Pre-Apocalypse

One day, Nelly collapsed and this forced Hudson to start taking odd jobs as a middle schooler to pay for her medical bills. He would often visit his mom at the hospital whenever he had some free time, sometimes even sleeping at the hospital. Despite this, she eventually died but not before telling him to be true to himself.
