The following is a transcript of Episode 1: In Too Deep of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead: Michonne.

Forest

Michonne walks through a forest, cutting branches with a machete.

Michonne: I left so many people that I loved behind. So many, that I can hardly remember them all... But there are two--just two--that I can never forget. I thought I was done with them. But they're not done with me.

Michonne cuts a branch and gasps, hallucinating seeing her two daughters, Colette and Elodie. They run away, and she follows them, watching them disappear behind a door. She opens the door and steps into it. She hallucinates entering an apartment; Colette and Elodie sit on the floor, playing with toys. A walker approaches her, and she decapitates it in real life. She kills some more walkers, and returns to her hallucination. Her children are gone, and their toys are under the couch. She kills another walker. The girls run into another room in the background and close the door. A walker grabs her, and she chops its shoulder, but her weapon gets stuck. Returning to reality, a different walker grabs her, and she slams it into a campfire, but sees it in her hallucination as a fireplace. She presses its face into the flames with her foot and grabs another walker by the neck. As the first walker approaches, she takes the weapon out of its shoulder and kills the two of them. The burned walker crawls along the floor, and she stomps its head in. The door to the girls' room opens, and she walks toward it, but Pete exits the room.

Pete: Hey, thanks. Hey. You okay?

Michonne returns to reality, and collapses to the ground. More walkers approach. She takes out her gun and loads a single bullet.

Michonne: Some days I envy the dead.

Michonne cocks the gun and points it at her head.

Pete moves her hand away just before she fires.

Michonne drops the gun and Pete offers his hand.

Ship

3 Weeks Later

Colette: Mama? Where are you?

Michonne wakes up.

Michonne: Fuck... Can't sleep anyway.

Michonne gets up and leaves her room. Pete fiddles with a staticky radio.

Pete: (over radio) Rashid, come in, over... Vanessa? You there? Goddamn it.

Michonne: Hey, Pete.

Pete: Michonne? What are you doing up? Your shift isn't for another hour.

Michonne: Couldn't sleep.

Pete: You're having those nightmares again. You holding up okay? I worry about you. You're not the easiest to read... It's hard to tell how you're really doing.

Michonne: I honestly don't know.

Pete will remember that.

Pete: This stuff you're dealing with...it's not gonna go away overnight.

Michonne: Well, I'm not great.

Pete will remember that.

Pete: Hang in there. This stuff you're dealing with...it's not gonna go away overnight.

Michonne: Things are getting better. Slowly.

Pete will remember that.

Pete: You're not gonna get better overnight. These things take time.

Pete noticed your silence.

Pete: I didn't mean to pry or anything.

Pete: Just please tell me if, you know...if it gets as bad as it did.

Michonne: I just need to keep busy.

Pete: Oak! Oak!

Oak looks through the door.

Oak: What?

Pete: Get down here! Michonne's taking your shift!

Oak: Two minutes!

Oak leaves.

Pete: I still haven't heard from Rashid or Vanessa. It's not like those guys to be out of contact for this long. We trade every time I come through. Same spot. Everything's just...gone. It just doesn't make sense. Their boat is always anchored right on the dock. (over radio) Vanessa... Rashid, come in.

Michonne: You'll find them.

Pete: I hope you're right.

Michonne: They might've moved on. Left the area.

Pete: Not without telling us. They'd have left a message behind or something. They wouldn't just disappear.

Michonne: Something might've happened to them, Pete. Maybe they just...didn't make it.

Pete: And maybe they're still out there. Maybe they need our help. We just don't know. That's the problem.

Pete: (over radio) Anybody?

Pete: Maybe we can pass by again on our way back. Listen! You hear it? You hear it, right? Sounds like a woman's voice. (over radio) Vanessa? That you?

Michonne: I hear static.

Pete: No, no. It's--it's more than just static.

Michonne: I don't hear anything, Pete.

Pete: She's there, I just gotta find the right frequency...

Michonne: I think I hear something, yeah.

Pete: Hard to make out, though.

Pete: Damn it...lost her.

Oak enters the room.

Oak: Pete. Michonne. Again with the shortwave?

Pete: I'm not just giving up. This bay was full of boats just a year ago. They went somewhere.

Oak: If they left, it was probably for good reason.

Pete: Then I want to know why. (over radio) Hello--hello, can you hear me? Hello?

The woman on the radio says something.

Pete: You heard it that time, right? She said "help".

Oak: I don't know, Pete. Didn't sound like Vanessa.

Pete: But it's someone. She might know what happened here. No. Damn it. We're losing the signal. Look. If we don't start caring about the people that are out there--we're no better than the damn walkers!

Oak: All we'll find out there is trouble, Pete.

Pete: I mean it. What's the point in just surviving? We gotta do better than that.

Michonne: Alright, so let's help her.

Pete will remember that.

Pete: At least someone gets it. You're the only one on this boat that even comes close to understanding. Not Berto. Not Siddiq. Especially not fucking Oak. You know there are people worth helping.

Michonne: Not everyone deserves saving.

Pete will remember that.

Pete: And what if I'd felt that way? Back when I met you? You should understand why I'm doing this. None of the others do. Not Berto. Not Siddiq. Especially not fucking Oak. But you... You know there are people worth saving.

Michonne: Can't save them all.

Pete will remember that.

Pete: And what if I'd felt that way? Back when I met you? You should understand why I'm doing this. None of the others do. Not Berto. Not Siddiq. Especially not fucking Oak. But you... You know there are people worth saving.

Pete noticed your silence.

Pete: I thought you'd be on my side with this. You should know there are people worth helping.

Pete: Take over for me, okay? I'm gonna turn the boat around.

Pete leaves, and Michonne takes his seat.

Michonne adjusts the dials until she can hear something.

Sam: (over radio) Hello? Hello. Is anyone there? We could use some help. Please be there. Anyone... Hello?

Michonne: (over radio) Where are you?

Sam: (over radio) Holy shit, it works! We're on the Mobjack--

Michonne: (over radio) Who am I talking to?

Sam: (over radio) Holy shit, it works! This is Sam--

Michonne: (over radio) Are you in danger?

Sam: (over radio) Holy shit, it works! Listen, my family--

Sam: (over radio) Listen, my family--

The radio cuts out.

Sam: (over radio) We're on the Mobjack--

Michonne turns off the radio.

Pete returns.

Pete: Anything?

Michonne: I heard her. Barely.

Pete: I knew it!

Oak: This is a bad idea, Pete. You want to find more people, you're forgetting what people are like.

Pete: What did she--?

The ship rumbles and shakes.

Pete: Shit!

Oak: What the--? Ah, bloody hell!

Siddiq: We're snagged!

Berto: Can't see a damn thing!

Pete: Everyone okay? Berto! Siddiq!

Berto: You guys better get up here!

Pete, Oak, and Michonne walk onto the top deck of the ship.

Michonne: What'd we hit?

Berto: Hell if I know! I can't see a damn thing.

Pete: Berto, hold the wheel steady! Take in those sails! Now!

One of the ropes attached to the sails snaps.

Pete: Siddiq! Get down!

Michonne tackles Siddiq and gets hit by the sail.

Siddiq: Are you alright? Thanks for the save.

Siddiq helps Michonne up.

Siddiq gets hit by the sail.

Siddiq: Argh! Goddamn it! Damn it! Motherfucking shit!

Michonne: Hold on. Give it a minute.

Michonne helps Siddiq up.

Pete: Jesus... Oak, get the jib under control!

Oak: That damn shortwave... You just had to take us in close. Right into a fucking rock--

Pete: Hey, I've been sailing these waters for years. There aren't any rocks here.

Oak: Well, then what the hell was that?

Pete: Something else.

Berto: You said it yourself, something's going on around here.

Oak: This place isn't safe anymore, Pete! Your friends are gone, and whatever scared them off is gonna find us next. I told you this was a bad idea!

Siddiq: You're just being paranoid.

Oak: It's not paranoia if you're right. We're stuck out here, nowhere to go!

Berto: We shouldn't have been wasting our time out here.

Michonne: Enough!

Pete: She's right. If we're gonna get out of this, you all need to shut the hell up and listen.

Michonne: Stop! We need to free the boat! That's our priority.

Pete: She's right. All this talk isn't doing anything to get us out of here.

Michonne: You all need to calm down! We don't know anything yet.

Pete: She's right. Panicking about it won't make us any less stuck.

Pete: It's time for everyone to shut the hell up and listen!

Oak: That girl on the shortwave...what if she's part of it?

Pete: Guys, pull it together! Oak! Siddiq! Get those sails tied down. Once we've checked for damage, we can haul off, ease our way out. Go on!

The others leave.

Pete: Michonne. What exactly did she say?

Michonne: I didn't hear a damn thing. It was all static.

Michonne: She sounded young, and scared. I doubt she's a threat.

(If Michonne asked Sam where she was or turned off the radio.)

Michonne: She said "Mobjack".

Michonne: I couldn't make out more than that.

(If Michonne asked Sam's name.)

Michonne: She said her name was Sam. I couldn't hear much else.

