Hayes (first name unknown) is a character in AMC's Fear the Walking Dead.
Pre-Apocalypse
Galveston County, Texas
Nothing is known about Hayes' life prior to or as the outbreak began, except that he worked as a corrections officer at the Galveston County Jail.
Post-Apocalypse
Season 6
"Mother"
Hayes was on guard duty at the prison where he worked, helping escort an unruly prisoner who was set to be executed. As Teddy tells George not to be afraid, that a new beginning was coming soon, Hayes sarcastically asks Teddy if he was ever tired of spewing "bullshit" before walking past his cell to the execution chamber.
A short time later, alarms begin to blare throughout the prison, and zombies shuffle down the corridor of death row cells, including a zombified Hayes and his fellow escorts. Hayes was killed after George was executed and reanimated, sparking an outbreak in the prison as the staff were caught by surprise. As the zombies began killing the other inmates, the undead Hayes wandered into Teddy's cell but was stabbed in the head with a pen, killing him. Prior to leaving his cell, Teddy commented to the dead Hayes that what he believes in is not bullshit but Revelation.

During the onset of the apocalypse, George was sent to be executed by lethal injection, which was administered by Hayes and several other prison officials. George reanimated shortly thereafter and bit Hayes on his neck.

After Hayes reanimates, he wanders into Teddy's cell. Teddy puts him down by stabbing him in the head with his pen.
