Upon approaching a checkpoint leading into Ciutat Vella, they are attacked by survivors from the Barcelona Refugee Community. Elena remains in her vehicle as soldiers and resistance fighters shoot at each other. At one point, she and Guillermo are transferred from one vehicle to another. Guillermo notices Elena staring at Paz, raising his suspicions. Her life almost ended after Laia shot a rocket towards her vehicle, but the projectile missed and struck the gate, thanks to Paz's efforts.