(If Michonne asked if Sam was in danger or said nothing.)

Michonne: She said something about family. I couldn't make out more than that.

Pete: You're really not gonna tell me?

Pete: Michonne, take these. See if you can figure out what we got stuck on.

Pete gives Michonne binoculars and a flashlight. Just, um--see if we're close to anything. I mean, I need to know what our options are. We just need to get ourselves moving again. For all our sakes.

Michonne: Not much to see out there...

Michonne: It's too dark to see much of anything...

Michonne: Seems pretty quiet.

Michonne shines the flashlight on the water.

Michonne looks over the edge of the boat.

Pete: Yeah, I know...working on it.

Michonne: This should start producing fruit... One of these days.

Michonne: These things are ancient. No wonder they broke.

Michonne: Running low on rice. Need to find some food soon.

Michonne: What's that?

Michonne: Looks complicated.

Oak: Hey, Michonne, we could use a hand here!

Siddiq: Hey, we gotta bleed the wind outta this sail!

Oak: I stand by what I said. Pete isn't cautious enough.

Siddiq: Look, he's just an optimist.

Oak: You call it what you like, but we shouldn't be tryin' to find people. We should be staying the hell away from them. Look where we are. You think this is an accident? Damn wind. Grab it! Grab it!

Michonne: You ever stop complaining, Oak?

Oak will remember that.

Oak: Yeah. Yeah, I might--if you and Pete didn't give me so damn much to complain about.

Michonne: Pete's captain of this damn boat. Show some respect.

Oak will remember that.

Oak: Hey, I respect the hell out of Pete. That doesn't mean I can't see when he's lost his way.

Michonne: You saying this is a trap?

Oak will remember that.

Oak: People will do anything to survive these days. And to get their hands on a boat like this...

TBC

Siddiq: Oh, you think you've got it all figured out, don't you? Thanks. We can take it from here.

Talk to Pete

Michonne: Pete.

Pete: Find anything?

Michonne: Saw a ferry. Marooned near the shore.

Pete: A ferry? Didn't see a ferry last time I was here.

Pete: Might have what we need to fix this damn thing.

Pete: Tiller lever's shot. It snapped in two.

Michonne: The what?

Pete: Tiller lever. Connects the wheel to--

Michonne: Look, I don't know shit about boats. Just tell me what you need, Pete.

Pete: Might have what we need to fix this damn thing. It's the best option we've got.

Michonne: Look, I just want to get out of here. Whatever helps you do that, I'm on board.

Pete: Rashid would be able to help us, if we can find him. It's worth a shot.

Michonne: Let's get to that ferry. I don't want to be stuck here any longer than we have to be.

Pete: Can't argue with that. Maybe we can find some sign of Rashid's group.

Michonne: What about your friends? You think they could be out there?

Pete: Hopefully we find some sign of them. Rashid knew the area better than anybody. He'd know where to find the parts we need.

Pete: Right. Maybe we can find some sign of Rashid's group.

Pete: Just find out what we're stuck on first.

Pete: Whatever we ran into...did a goddamn number on the boat. Damn.

Talk to Pete Again

Michonne: Pete.

Pete: Let's fix this mess and get going again.

Talk to Pete Again

Pete: Never had a tiller break like this. Pretty sure it's not under warranty anymore.

Michonne uses the flashlight on the starboard side of the ship. She sees a boat beneath the water.

Michonne: There it is... Hey, Pete. Figured out what we're stuck on.

Pete: Damn... At least it's not Rashid's boat.

Berto: Hey, Michonne. Hope no one's still on that boat. I don't want to die like that. Sorry... I've just seen a lot of bad shit go down. I just--I don't wanna see this fall apart, you know? I've seen better places than this get torn to shreds. I like it here.

Michonne: You have no idea how bad it can get out there.

Berto will remember that.

Berto: Right. You've seen the worst of it. The rest of us are just living cushy fucking lives, like we haven't been through hell to get here. Why do I even talk to you?

Michonne: You're not the only one.

Berto will remember that.

Berto: I shouldn't let him see me slacking off like this.

Michonne: It's not gonna fall apart.

Berto will remember that.

Berto: Maybe you're right. I shouldn't let him see me slacking off like this.

Berto noticed that.

Berto: I get it. I'll leave you alone. I shouldn't let him see me slacking off like this.

Michonne uses the binoculars on the prow of the ship. She sees a boat.

Siddiq: You see anything out there?

Michonne: Looks like an old ferry.

Siddiq: Could be worth checking out. Ya know, extra parts, maybe some food...

Michonne: Maybe.

After Michonne finds the ferry and the boat and tells Pete, he walks across the ship.

Pete: Let's round up the crew.

The rest of the crew gathers around.

Pete: Michonne and I will scout the ferry. See what we can find.

Berto: Alright, so we're just gonna sit around waiting for you?

Pete: You wish. You've got work to do.

Berto: You didn't answer my question, though.

Siddiq: Christ, here we go again.

Berto: Guys...

Pete: You three... Kedge the boat, pull her out of here and lay anchor near the shoreline.

Berto: Got it.

Pete: Don't go anywhere. Stay near the boat. Keep her safe.

Michonne picks up the sharpening stone and machete. She sharpens the blade and puts it away.

Oak: Don't let this turn into a rescue mission. Forget his friends, right? Best get the parts and get back here. Pete means well, but you know what they say about good intentions.

Michonne: We'll get what we need and get out. That's the plan.

Oak will remember that.

Oak: Good.

Michonne: I can't make that promise. If someone's in trouble, I'm not going to just leave them.

Oak will remember that.

Oak: We can't lose anyone else.

Michonne: You trying to order me around?

Oak will remember that.

Oak: No, that's not what I meant. We can't lose anyone else.

Michonne: I can handle myself.

Oak noticed that.

Oak: Only a friendly warning. Get him back safe, Michonne.

Pete: Come on. Let's get going. You ready?

Michonne and Pete get into a lifeboat and sail away from the ship.

Lifeboat

Pete: Sure is quiet out here, huh? Not a sound. Kind of peaceful, in a way... Don't you think?

Michonne: I don't know... Something's not right.

Pete: Ever the optimist.

Michonne: It would be, if you weren't talking so damn much.

Pete: Ouch. I can't tell if you're joking.

Michonne: Probably a good sign. Trouble usually isn't quiet.

Pete: I suppose that makes you the exception.

Pete: I"m gonna take that for a "yes", then.

They sail past some bodies in the water.

Pete: You know, something's really been bothering me, and I have to ask...

Michonne: What?

Pete: Do you think this looks dumb? (gestures to earring)

Michonne: Oh, what?

Pete: I don't know... Oak's been giving me shit about it. Says I look like a pirate. What do you think? Be honest. I wanna know.

Michonne: That's your big question? You're worried about a damn earring?

Pete: A man's gotta look good, doesn't he? Just trying to make you laugh a little.

Michonne: Well, the man's not wrong.

Pete: Hey, now.

Pete takes out his earring and throws it into the water.

Pete: Damn.

Michonne: Fuck Oak. What does he know?

Pete: (chuckles) I knew you were alright. I think it ties the look together.

Pete: Jesus, is it that bad?

Pete takes out his earring and throws it into the water.

Pete: So much for that.

Pete: Knew I'd get you to loosen up sooner or later. You're always so serious. It's gotta be exhausting. I'm sure you have your reasons. Just makes it hard to get to know people.

Michonne: Not much to laugh about these days. Not that it ever stopped you.

Pete: Being grim about it...does that make it all okay?

Michonne: I think you're exaggerating.

Pete: This is you. (frowns and looks serious)

Michonne: Alright, I get it.

Michonne: Don't test your luck, now.

Pete sighs.

Pete: You know, when we first brought you onboard, never thought you'd decide to stick around. You didn't talk to anybody. I just assumed you'd take off the minute you got your strength back. Hell, I keep expecting to wake up and find this dinghy gone and you with it. But here you are. Haven't got sick of me yet.

Michonne: What can I say? You're not terrible company.

Pete will remember that.

Pete: (laughs) I'm flattered.

Michonne: Is this your way of telling me to get out?

Pete will remember that.

Pete: (laughs) Hell no. I'm just glad, is all. Everyone needs someone out here. Couldn't imagine going it alone like you did. Not for that long, anyway.

Michonne: I'm not staying here forever, Pete.

Pete will remember that.

Pete: No one's gonna keep you here if you don't want to be here.

Pete noticed your silence.

Pete: Well...I'm glad you're here, anyway.

Pete: When we met, you were... I mean, I saw what you were about to do. You haven't had it easy out there. I know you mostly keep to yourself. And I don't want to make you talk about it. Not unless you want to.

(If Michonne pulled the trigger.)

Michonne: Why'd you stop me? You pulled the gun out of my hand.

Pete: If you hadn't shown up... Figured I owed you.

(If Michonne lowered the gun or did nothing.)

Michonne: I wasn't gonna do it. I hope you know that.

Pete: I--I didn't know that.

Michonne: It's not being alone that's the problem. It's...everything else. The past has a way of catching up with you.

