"This Is How the World Ends"[]
Hines is first encountered taking watch way up on the crest of the arena roof, on one corner of the upper deck where a machine-gun turret is mounted. After the conspirators' failed assassination attempt against the Governor backfires and they're escorted back into the town, Hines, who was not privy to the secret overthrow attempt, asks the group what happened to them because they're covered in blood and gore. Martínez tells him they just ran into some biter trouble and not to worry. The Governor asks Hines to take out a few stragglers from the herd that are slowly emerging from the trees and also asks him to shoot Broyles and Swede in the van before they reanimate, then take them to the morgue. Hines empties an entire bandolier of .762 millimeter cartridges into the walkers and lets out a victory yelp after. When he looks back, the Governor, Bruce, Gabe, Martínez and Lilly are nowhere to be seen.
