You found the convoy vehicles, but no soldiers? Strange-maybe you 'outta take another look.
―Joe to Hero Player.

Joe "The Mechanic" is an original character from The Walking Dead Social Game.

Pre-Apocalypse

Location Unknown

Almost nothing is known about Joe's life before or as the outbreak began, apart from that he was employed as a mechanic.

Post-Apocalypse

"The Outbreak Begins"

The hero character is sent out to search for and rescue Joe. After being brought back to camp, he expresses his joy from being in a group and meeting a bunch of new survivors. Joe is trying to make the camp better, but states that he doesn't like how everyone listens to Shane, expressing similar thoughts to Greg. He states that he loves how everyone is looking after Summer, and that if he had a daughter, he'd want her to be like Summer. He dreamily ponders the fact about how the car pileup blocking the road would've made big money for him before the apocalypse. He has no clue on about how the apocalypse started, and asks the player's opinion. He dreams of having a garage to properly work on the group's vehicles, stating that with the right tools, he could repair them and get them running. Repairing cars helps Joe relax, a sort of meditation for him. He also wants a quiet place to hunker down and wait the epidemic out, although he might stay behind when the group finally goes to Atlanta. After sending the player to look for the military convoy, he found it deserted. A desperate Joe later sends the player a second time. After Jon's death, he expresses concern about Summer's future, and claims he might want to stay behind and take care of her. Before leaving the camp, Joe proclaims he is going to stay behind and attempt to find Summer, who had ran away from the camp. With this Joe bids the hero player, Ed, Kara, and Greg good luck and earges them to leave hastily as he spots a small herd heading their way. He is never seen after this, leaving his status unknown.

"Fight or Flight"

In chapter 3, Kara mentions Joe and Summer if they made the right choice by leaving them behind at the highway camp. She also wonders if he ever found her.
