Jody is an antagonist and survivor of the outbreak in AMC's The Walking Dead. He is a younger resident of Woodbury.
Pre-Apocalypse
Location Unknown
Nothing is known about Jody's life before or as the outbreak began. It is possible that he used to live in or near Woodbury before the outbreak.
Post-Apocalypse
Nothing is known about Jody's life after the outbreak. Except that he had taken shelter in Woodbury and enlisted in the Governor's army to fight Rick Grimes's group at the prison.
Season 3
"Welcome to the Tombs"
Jody is seen as part of the Governor's army, in which they assault the prison. He enters the prison's tombs and after being fired on and nearly attacked by zombies, he flees outside. Jody runs into the woods where Carl Grimes, Hershel Greene, and Beth Greene are hiding. When he encounters them, he is commanded to drop the weapon by Hershel. Jody agrees, and begins to slowly lower his 12 gauge Remington 870 shotgun, while faintly leaning forward. He is suddenly shot in the head by Carl with his 9mm Beretta 92FS pistol. Later on, Carl explains to his father Rick why he murdered Jody, claiming that it was for the safety of the group, using Dale Horvath's, Merle Dixon's, and his mother Lori's deaths as examples of ones that could have been prevented by killing beforehand.
Death
Killed By
After fleeing the ambush at the prison, he runs into the woods where he comes across Hershel, Beth, and Carl. He is told by Hershel to drop his gun, but Jody instead starts to step towards Carl and says he'll hand over the gun and Carl shoots and kills Jody for disobeying. Carl later explains to his father that he killed Jody because he may have come back and killed someone, just like how Rick did not kill Andrew, who later returned and caused the deaths of T-Dog and Lori, or the Governor who later killed Merle. When Rick asks Hershel for clarification on his son's actions, he replies by saying the boy had surrendered peacefully.