Pete: The nightmares, you mean.

Michonne: I can't stop moving, not even for a minute. When things are quiet, I end up...thinking too much.

Michonne: Being out on the water, keeping busy...it helps. If I stop, even for a minute, it starts to catch up to me again. When things are quiet, I end up...thinking too much.

Pete: It's okay.

Pete: You know, before this, I was just...on my own. Like you were. Convinced myself I liked it that way. But after a while, I just--

A walker emerges from the water and grabs onto the boat. Michonne kills it, but another one emerges.

Pete: Michonne! Behind you!

Michonne kills the walker and kicks it away. More of them approach.

Pete: Look out!

They kill two more walkers.

Pete: Boat's going down! Our only chance is to--

A walker pulls Pete into the water. More of them rock the boat, and Michonne falls in as well. A walker grabs her, and she kicks it away, resurfacing under the overturned boat. She kills another walker and swims a short distance away. Pete climbs up some rocks and offers his hand.

Pete: Grab my hand! Hurry up!

Pete helps Michonne climb up.

Ferry

Pete: That... That was almost us. Guess I should've kept my mouth shut, huh? I can't believe it. Jesus. (laughs)

Michonne: Something funny, Pete?

Pete: Huh?

Michonne: Why the hell are you laughing?

Pete: I am? I guess I just laugh when I'm scared shitless.

Michonne: Thanks for having my back.

Pete: Me? No, you did all the work. Damn, that's twice you've saved my life.

Michonne: That could've been a lot worse, you know.

Pete: Yeah. I know.

Michonne says nothing.

Pete: I don't like this. Might be someone who can tell us where everyone went. There's no sign of anyone. Just those fucking crows.

Michonne: Something might've scared them off.

Pete: I hope you're right. Maybe they found someplace better.

Michonne: They're probably all dead, Pete.

Pete: You always expect the worse, don't you?

Michonne: They could be in there somewhere.

Pete: Yeah. Being really quiet.

Michonne says nothing.

Pete: Well, unless we can find another boat... Looks like we're stuck here. Looks abandoned... Doesn't mean it is, though.

Michonne: Let's see if we can find your friends.

Pete: It doesn't look like anyone's here anymore...but maybe we'll find something inside.

Pete: I thought you'd given up on them.

Michonne: Doesn't hurt to look.

Pete: What happened to "they probably moved on"?

Michonne: Doesn't hurt to look.

Michonne: Let's just get what we need and get back.

Pete: Sometimes I think you love that boat more than I do.

Michonne: We'll figure something out.

Pete: Glad you're feeling so optimistic.

Pete: Just talking to myself, I guess.

Michonne: Looks like there's two ways in. The ladder or the window.

Michonne: Those walkers aren't going to stay put for long. We need to get going.

Michonne: Close quarters in there. Easy to get trapped if we're not careful.

Pete: Someone took a lot of care to keep this ferry from listing.

Michonne: Wonder where they are.

Michonne: We could get to upper deck this way. If this thing doesn't fall apart.

Michonne: This patch has been welded on.

Pete: This is fresh work.

Michonne: There's an antenna up there. Might be the signal we picked up.

Pete: She might still be inside.

Michonne: That girl said the name "Mobjack". Wonder if this is what she was talking about.

Michonne: The Mobjack.

Michonne: Alright, let's hope this thing holds. Come on. Don't fall.

Pete: Thanks.

Michonne and Pete start to climb the ladder when walkers approach. She loses her footing, but manages to hold on.

Michonne: Ah!

Pete: Michonne!

A walker grabs Pete's foot, but he shakes it off. Michonne reaches the top of the boat.

Michonne: Pete! Hurry.

Pete kicks away a walker, but another one grabs his leg. Michonne grabs his arm and pulls him up.

Pete: Seems like this place was someone's home for a while.

Michonne: Do you think your friends came through here?

Pete: It's hard to be sure.

Michonne: We should look around.

Michonne: Think we can float back to the Companion on this?

Pete: Ha.

Michonne: So many crows.

Pete: Nothing around for them to eat, though.

Michonne: I noticed.

Michonne: Here we go.

Michonne: Nothing but a hunk of old metal.

Michonne: Rebar.

Michonne takes the rebar.

Michonne: This place isn't in great shape.

Michonne looks at the door.

Michonne and Pete look at the map.

Pete: (points to map) Maybe we'll find something down there.

Michonne: We'll have to go through the cafe to get to the stairs.

Pete: You're just looking for Mr. Honey Bars.

Michonne: Always.

Michonne tries to open the door.

Michonne: Locked.

Pete: If one of us can get our hand through here--maybe we can unlock it.

Michonne: Blade's too thin. It'll just break.

Michonne uses the rebar to pry open the door.

Pete: Nice!

Michonne looks through the door.

Michonne: I don't see anything... Doesn't mean there's nothing there, though.

Pete: Now...the question is, which one of us wants to reach in there to open it? One of us has to do it... Right? I mean, I'm sure we'd hear something, if anything was on the other side. Pretty sure we'd hear something.

Michonne: Go right ahead.

Pete: Okay, okay. I'm ready for this.

Pete reaches his hand through the door.

Pete: Almost got it. Just--oh! oh! Ah! Ahhh! Ahhhh!

Michonne draws her machete, but Pete takes his hand out of the door and laughs.

Pete: Wow. You should see your face... You really thought something had me!

Michonne: I almost took off your hand!

Pete: Shit... Thanks for not doing that.

Michonne: You are such an ass!

Pete: Come on, it was funny.

Michonne: Hilarious, Pete.

Pete: (laughs) Yeah, I got you going for a moment.

Michonne: (chuckles) It'd be funnier if I chopped your arm off. Maybe brained you just to be safe.

TBC

Michonne: I'll do it. Well. Here goes nothing.

Pete: Be careful...

Michonne reaches her hand through the door and unlocks it.

TBC

Michonne tries to open the door.

Michonne: Need some help, Pete.

Pete: Ready when you are.

Michonne and Pete push the door open and see blood on the floor.

Michonne: Come on.

They enter through the door.

Michonne: What happened here?

They notice two corpses with their hands bound.

Pete: Oh, god.

Michonne: These aren't your friends.

Pete: No. No. They don't look like walkers. Wonder what happened to them?

Michonne examines the bullet wound.

Michonne: Whoever did this made sure they wouldn't come back.

Michonne examines the zip ties.

Michonne: Their wrists are zip-tied. They couldn't fight back.

After Michonne examines the zip ties and bullet wound, she gets up.

Michonne: These people hadn't turned. They were executed.

Pete: Jesus... Holy shit...

Pete picks up a photo of two children and shows it to Michonne. She hears the voices of her children and herself in her head.

Colette: Don't leave us here!

Elodie: We want to come with you!

Michonne: You have to stay here. I'll be back soon.

Colette: Mommy, when are you coming back?

Pete: This photo--these are their kids! Vanessa and Rashid were here! If they left this behind--Michonne? You okay? You've got that look--same look you had when... Haven't seen it in a while.

Michonne: I'm fine.

Pete: You don't look fine. Alright.

Michonne: Does it seem like I'm okay?

Pete: No, sorry.

Michonne: I--I can't deal with this. Not right now.

Pete: Yeah. I understand.

Pete: Okay, I'm not gonna push you...

Pete: They wouldn't have left this on purpose. But...I gotta hope they're still alive. That they made it off this thing.

They hear walkers growling, and they sneak down the stairs.

Michonne: I hope you're not afraid of the dark.

Michonne and Pete enter through the window.

Pete: It smells awful in here. I don't see it...

Michonne turns on the flashlight and looks at the corpses and blood on the floor. A walker approaches them.

Pete: I've got it.

Pete kills the walker, and Michonne kills three more. They see corpses lined up against a wall with their hands tied.

Michonne: These people weren't walkers. They were executed.

They discover that one of the corpses is a little girl.

Pete: No... Oh, no...

Michonne imagines the girl as her daughter. She hears the voices of her children and herself in her head.

Colette: Don't leave us here!

Elodie: We want to come with you!

Michonne: You can't come with me, okay?

Colette: Mommy, when are you coming back?

Pete: Who would do this to a child? I mean, I know the world's gone to hell.

Michonne: It's awful. All of it. But the child...

Pete: I know.

TBC

Michonne: This is just how it is now. Reasons don't matter.

Pete will remember that.

Pete: It damn well matters. Or we're no better than them.

Pete noticed your silence.

Pete: I knew it was bad--but I didn't expect this.

Michonne: Looks like this thing got a lot of use.

Michonne: They made sure none of them would come back.

Michonne: Zip ties behind the back. Like the police used.

Michonne: Looks like all these shells came from an assault rifle.

Pete: These people never had a chance.

Michonne: Hope we're not here long enough to need this.

Pete: There's no fuel in it anyway.

Michonne: Blood. So much goddamn blood.

Michonne and Pete walk up to the cafe doors.

They find a tied up walker in front of the cafe door.

Michonne: If we're gonna find anything in this boat, it'll be in here.

Pete: Jesus. Someone strung him up and left him to be eaten...

