Nothing is known about Faz's life prior to or as the outbreak began, except that he worked as a crew member on the USS Pennsylvania.

Faz is among the majority of the crew to have been killed in the outbreak aboard the submarine.
"Do What Needs Doing"
As Riley attempts to find help after having to put down Executive Officer Bacon, he witnesses Faz and several other undead eating two crewmembers in a corridor, including Middlebrook.
"This Ain't It"
Later, Faz and other undead crewmembers are shambling in a corridor when a bitten Lieutenant Pierce charges at them in an attempt to take them down so that Riley and McGuire may escape.
