Nothing is known about Garnier's life prior to or as the outbreak began aside that his mother would often try to set him and Isabelle up together.

Garnier is one of the many undead neighbors in Isabelle and Lily's apartment building in Paris. Daryl comments how noisy the undead neighbors are as he and Isabelle go through her old apartment, to which Isabelle replies that Mrs. Garnier used to try to set her up with her son. When Daryl and Isabelle try to leave the apartment, they encounter numerous undead neighbors in the hallway, possibly Garnier and his mother, to which they shut the door and find an alternate route out of the building.