Michonne decides to kill the walker.

Michonne: Stand back.

Michonne chops the walker with her machete.

Pete: We should cut him down.

They cut the ropes around the walker's hands.

Pete: Poor bastard.

Pete moves the walker aside.

Pete: What we saw up there... The execution of those people...what was done to that poor man...

Pete: I've never seen anything like this. All those people...just massacred.

Pete: Who the fuck could have done that? It wasn't war. It wasn't even self-defense. It's just sick...

Michonne: No one else did this to them. They did it to each other. I've seen it before. This world changes the best of us. Sometimes for the worst.

Pete will remember that.

Pete: Not like this.

Michonne: Focus on finding the girl, then we can worry about who did this.

Pete: You're right.

Michonne: This isn't our fight, Pete. It's done. Nothing we can do will bring these people back.

Pete will remember that.

Pete: You sound just like Oak.

Pete: I just can't believe someone would do this.

Pete approaches the door.

Michonne: Hold up. We don't know what's in there.

Michonne slowly opens the door.

Pete: What do you see?

Michonne: There's a door.

Pete: See anything else?

Michonne: Cash register.

Michonne looks at the duffel bag.

Michonne: There's a duffel bag. Looks like it's in good shape.

Pete: Any sign of people? No walkers, right?

Michonne: Looks clear.

Michonne: I don't see anyone.

Michonne: Looks quiet, but keep your guard up.

Pete: My guard's always up, thanks.

Pete: Not really needing the extra suspense here.

Michonne opens the door. She and Pete enter the cafe.

Cafe

Michonne unzips the duffel bag.

Michonne: Someone scavenged everything else, but left this? Makes no sense...

Pete: I know, but, damn... We could really use this stuff.

Michonne: Oh, my god... Mary Lillie's Peaches and Beans. I used to have these three times a day--breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Drove my mom crazy.

Michonne: Bunch of medicine.

Pete: Where'd all this stuff come from?

Michonne: Plenty of ammunition.

Michonne: Cigarettes.

Pete: Don't show those to Berto. We finally just got him to quit.

Michonne: We should see what else we can find.

Michonne: This thing's probably been empty for years, but who knows.

Michonne kicks the vending machine.

Pete: You think candy bars are just going to magically pour out of there?

Michonne: Hey, never hurts to try.

Michonne kicks the vending machine.

Michonne kicks the vending machine, and a chocolate bar falls out.

Michonne: What'd I tell you?

Michonne puts the chocolate bar away.

Michonne: Wonder if it's still any good.

Michonne: Never know when you're gonna find another one of these.

Michonne puts the drink in the duffel bag.

Michonne: Locked.

Michonne: Someone had a sweet tooth.

Michonne picks up the jar.

Pete: Haven't had one of those in years.

Michonne: Who said I was gonna share?

Michonne puts the jar of candies in the duffel bag.

Michonne: We should take this on board, start charging folks for boat tours.

Michonne: Money's still here.

Pete: No use to anyone now.

The bandages have rainbows, hearts, and crowns on them.

Michonne: Cute.

Michonne: Oak will love these.

Michonne puts the bandages in the duffel bag.

Pete: All just lying here, waiting for us. We can't just leave it. I mean, I agree, it's a little odd.

Michonne: I don't like it.

Michonne: Feels like a trap.

Michonne: We should take it.

Pete: I don't know about this.

Michonne: Someone forced it.

Pete: Anything?

Michonne: Empty.

Something pounds on one of the other lockers from the inside; Pete and Michonne approach it and draw their weapons.

Michonne: Whoever's in there--come on out.

Michonne reaches toward the locker.

Michonne raises her machete.

Michonne says nothing.

Greg opens the locker and points his gun at them.

Pete: Oh, shit.

Greg: Back up. (fires warning shot) Back up!

Pete and Michonne step back, and Greg exits the locker. Sam enters the room.

Sam: Greg? What's going on?

Sam shakily points her gun at Pete and Michonne.

Pete: Easy. Easy.

Sam: Who the hell are you people?

Greg: Who are you?

Pete: Look, kid, just--

Greg: Tell me! Now!

Sam: Careful.

Michonne: I'm Michonne. That's Pete. We're just passing through.

Sam: Yeah, sure you are.

Michonne: Drop your weapons.

Greg: You first.

Michonne: I'm not asking.

Sam: Don't listen to her.

Michonne: Calm down. We're not here to hurt anyone.

Sam: Neither are we.

Greg: Talk!

Pete: Just calm down...

Sam: That bag belongs to us. So step aside, alright? Don't be stupid. I don't want to do this. But we need that stuff. So just back up.

Pete: We get it. Okay?

(If Michonne collected supplies.)

Michonne: Some of our stuff is in there. Let us take it and--

Sam: Not gonna happen.

(If Michonne collected no supplies.)

TBC

Michonne: Take it. It's yours.

Michonne: No way. That bag is ours.

Sam: I'm the one with the gun. Remember?

Greg: What do we do now?

Sam: Just grab the bag and let's go.

Walkers break through the door.

Greg: Damn!

Greg shoots a walker in the chest, and it grabs him.

Sam: Greg! Hold on!

Sam fires at the walker, but doesn't manage to kill it. Michonne kills many of the walkers, including the one attacking Greg.

Greg: Wh--wh--

Michonne stabs a walker, and her machete gets stuck. She kills another one with the cash register, and Pete kills one approaching her. Sam grabs the duffel bag and starts to run.

Michonne: Hey!

Pete: Stop her!

Michonne tries to wrestle the bag from Sam.

Sam: Let me go!

Michonne does nothing.

Gabby kicks open the door and points her gun at them. Sam and Michonne step backward.

Gabby: Hey. Stay put. Randall!

Sam: Shit...

Several more people enter the room.

Randall: Looks like you caught our thieves. Nice job

Randall signals to the two near him, and they surround the group and point their weapons at them.

Randall: (to Sam) You. Man, you gotta be kidding me... And you've got help this time. Interesting. Thought you were a solo act. Guess we had you figured wrong.

Michonne: We're not looking for trouble, okay? Just let us go.

Pete: We can sit down and talk it out.

Randall: We'll talk, alright, but not here.

Michonne: What the hell is going on?

Randall: Don't play dumb.

Pete: This is a misunderstanding.

Michonne: We're not with her.

Sam will remember that.

Sam: What?!

Michonne: We didn't have anything to do with this.

Pete: This is a misunderstanding.

Randall: Not sure I believe you.

Michonne says nothing.

A decapitated walker clacks his jaw.

Randall: (whistles) Damn. I know Sam here didn't do all this. Get them all onto the boat. And be careful. These new ones aren't fucking around. We'll take them to Norma. They try anything...shoot 'em.

The soldiers bind the group's hands.

Boat

Everyone sails along in a small boat. Michonne's group is tied up and blinfolded.

Gabby: Let's see... Two canteens, a lighter, pocket knife... Machete.

Randall: Any bites? Rashes? Coughing?

Gabby: No, they're clean.

Pete: You know, we're gonna need those weapons back.

Randall: Don't worry, you'll get them back. Once we've cleared all of this up.

Sam: Bullshit.

Randall: Watch it, girl. You're in deep enough already. You know, if I had my way, I'd just dump you over the side. See how well you swim with your hands tied behind your back. Norma's got other ways of doing things. You're lucky she's calling the shots.

Greg: Listen, I know we can work something out--

Someone fires a warning shot.

Randall: Was I talking to you?

Sam: Don't say anything, Greg.

Pete: Guy might talk to me. Maybe I can get him to listen to reason. Though he doesn't seem like the most reasonable guy... But might be worth a shot.

Michonne: You can't talk to this asshole.

Michonne: Be careful, alright?

Michonne: Let me do the talking.

Pete: Just say the word and I'll--

Randall: Hey, cut the chatter. You speak when spoken to, understand? Alright.

Randall removes Michonne's blindfold.

Randall: You. We'll start with you. What's your name? It's okay, you can tell me. I'm just making conversation.

Michonne: Fuck you.

Randall will remember that.

Randall: Is that spelled with an "F" or a "P-H"? Oh, it's alright. You don't have to tell me. I'll just call you "thief".

Michonne: My name's Michonne.

Randall will remember that.

Randall: Randall. Now that the, uh, pleasantries are behind us... Let's talk about what you did.

Michonne: You first.

Randall will remember that.

Randall: Where did my manners go? I'm Randall.

Michonne: Michonne.

Randall: Now that we've got that out of the way... Let's talk about what you did.

Randall: Oh, it's alright. You don't have to tell me. I know all I need to know.

Sam: We didn't take anything from you!

Randall: Shut. Your mouth. I'm talking to your cohort. Bet we're not the only ones you've stolen from.

Michonne: She's the one you should be talking to.

Randall: But you're so much more interesting.

Michonne: I didn't steal shit from you.

Sam: We just found that bag. She's probably the one who took it--

Randall: I wasn't talking to you.

Randall: Then you've got nothing to worry about.

Michonne: Look, you have your bag back. Seems like we're done.

