Jack Kipling is an antagonist and a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's Fear The Walking Dead. He is a member of Connor's pirates.

Pre-Apocalypse

Location Unknown

Nothing is known about his life before the outbreak. He claims he had a girlfriend named Alison, that he had a married brother and thus a sister-in-law. However, his credibility should be severely doubted as it is part of his job to reel in unsuspecting boats.

Post-Apocalypse

According to Jack, when his brother died following the start of the outbreak, he was saved by Connor and joined his pirates as he felt obligated to him. Jack's job amongst the pirates was to reel in unsuspecting boats using what he claimed were versions of the truth about what had happened to him.

Season 2

"Monster"

While Alicia is listening to the radio in Victor Strand's yacht The Abigail, she hears Jack's insistent calls for someone's reply. She eventually provides hers.

Jack is at first agreeable and shows both caution and understanding that Alicia, too, must be careful about who to trust and what to reveal. But as time passes Alicia begins to open herself up and, motivated by Jack's report that his own boat is damaged and beginning to sink, ends up revealing enough information to allow Jack to pinpoint Abigail's location. When Alicia contacts Jack again to ask for his forgiveness about Victor's refusal to rescue them, Jack responds telling Alicia "It's okay, I got you. I'll see you soon", implying that he is headed in the direction of The Abigail.

"Blood in the Streets"

As Chris and Ofelia chat on the deck, Jack approaches the yacht in a raft with Reed and an injured Vida. After they climb on board, they quickly hold the occupants hostage. While on board, Jack spends most of his time with Alicia, displaying some affection and concerns for her well-being. He admits his collaboration with Connor's crew but claims he was being truthful to Alicia about the things he said over the radio, including about his girlfriend, Alison. He leaves The Abigail with Connor, Vida, Alicia, and Travis back to their base of operations.

"Captive"

Jack spends time with Alicia on the bridge and teaches her how to read the radar for other ships in the area. He tells her to log every ship she encounters and record their bearings, stating that Connor and his men target the smaller ships that can be easily conquered. After Alicia displays her worry for her family, he agrees to escape Connor's boat with Alicia to find her family. However, after Alicia see Madison and Travis fighting back against the pirates during the hostage exchange, she chooses to leave Jack to rendezvous with her mother, leaving Jack shocked and upset, condemning her family for abandoning Alex in the ocean. His fate is currently unknown.
