Whoa, Eugene. What's the big deal? You're getting a rematch! What's your beef?!
―Harold to a furious Eugene.[src]

Main Article: Harold Abernathy (Novel Series)

Post-Apocalypse

Woodbury, Georgia

He sports a mullet and is enthralled by the sport of cage fighting. He seemed friendly and carefree. Dr. Stevens and Rick Grimes refuse to watch his matches, which greatly disappoints him. He knocks out Eugene's teeth during a fight, which greatly upsets Eugene. Harold is in the middle of the process of removing his bandages from the wounds he sustained during his fight with Eugene when Eugene comes in seeking revenge. Harold tries to calm him with no avail and get his neck stabbed as Eugene calls him a "fucker".

Death

Killed By

While being patched up by Stevens in the infirmary, an angry Eugene storms in and stabs Harold in the neck.

Relationships

Eugene Cooney

It is clear that Eugene and Harold were not friends, as proven when Eugene aggressively confronted Harold in Dr. Stevens' clinic after having his teeth knocked out by Harold. Their dialogue did not suggest any sort of friendship, and Eugene had no problem sticking a knife in Harold's throat as payback.

Dr. Stevens

They seemed to be on good terms. Although he didn't seem upset, he was greatly shocked after Eugene stabbed him, and panicked when he was unable to save him.

Rick Grimes

Whilst he was alive, Harold was reasonably friendly to Rick and wasn't hostile whilst they were in the hospital together. Rick was enraged that he was unable to save Harold after Eugene stabbed him