Randall: Not quite.

Michonne says nothing.

Randall: Let's see here... (picks up machete) Nice machete. You handled those walkers back there, but how are you against something that can actually fight back? It's plenty sharp. You take good care of this blade. I can tell.

Michonne: Nah... Machete's not really my thing.

Randall will remember that.

Randall: I'll bet.

Michonne: Untie me and I'll show you.

Randall will remember that.

Randall: I'll bet. Weapon like this, you gotta be comfortable gettin' in close, gettin' messy.

Michonne: I'm damn good.

Randall will remember that.

Randall: I'll bet. Weapon like this, you gotta be comfortable gettin' in close, gettin' messy.

Randall: Weapon like this, you gotta be comfortable gettin' in close, gettin' messy.

Randall: You know, every person we find living...they got some dead with 'em. Who was it for you, I wonder? Mother? Father? Couple sisters, maybe? Not kids... You? (laughs) Oh, man. I wouldn't have guessed that in a million years. So you...you got nothing left to lose. No wonder you're all stoic and shit. But, hell, we all lose people. Can't let it get you down.

Michonne spits in Randall's face.

Randall: Ooh! I hit a nerve. Don't feel bad; I'm a lot like you. No shame in that.

Michonne: You're damn right I've got nothing left to lose. Means I'm not afraid of anything.

Randall: Everyone's afraid of something. Anyone who says otherwise is just lying to themselves.

Michonne: You'd better back the fuck off.

Randall: Ooh! I hit a nerve. Don't feel bad; I'm a lot like you. No shame in that.

Randall: See, we're a lot alike, you and I. No shame in that.

They reach a community of boats.

Randall: Look at that. Here we are. Monroe. Doubt you got a good look last time you were here. Too busy stealing from us to appreciate our little community. Bet you never gave them a second thought. The folks you fucked over.

Sam: It wasn't us!

Randall: What was that?

Michonne: We haven't been here before.

Randall: Save it for Norma.

Michonne: Looks like shit.

Randall will remember that.

Randall: (chuckles) Norma's gonna have a field day with you.

Michonne: People. Lights. Looks like a real community.

Randall: You feeling just the slightest twinge of guilt? It's these people you stole from. And as you can see, none of them have much to spare. Best hope Norma's in a forgiving mood.

Randall: My sister. She's the one in charge here. She'll be just thrilled to see you.

Randall takes off the others' blindfolds. They reach the dock, and everyone gets off the boat.

Dock

Jonas: (hugs Zachary) Zachary. Thank god. (kisses Zachary) You hurt?

Zachary: I'm fine, Jonas. I'm fine.

Randall: Here. Found your missing medicine. (gives medicine to Jonas)

Jonas: Thanks. I'll, uh...get this back to the sick bay.

Jonas leaves, and Zachary turns toward him.

Randall: Hey, your job's not done yet.

Gabby: Come on.

The group walks up to Norma.

Norma: Randall, what's all this? Damn... I hoped I'd never see you again, Samantha.

Sam: Norma, I'm--

Norma: Not a word. Not from you.

Randall: Found them on the ferry. Along with this.

Randall drops the duffel bag on the ground and opens it.

Randall: That one there...

Randall: Michonne.

Randall: She's the one to watch out for.

Norma: That true? You dangerous?

Randall: You don't believe me? I've never been wrong about something like this.

Norma: I think she's more than capable of speaking for herself, Randall. I want to hear it from her.

Michonne: You're calling me dangerous? Who's the one that threatened us? Tied us up?

Norma will remember that.

Norma: I do apologize if my brother's treated you poorly.

Michonne: I've got nothing against you people.

Norma noticed that.

Norma: Good. That'll make this easy.

Michonne: I'm dangerous when I need to be.

Norma will remember that.

Norma: Aren't we all? Though dangerous isn't so bad anymore. You survive if you're dangerous. I can respect that...

Norma noticed that.

Norma: Think you might be right, after all. Though dangerous isn't so bad anymore. You survive if you're dangerous. I can respect that...

Norma: Randall, escort these ladies to the storeroom. Find somewhere comfortable for the other two.

Sam: What? That's my brother!

Randall: Come on.

Norma: You got this under control? (Randall nods)

Greg: Sam!

Sam: Greg, you'll be okay.

Randall: Get moving.

Gabby takes Pete and Greg away. Randall takes Michonne and Sam to the storeroom and attaches the zip ties to the railing.

Storeroom

Michonne: Where are they taking Pete?

Randall: Don't you worry about him.

Sam: What about Greg?

Randall: Looks a bit empty, doesn't it? Like something's missing.

Zachary puts the duffel bag in a locker.

Randall: Luckily, my sister's good at getting answers. She'll find out what you did with the rest of it. And if she doesn't... The two of us are gonna have ourselves a talk.

Sam: I'm not gonna let you do this!

Randall: Keep an eye on her. She's got a knack for starting trouble. Anything goes down and I'm blaming you. And you don't want that, trust me.

Michonne: I don't take orders from you.

Randall: You should reconsider.

Michonne: Nothing's gonna happen down here.

Randall: See that it doesn't.

Michonne: Maybe I let her cause trouble. Then what?

Randall: Then you're stuck with the consequences. And I'm pretty sure you won't like those.

Randall: See you soon.

Randall: I'd say make yourself comfortable...but that's...probably not going to happen.

Randall and Zachary leave.

Sam: We gotta get out of here. They're going to hurt Greg! These people... You don't know what they're capable of.

Michonne: I'm worried about Pete too, okay?

Michonne: Will you be quiet so I can think?

Sam: Fine. You go right ahead.

Michonne: Your brother is gonna be fine.

Sam: You don't know that.

Sam: Fine. Give up.

Sam: I should have never involved my brother in this--and now you... Who knows what they're going to do to him?

Michonne: Why would they hurt Greg if the two of you didn't do anything wrong?

Sam: Because these are not good people!

Michonne: Is Norma right? Did you steal those supplies?

Sam: Well, I didn't steal the duffel bag, if that's what you're asking.

Michonne: You've been here before, right?

Sam: Yeah... I have. I know my way around Monroe. I can lead us out of here.

Sam: There's too much to explain.

Sam: This is my fault. I'm so sorry. I was just trying to protect my family. That's all. I never thought they'd go back to the ferry! I didn't know... It's not gonna be okay...

Michonne: What the hell is going on here?

Sam: I just wanted to use the radio. To reach people... I never expected that Randall would show up there! Not after...

Michonne: You're right. This is on you. And you're gonna tell Norma that.

Sam: She's not gonna believe me.

Michonne: Then you'll have to be convincing.

Sam: She won't listen.

Michonne: No one's to blame but those assholes up there.

Sam: Still, I...I just wanted to use the radio. To reach people... I never expected that Randall would show up there! Not after...

Sam: I was just trying to reach someone on the radio. I never expected that Randall would show up there! Not after...

Sam: (struggles to break free) Ties are too tight. See anything we can cut 'em with? Anything with a sharp edge! Never be able to slip my hand out.

Michonne: Someone really loves their cigs. Same brand that was in the duffel.

Michonne: They took the life vest too. This is why there was nothing left on that ferry. It's all here.

Michonne: Mobjack...like the ferry. These must have come from there.

Michonne: This used to be full?

Sam: How should I know?

Michonne: One of the Mobjack's first aid kits. This is why there was nothing left on that ferry. It's all here.

Michonne: Mobjack...

Sam: It's the name of the ferry.

Michonne: It must've come from there.

Michonne: Grumplefur?

Michonne: Chompy the Dino?

Michonne: Robo?

Sam: Uh...yeah?

Talk to Sam

Michonne: Hey. Sam...

Sam: Are you looking? We gotta find something!

Michonne looks to her right and sees a hallucination of her daughters.

Sam: What...what's going on?

Michonne: I...

Sam: Do you need help? Is there something that I can do?

Michonne: I'm...I'm so sorry...

Sam: It's...fine.

Michonne: Just leave me alone...please...

Sam: I...didn't mean to pry.

Michonne: I...I tried to help you... I...

Sam: I...I know.

Sam: You are very weird. I'm sorry I asked.

Michonne looks at Sam, then back toward the door. Her daughters have disappeared. Sam struggles to break free of the zip ties.

Sam: Come on!

Michonne: If you want to get out of this, I need you to tell me the truth.

Sam: You saw those bodies back at the ferry? That was another group. We traded with them sometimes. Randall killed them all. Everyone, even the kids. Came with his whole crew. And he just...murdered them. They were trying to run away.

Michonne: That son of a bitch.

Sam will remember that.

Sam: Norma told him to. She must have.

Michonne: How do you know? Did you see it happen?

Sam: We were on a supply run. We heard gunshots and screams... We tried to look for survivors, but...

Michonne: Why would you ever go back to the ferry?

Sam: The radio. It was our only chance to reach outside help.

Michonne: That worked out well, didn't it?

Sam: Obviously we were wrong.

Sam: You probably don't believe me, but I heard the screams. The begging...

Michonne: Then they took what was left... That's why this stuff is here.

