The group discusses if Jun-Hyuk's Group ever made it to America, with all of them doubting they did. They also question each other why they didn't go, with Yi-Rang saying she doesn't know the US like she does South Korea and Jin-Tae stating he didn't trust Ju-Seob. Once they get back to their hideout, Jin-Tae states that they should consider leaving the area as there aren't enough supplies around anymore and the increased presence of the undead, something Yi-Rang agrees with. Yi-Rang states that they should take the Olympic Highway up to Ganghwa Island, thinking that it'll be much safer there. Jin-Tae agrees and decides to scout the area up to the Han River make sure that the roads leading that way are safe.
Chapter 42 - Eviction Notice[]
Jin-Tae comes back from his scouting mission and states that the area is surrounded by the undead. He also urges that they leave the hideout soon as the undead are about to break in. Suddenly, the hideout is invaded by the undead. Yi-Rang orders Jin-Tae and Jin-Ah to grab as much supplies as they can before they leave. Eventually the trio makes it out alive of the hideout. Suddenly Jin-Ah states that she can't go with them to Ganghwa Island as she needs to find her parents who live in Hwagok. Although Yi-Rang and Jin-Tae try to talk her out of it, Jin-Ah is dead set on finding her parents. They say that Jin-Ah should stick with them and travel down Olympic Highway until they reach Hwagok where they can split up.
Chapter 43 - Standing At A Crossroads[]
The trio reaches the outer limits of Hwagok, and although Jin-Ah is ready to split up from the group, both Yi-Rang and Jin-Tae agree to stick by her side to search for her parents. Eventually they reach her old home and notice some rope sticking out from one of the building's windows, indicating someone had tried to escape at some point. Once they reach the front door of Jin-Ah's House, Jin-Tae goes inside first to make sure it's safe. There, they discover a cache of food and water and a note for Jin-Ah stating that her parents and the next door neighbors all went to Ganghwa Island as it would be safer. Jin-Ah assumes they went there as her dad would often go to the island. Jin-Tae is amazed by their luck. Yi-Rang states that they'll rest at Jin-Ah's home for a few days to get their energy back up before heading out to the island.
