"Guts" is the third episode of The Walking Dead: Destinies and the third part of "Welcome to the Apocalypse".
Synopsis[]
Rick and Morgan part ways, vowing to keep in touch via radio. Morgan tells Rick he heard rumors of a military camp in Atlanta that was providing shelter to survivors. Rick sets off toward Atlanta. However, upon reaching the city, he finds it overrun by the dead. All that's left to do is to continue searching for his family and keep hope alive.
Plot[]
Rick fights his way through the city, but finds himself caught in the middle of a horde of walkers and quickly finds a way inside of an abandoned tank.
Glenn Rhee spies Rick as he hides inside of a tank to escape the undead, so he runs down to help him by turning on the sirens of a fire truck to lure the walkers away.
Glenn radios Rick to make his way to way to the rooftop staircase. Once he does, they finds two men, Theodore Douglas and Merle Dixon, arguing over the former wasting ammo by shooting at walkers on the rooftop and drawing more near. Due to Merle's racism, the dispute quickly turns physical. Merle gets the upper hand and holds T-Dog down at gunpoint. Rick can either choose to do one of two options:
Defining Choice[]
Defuse the situation: Rick holds Merle at gunpoint and gets him to back off of T-Dog, giving him a speech that there aren't any differences between people anymore. Glenn tells Rick to give them a minute to calm down and the two go, leaving Merle and T-Dog alone. Merle then suddenly kicks T-Dog down and handcuffs him to a pipe. Merle leaves with T-Dog warning him that if he ever gets loose, he better pray.
Handcuff Merle: Rick suddenly hits Merle in the face with the butt of his rifle and then handcuffs him to a pipe, giving him a speech that there aren't any differences between people anymore. Rick then leaves with Merle warning him that if he ever gets loose, he better pray.