Sam: That's what they do. They think they own everything on the water. Whatever they find, they take, and if you put up a fight... Well, you know what happens. They just... It's nothing to them.

Michonne: If you fight, they kill you.

Michonne: I saw what Randall did.

Sam: Now do you get it?

Michonne: So? It's not my problem.

Sam: It is your problem.

Sam: They'll kill you without a second thought.

Sam: If there's anyone out there that you care about? Don't tell these people a thing.

Footsteps are heard.

Sam: Someone's coming back. (struggles to break free) The pipe's loose. Just a little more...and I can get free. We have to get out of here.

Michonne: Sam, that's a bad idea.

Sam: Haven't heard a better one.

Michonne: Think about what you're doing. We need a plan.

Sam: This is my plan!

Michonne struggles to break free.

Sam: You with me?

Michonne says nothing.

Sam breaks the pipe.

Sam: This is our chance. Whoever comes through that door, we jump them. We can do this together. It's now or never. What's it gonna be?

Michonne: Worth a shot. Let's do it.

Randall enters the room.

Randall: Quiet down here. Here I was, ready for a fight. Nice work. Kept it together. I'm--

Michonne headbutts Randall and Sam shoulder-slams him. He hits her with his gun, knocking her out.

Randall: Goddamn it!

Michonne dodges as Randall tries to hit her face, but he punches her in the stomach.

Randall: I knew you were dangerous. Come on. Norma wants a word.

Michonne: The time's not right. I'll get us out of here, but not like this. Just wait...and follow my lead.

Sam: Okay. I'm trusting you.

Randall enters the room.

Randall: Quiet down here. Here I was, ready for a fight. Nice work. Kept it together. Which is good, because Norma wants to talk to you. Nothing but a friendly word. C'mon now, I promise.

Sam: What about Greg?

Randall: Well, that's what Norma wants to talk to you about.

Sam: Fine.

Randall takes Michonne out of the storeroom and up to Norma.

Deck

Norma: So...Michonne.

Norma nods at Randall. He gestures toward Norma, and Michonne walks along with her. Randall leaves.

Norma: I overheard your friend call you that.

Norma: That's a great name. Norma? Always wanted to be a Veronica or Gwendolyn when I was a girl. But I've made my peace with it, I suppose. You're lucky, though. You've got a name people remember. Michonne... (chuckles) Damn, that's good. A nice, strong name.

Michonne: Norma's not so bad.

Norma: Eh, who knows? It's a new world. Maybe the name'll make a comeback.

Michonne: You can stop kissing my ass. That's not gonna work with me.

Norma: Sure thing, honey.

Michonne: Can you get to the point?

Norma: Not one for small talk, are you?

Norma and Michonne reach a deck with a dartboard, chairs, and a cooler.

Norma: I'm sorry about all this, but...I just wanna talk. That's all.

Michonne: Then you mind taking these off?

Norma: Sure...once I get to know you better. I know you're angry. But try to consider things from my perspective. (takes drink from cooler) Everything points to you stealing from me, from my people. That puts you and I on opposite sides of the fence. If that's not how you see it, enlighten me. Help me understand. If all goes well...I'd be happy to remove them for you.

Michonne takes a seat.

Michonne: You got the wrong people. We didn't take shit from you.

You told the truth, but it sounds...unlikely...

Norma: Randall believes otherwise. But that doesn't mean I think you're guilty just yet.

Michonne: Just tell me what you want.

You were rude to Norma.

Norma: Now, we're not gonna get along if you keep that up. There's no reason we can't be friendly. No need to be rude now.

Michonne: You want to know me? Let's talk.

Norma: That's what I like to hear.

Norma noticed your silence.

Norma: You know how a conversation works, right? This isn't gonna go too well if you don't hold up your end of it.

Norma: You're gonna help me get to the bottom of things. You do that, and you get to go home.

Norma puts a straw in the drink and offers it to Michonne.

Norma: Go on. Consider it a peace offering. You and I are gonna come to an understanding.

Michonne takes a sip.

Norma: There you go.

Michonne: No, thanks.

Your rudeness is pissing Norma off.

Norma: That's too bad.

Your silence is testing Norma's patience.

Norma: That's too bad.

Norma sits down.

Norma: So tell me...you and Samantha. How long you all been together? Haven't seen you before. But, then, you mighta been lying low. You seem brighter than Samantha.

Michonne: It's only been a few months now.

Norma: A few months, huh...? And what brought you to that ferry?

Michonne: We're not together. I don't know these kids.

Norma: So you say. And what brought you to that ferry?

Michonne: I just met Sam today.

You told the truth, but it sounds...unlikely...

Norma: Really? And what brought you to that ferry?

Norma: Mm. I'm gonna need you to put in just a little effort here. Why don't you tell me how you all ended up on that ferry?

Norma: Seems awfully strange you'd just stumble on it, out there in the middle of the water. It's just a little difficult to wrap my head around.

Norma: Ending up there. Of all places.

Norma: You all ending up there together. At the exact same time.

Michonne: Pete and I picked up a signal on the shortwave. It was coming from the ferry.

Norma: Hey, Zachary!

Zachary walks up the stairs.

Zachary: Yeah?

Norma: Get Janey to take a crew on down to the Mobjack. See if anyone else picked up on this "signal". Bring anyone they find back here. They need help, we'll take care of them. So how about your group...? Are there others?

Norma: Or is it just the four of you?

Michonne: What do you want me to say? We were in the area, saw the ferry. That's what happened.

Your story sounds like bullshit.

Norma: That's not an answer. You keep wasting my time dodging questions, we're gonna have a problem. Maybe I haven't been clear. The only reason you're still sitting here is because I've decided to let you tell me your side of things. I suggest you stop fucking around. Otherwise this is gonna stop being so pleasant. Don't mistake my kindness for stupidity.

Michonne: I'm telling you what I know.

Norma: I have a hard time believing that.

Michonne: So this is the real Norma, huh?

Norma: It is now.

Michonne: You don't want to threaten me.

Norma: No, I don't. But you've put me in a difficult position.

Norma: Alright.

Norma: So here's the deal. You're gonna tell me what I want to hear. How many of you are out there?

You told the truth, but it sounds...unlikely...

Norma: You're gonna have to give me more than that. So how about your group...? Are there others?

Norma: Or is it just the four of you?

Michonne: Our boat ran into some trouble nearby. The ferry was the only thing in sight.

Norma: Your boat, huh? Hey, Zachary!

Zachary walks up the stairs.

Zachary: Yeah?

Norma: Get Janey to take a crew down by the shoreline. See if they can't find this boat she's talkin' about. Bring anyone they find back here. They need help, we'll take care of them. So how about your group...? Are there others?

Norma: Or is it just the four of you?

Your silence is testing Norma's patience.

Norma: I'm losing patience here, Michonne. So I'm gonna need you to start answering my questions.

Norma: So how about your group...? Are there others?

Norma: Or is it just the four of you?

Norma: I need to know who's with you. Can't act on incomplete information.

Michonne: There's nobody else.

Norma: That's interesting.

People who think you are lying get angry...

Norma: Maybe I haven't been clear.

Norma: Look, I don't mean to lose my temper with you. From your side, I'm sure this looks bad. I get that.

You told the truth, but it sounds...unlikely...

Norma: And complete bullshit. Alright, then. I know how this whole thing must look to you. I get it.

Michonne: I'm not telling you shit.

Norma: I'd rethink that strategy, if I were you. Maybe I haven't been clear. The only reason you're still sitting here is because I've decided to let you tell me your side of things. I suggest you drop this attitude of yours. Otherwise this is gonna stop being so pleasant. Don't mistake my kindness for stupidity.

TBC

Michonne: So this is the real Norma, huh?

Norma: It is now.

Michonne: You don't want to threaten me.

Norma: No, I don't. But you've put me in a difficult position.

Norma: Alright.

Norma: Look, I don't mean to lose my temper with you. From your side, I'm sure this looks bad. I get that.

Michonne: There are more of us out there.

Norma: Figured as much. Don't run into that many small groups these days. I know how this whole thing must look to you. I get it.

Norma noticed your silence.

Norma: And here I thought you were gonna cooperate.

Norma: Maybe I haven't been clear. The only reason you're still sitting here is because I've decided to let you tell me your side of things. I suggest you take advantage of the opportunity.

I get that.

Norma: Alright, then. I know how this whole thing must look to you. I get it.

Norma: But there's more to this than you realize.

Norma: Whether you're with them or not, there's something you should know about Samantha.

Norma: Since you just met, there's something you should know about Samantha.

Norma: Samantha really isn't the kind of person you want to get involved with.

Norma: That girl is a natural-born liar. She's good. I'll bet she laid it on thick for you. Said it was all her fault, she's sorry, and won't you please help her escape big, bad Norma. Am I getting warm? Wouldn't be the first time she fed that line to somebody. You almost believed her, didn't you?

Michonne: You haven't exactly proven her wrong. You're the one who grabbed us, locked us up--

Norma: For good reason.

Michonne: Yeah, she said something like that.

Norma: See? I knew she would.

