a location featured in AMC's Fear the Walking Dead. It is a large, complex trading post set in an abandoned bullfighting stadium in Mexicali, Baja California.
Pre-Apocalypse
Before the outbreak, the location that would become El Bazar served as a bullring in the capital city of Mexicali, Baja California. It featured a large matador statue at the front of the stadium.
Post-Apocalypse
Sometime after the fall of civilization, survivors in Mexicali built a trading post in the abandoned stadium that eventually flourished into a thriving, lively trading hub that attracted more survivors from miles around. The trading post functioned on a barter system in order for survivors to gain entry to the stadium. Order was maintained by armed guards, and the trade officials spoke both Spanish and English fluently. Their leader, Proctor John, maintained a strict policy on debt within the trading post: no one is allowed to leave until their debt is paid, and those who cannot pay their debt will be forced to keep Infected away from the stadium.
