“ | I've been thinking about this night when I was a kid. 7 years old. I was thirsty, couldn't sleep, so I went to get some water. Old house, squeaky floorboards, trying not to wake my family. I was on the stairs, and I saw a light in the kitchen. It was orange. The crops were burning. I was so scared, I couldn't move. Then, my dad was there. He looked like a monster. Half his body was burnt, but he was there to get me out. He said I didn't need to be scared, that it was just the burning, that the flames were protecting the plants for the next harvest. He said, "It may look like the end of the world, but it's only just the beginning."