Michonne: She hasn't said anything like that.

Norma: She will.

Michonne says nothing.

Norma: She's lied to us before. Stolen from us before. You can see why I might be just a tad frustrated. I mean, I let her go...no consequences. And now she's stealing from me again. How am I supposed to feel about that?

Michonne: Yeah, that'd frustrate me too.

Norma: I'm glad to hear you say that. Not a lot of good people left, I'm afraid.

Michonne: I don't see how this is my problem.

Norma: You're sitting in this chair in front of me because she made it your problem. That's what she does...drags people down. But that's why I'm talking to you instead of her.

Michonne: She's just a kid. Too young to know any better.

Norma: Yeah. Looks like she fooled you too.

Michonne says nothing.

Norma: There's a fine line between being generous...and being taken advantage of. Everyone deserves a second chance, I believe that. But never a third. Most people will take advantage if you let 'em.

Michonne: Did you give a second chance to Rashid and Vanessa?

Norma: Who?

Michonne: Rashid and Vanessa.

Norma: Never heard of 'em. But if they showed up here, sure, they'd get their chances. I'm trying to protect these people. That's what we do here.

Michonne: You give more chances than most.

Norma: It's not easy. I'm trying to protect these people. That's what we do here.

Michonne: What about those people on the ferry? Children--whole families--executed. How many chances did they get?

Norma: No. We didn't do that. Scavengers killed those children, their families, everyone... Then they took over. So Randall went down there. Gave those murderers justice. Made sure they'd never kill again. That's what we do here. Protect people.

Norma: And nowadays, you let people walk all over you, you die. I'm trying to protect these people. That's what we do here.

Norma: I bring folks in, see that they're fed, clothed, looked after.

Michonne: What about what you take from them? The salvage.

Norma: We need the same things anybody does. We pool our resources. We survive. I'm not telling you anything you don't know.

Zachary walks up to them, carrying a duffel bag.

Norma: No more beating around the bush...

Norma takes the bag and drops it on the floor.

Norma: Where's the rest of my shit?

Norma: Where's the rest of it?

Michonne: What?

Norma: You and those kids were caught with this bag, but there's still much more missing. Where's the rest of it?

Norma: You say you weren't with those kids, but Randall caught you with them. You had this, but there's still much more missing. So, where is the rest of it?

Norma: Bullets and ammunition. Handguns and a couple of rifles. All missing.

Michonne: I've got no fucking clue.

Norma: Of course you don't.

Michonne: It's probably on the ferry.

Norma: Zachary and Cam already did a sweep of the ferry and they didn't find a thing. Where is it?

Michonne: I told you!

Michonne: That's all there was.

Norma: Hell, it didn't just disappear, did it?

Norma groans in exasperation.

Norma: Bring in the kid.

Zachary: What are you--

Norma: Do it.

Zachary leaves.

Norma: Here's how this is gonna work. I know he's not gonna talk to me. His sister's probably filled his head with all kinds of stories. So you'll be asking the questions.

Zachary returns with Greg and Randall.

Greg: Let go of me.

Randall pushes Greg into one of the chairs.

Randall: I guess being a pain in the ass runs in the family.

Norma: Greg, is it? We're just gonna do a little fact-checking, Greg. See if your story squares up.

Greg: There's no way I'm talking to you after what your brother--

Randall punches Greg in the face.

Zachary: Shit, Randall.

Greg: Fuck you.

Randall: You want another one?

Norma: Randall! Come on now. Michonne. Mind asking Greg what I asked you? Go on, now. Ask him.

Michonne: I'm not doing anything for you.

Norma: Well, if that's how you feel.

Randall punches Greg in the face.

Norma: How long you two been running around together?

Michonne: How long have we been together?

Norma: That one you get free. How long you two been running around together?

Greg: A...long time. We're old family friends.

Norma: Huh.

Norma: That's not how Michonne told it. She said you just met.

Norma: That's not how Michonne told it. She said you weren't even together.

Norma: That's not how Michonne told it. She said it's only been a few months.

Norma: Now that's interesting. Michonne didn't answer that one. To be fair, that's on you.

Randall punches Michonne in the face.

Randall: Someone's full of shit.

Norma: It certainly looks that way.

TBC

Michonne: The kid made a mistake.

Greg will remember that.

Norma: He did. He lied to my face.

Randall punches Greg in the face.

Michonne: He's just scared! Leave him be.

Greg will remember that.

Norma: The kid's a liar.

Randall punches Greg in the face.

Michonne: Hey!

Greg will remember that.

Norma: I tell you what. One of you is lying. To my face. If you're not gonna speak up...

Randall punches Greg in the face.

Norma: Okay, let's try again. Michonne? The one about your people. You remember, don't you?

Michonne: Ask him yourself.

Norma: You're startin' to piss me off.

Randall punches Michonne in the face.

Randall: Damn. That one hurt a little.

Norma: How many of you are there?

Michonne: She wanted to know...

Michonne: How many of us are out there?

Michonne: Are there others?

Norma: You're startin' to piss me off.

Randall punches Michonne in the face.

Randall: Damn. That one hurt a little.

Norma: How many of you are there?

Greg doesn't respond, so Randall draws his gun.

Greg: There are...there's more of us. Lots more. Well-armed, too.

Norma: Well, that's disappointing. She said it was just you four.

Greg: It's just us. Us four.

Norma: Well, that's disappointing. She said there were more of you.

Norma: Michonne kept her mouth shut for that one too, so now things have to get a little more interesting.

Norma: Michonne here didn't answer us, so now things have to get a little more interesting.

Randall points the gun at Greg's head.

Zachary: Randall, no!

Greg: Oh, god... Please, I'll tell you whatever you want...

Michonne: Aim that at me! I dare you.

Randall: How about I just shoot him?

Michonne: Put down the fucking gun!

Randall: Yeah, you look real threatening over there tied to that chair.

Michonne: You don't need to use that!

Norma: She's right.

Michonne says nothing.

Greg wets himself.

Norma: Randall. Think you've made your point. Get a towel, Zachary.

Zachary: Leave him alone, okay? He's just a kid.

Randall: Throw him a pity party when we're done. Get the fucking towel.

Zachary leaves.

Norma: He lying again?

Norma: He lying to us?

Norma: I try to be kind. I try to extend my goddamn hospitality...

(If Michonne said Greg was scared or he made a mistake.)

Michonne: He's telling the truth. I'm the one who lied.

Randall hits Michonne with the gun, knocking her out of the chair, then kicks her in the stomach.

Michonne: Greg's lying.

Randall hits Greg with the gun, knocking him out of the chair, then repeatedly punches him.

Michonne: Go fuck yourself.

Randall hits Michonne with the gun, knocking her out of the chair, then kicks her in the stomach.

Norma: And this is the thanks I get.

Randall hits Michonne with the gun, knocking her out of the chair, then kicks her in the stomach.

Zachary returns.

Zachary: Goddamn it, for fuck's sake, Randall!

Zachary helps Michonne/Greg back into the chair.

Zachary: Norma, please. Okay, this isn't working. You're not gonna get what you want this way.

Randall: And what would you fucking suggest? (shoves Zachary) A pat on the head and a lollipop?

Norma: He's got a point, Randall. You took it too far. Like you always do.

Randall: People need a firm hand. You're not gonna get 'em in line by being soft.

Norma: Being smart isn't the same as being soft, Randall. We're not gonna get what we need your way. Zachary and I will figure this out. You go below and get the other fella.

Randall leaves.

Norma: I appreciate you telling the truth, Michonne. (to Greg) You. How you've lived so long in this world, I haven't a clue.

Norma: You make quite the pair of liars. This world just depresses the hell out of me.

Norma: Zachary, a word in private.

Norma and Zachary leave.

Michonne: You okay?

Greg: You okay?

Greg: What do you think? Are they done with us? Or is it gonna get worse? My guess is it's gonna get worse.

Michonne: They'll keep pushing until they get what they want. Or until they kill us.

Greg: I kinda figured. I was just hoping you might tell me something different.

Michonne: Maybe they'd stop if you gave them what they want!

Greg: I would if I had it! No matter how many times I say it--no one believes me.

Michonne: Keep it together, Greg.

Greg: What do you think I'm doing? Even if it didn't look like it.

Greg: Yeah, that's what I thought.

Greg: I can't believe I pissed myself. Seriously, if my little brothers could see me now... I've never done that before. Never. I've never been so scared... I'm not like that--afraid. Fuck.

Michonne: You'd be stupid not to be scared right now.

Greg: You don't look scared. You look like you've seen this a hundred times.

Michonne: I've seen people do a lot worse.

Greg: Yeah, but not me.

Michonne: I'm not gonna tell anyone what happened here.

Greg will remember that.

Greg: Appreciate it. But pretty sure the smell's gonna give it away.

Greg: I always thought I'd be...stronger.

Greg: I knew about the rotters. I mean, I've fought them before. Killed them. It's bad. But...people are worse, aren't they? I didn't know it was this bad. They know what they're doing. They just don't care.

Michonne: People...walkers...makes no difference. You want to keep living? Trust yourself--and no one else.

Greg: Sounds like a fun life.

Michonne: Not everyone is like these people. I've met others...folks who don't kill unless they have to.

Greg: I wish they were here.

Michonne: People are worse. Nothing scares me more than them.

Greg: Yeah... Yeah, I guess.

Michonne says nothing.

Greg will remember that.

Greg: I don't know... Thing is, I say that about people. But... People... Family. They're the only reason to live.

Michonne: What if you don't even have that? I left them behind. My daughters. I didn't know. You lie to yourself to live. So you keep going. But when you stop...

Randall returns with Pete and sits him in a chair.

Pete: Michonne!

Pete: You look rough, kid.

Greg: I'm not a kid.

Pete: Yeah, you are. What'd they do to him?

Michonne: Asked him some questions.

Pete: What did they do to you?

Michonne: Just asked questions.

Randall leaves.

Greg: Is Sam...?

Pete: I haven't seen her...

Greg: Shit...

Pete: How we playing this?

Randall returns.

Randall: Yeah, Michonne. How we playing this? I'm all ears. Any day now. Really.

Michonne: No matter what, they're gonna hurt you.

Randall: That's the least helpful advice I've ever heard.

Michonne: Don't tell them anything, Pete.

Randall: I were him? I wouldn't be taking advice from you.

Michonne: I'll get us out of this.

Randall: And I just cannot wait to see how you do that.

Randall: Cute.

Randall will remember that.

Norma and Zachary return.

Norma: Take care of this.

Randall: Come on. Zachary.

Randall and Zachary take Greg and Michonne away.

Norma: I just have a few questions.

Quarters

A short time later, Randall and Zachary lead Michonne, Greg, and Sam through a hallway.

Randall: I know just where to put you.

Randall opens a door marked "KEEP DOOR SHUT".

Jonas: What the hell?

Randall: Jonas! Haven't you got a patient that needs you?

Jonas: No. You can't just barge in here.

Zachary: Jonas.

Jonas leaves the room, and Randall closes the door.

Randall: See, not everyone here lives in squalor! Jonas and Zachary have the nicest room on the ship. The good doctor deserves it. Gosh, he just works so hard... What is it you do, Zachary? Besides fuck Jonas?

Zachary: Okay, fine. Randall, let's just--

Randall: That's right. You do nothing. You cower and you whine because you don't have the balls to do things that need doing around here.

Michonne: Can we just get this over with?

Randall: What, you feeling sorry for this waste of space?

Michonne: This is how you treat your own people?

Randall: Only when they need it.

Michonne: You gonna take that, Zachary?

Randall: Yeah, Zachary, you gonna take this?

Zachary: Stay out of this.

Randall: Look at you, showing some backbone.

Randall: Y'know, I'm sick of doing everything myself.

Zachary: Look, whatever you're gonna do, Randall--

Randall: No! I'm not gonna do shit. Your fucking uselessness stops now. Time to earn your keep. (gives gun to Zachary) Here, go on. Get them talking.

Randall sits down, and Zachary shakily aims the gun at the group.

Zachary: Where are the rest of the supplies? The bags with the ammo.

Michonne: Hey. Shouldn't keep your finger on the trigger.

Zachary: Don't tell me how to hold a fucking gun.

Randall: I don't know, Zachary. Maybe she does know better than you.

Sam: Please, no one has to get hurt here.

Zachary: Shut up!

Michonne: You're gonna hurt someone.

Randall: Yeah, Zachary.

Zachary: I know what I'm doing.

Randall: Nah, he really doesn't.

Michonne: Then put the gun down.

Michonne: Just because Randall's an asshole doesn't mean you have to be.

Randall: Hey. You gonna take that, Zachary?

Zachary: I'm not like him.

Michonne: Prove it.

Michonne: I'm just trying to help you.

Zachary: Okay, then talk.

Randall: Doesn't look like it's working, does it?

Zachary will remember that.

Randall: I don't think she's taking you very seriously. Come on!

Zachary: I need a location. Now!

Randall: That's it. Careful. Don't get too close to her, now.

Sam: Please--we all need to calm down.

Zachary: Okay. Okay.

Michonne: Get the gun out of my face.

Michonne: Just take a deep breath, okay? Talk to us.

Zachary: I'll stay calm if you do.

Michonne: If I knew where your ammo was, I would tell you.

Zachary: Um, I--

Michonne says nothing.

Randall: Hey, who's in charge here? You or her? Huh?

Sam: You want answers? Talk to me!

Sam takes a step forward and knocks down a mirror, shattering it.

Zachary: Stop! Stop! Don't move!

Greg: Sam!

Sam: Greg, don't. It's okay.

Randall: You think this is okay? Get it together, Zachary!

Greg: Stop!

Randall: What are you waiting for?

Michonne: We don't have to be enemies. You don't have to do this!

Zachary: I know, but--

Michonne: Tell Randall to leave! Then we can talk all you want, okay?

Michonne: Leave her alone! You wanna threaten someone, threaten me.

Sam: Please! Let them go.

Randall: Last chance, Zachary! Fucking do something!

Greg: Stop!

Greg steps in front of Sam, and Zachary accidentally shoots him in the stomach.

Randall: Damn it, Zachary! Now who's taking things too far?

Randall grabs the gun out of Zachary's hands.

Zachary: I didn't... I didn't--

Randall: Outside. Now.

Randall and Zachary leave the room.

Sam: No, no, no. Greg!

Greg: Sam?

Greg collapses.

Sam: I can't--we have to get out of these! We have to help him!

Greg: Sam...?

Sam: Oh, god, Greg...

Greg: I've never been so scared...

Sam's Comments

Sam: Please help me!

Sam: Please...

Sam: Don't--don't try to move!

Michonne: It's getting worse.

Michonne: Someone's shirt. Could slow down the bleeding...

Michonne: Sharp. This could work.

Michonne uses the broken mirror to cut through her zip ties, and Sam does the same. Michonne picks up the shirt and decides to lay Greg down.

Michonne: We need to lay him down.

Sam helps Greg lie down.

Michonne: I'll find something to stop the bleeding.

Sam: It's gonna be okay, Greg.

Greg: I don't think it is.

Sam: Don't say that!

Sam's Comments

Sam: We'll fix you!

Sam: Come on, stay with me.

Michonne picks up the shirt.

Michonne presses the shirt against his injury.

Sam: Come on, Greg! C'mon, don't do this. Please don't do this. Think of Alex! You're his hero! What will he do without you?

Greg: Not a...very good hero.

Sam: No, you are...you are, Greg. Please hang on.

Greg dies.

Michonne: He's gone. He's going to turn, Sam.

Sam: He's gonna... He's gonna become one of them.

Michonne: It happens fast. We don't have a lot of time.

Sam: Oh, god...

Michonne: I'm so sorry, Sam.

Sam: Oh, god...

Michonne: Everyone turns. Always. You need to be ready.

Sam: Oh, god...

Michonne: I'm gonna need your help.

Sam: I can't...I can't... I just need another second...please. Not yet. I can't let you go yet. Greg... I love you.

Michonne puts her hand on Sam's shoulder.

Sam will remember that.

Sam: Get off me! I just-- I just need more time.

Michonne: I know he looks like your brother. But it's not him. Not anymore.

Sam will remember that.

Sam: I just need more time.

Michonne: We need to take care of this. End it.

Sam: I can't. I just need more time.

Sam: I just need more time.

Greg reanimates and lunges at Sam.

Sam: No! Greg, please... Greg...

Michonne pulls a loose pipe off the wall or picks up a screwdriver.

Michonne: Hold him down!

Sam: (holds Greg down) I'm so sorry, Greg.

Michonne repeatedly stabs Greg in the eye or bashes him in the face until he dies. Zachary enters the room.

Zachary: What the fuck?

Michonne punches Zachary, making him drop the gun, and Sam picks it up.

Sam grabs the gun from Zachary.

Sam points the gun at Zachary, and he raises his hands.

Zachary: What happened to him?

Sam: You fucking shot him!

Zachary: I didn't mean to.

Sam: Do you think that matters? You killed him!

Zachary: It was an accident, I swear, okay--I swear! Please...lower... Please lower the gun! I'll explain everything!

Michonne: Sam, put the gun down.

Sam: Why? He's a murderer!

Michonne: Calm down, Sam.

Zachary: Please...

Michonne: We should hear him out.

Sam: Why? He's a murderer!

Zachary: Please...

Michonne: You're full of shit.

Zachary: Just give me a chance, please!

Zachary: Please...

Sam: You're not leaving this room, you son of a bitch! I mean it, Michonne. This bastard killed my brother. You know he has to die.

Zachary: Please... Please don't, don't, don't do this. Please...

Sam shoots Zachary until she runs out of ammo, then drops the gun.

Michonne: We're not out of this yet. (picks up screwdriver/pipe) They're coming.

Michonne tackles Sam as she fires, making her miss. Sam grabs the gun and points it at Zachary, but Michonne slams her hand down, making her drop the gun again. Zachary picks up the gun.
