This article is about the TV Series character. You may be looking for her Comic Series or Road to Survival counterparts.

I'm not a bad person... I want you to know that. And you had every reason not to trust me. It's so hard to take a chance on people in this world... and when those people lie to you, well... (...) I blew it. I know. And I'm sorry. I guess... I wish I had done things better. But I guess my people skills are pretty rusty.
―Juanita apologizing to Yumiko.[src]

Juanita Sanchez, more commonly known as "Princess", is a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's The Walking Dead. She is a good-natured and energetic lone survivor encountered by Eugene Porter, Ezekiel, and Yumiko, who soon allow her to join them on their mission.

Overview

As she hasn't had much interaction with other people for some time, Juanita comes off as quite foolish, yet intriguing to the members of the expedition. She admits that she's been on her own for over a year, and 'it totally sucks', even questioning at first if the trio were actually real or just hallucinations. Regardless, Juanita is open to try and build trust with the survivors.

Juanita comes off as extremely talkative and easy-going. She is willing to make jokes at any given moment, despite the severity of the situation.

Juanita also appears to be very childish, as she dyed her hair purple and chose to wear a pink fur jacket and goggles, just for fun. She also gave herself the nickname "Princess" and states that being called a "Queen" would make her sound old and pretentious. Regardless of her happy-go-lucky nature, she can be taken seriously in combat and is able to mow down walkers easily.

Pre-Apocalypse

Location Unknown

Not much is known about Juanita's life prior to or as the outbreak began, but from her own words, Juanita described herself as being a lonely and socially awkward individual, who never had any real friends, and was once told that she was "hard to love" by someone, possibly a family member.

Post-Apocalypse

Unspecified Mid-Atlantic City

At some point in the apocalypse, Juanita settled into an abandoned city in the mid-Atlantic area, mostly cleared of the undead where she found entertainment in posing walkers in strange positions that resembled everyday life with exaggerated clothing. She recalls that the last time she encountered another survivor was a year prior to meeting Eugene, Ezekiel, and Yumiko.

Season 10

"Look at the Flowers"

Upon arriving in an abandoned city while en-route to meet Stephanie, Eugene, Ezekiel, and Yumiko come across multiple walkers strangely posed doing regular things, such as two walkers appearing to have a tea party and a walker dressed in a police uniform giving a ticket, set up by Juanita. After hearing Ezekiel laugh in reaction to one of her setups, Juanita comes face to face with the three, reacting with extreme excitement at the sight of other survivors.

"The Tower"

"A Certain Doom"

Relationships

Ezekiel

Following their introduction, Juanita and Ezekiel are friendly towards one another. However, Ezekiel begins to share Yumiko's concerns about Juanita's motives after she leads them through a minefield on their venture to recover "wheels" for their journey. Despite these difficulties, she successfully leads the group to an abandoned garage and reveals a stash of bikes, relieving Ezekiel.

Yumiko

Juanita and Yumiko's relationship starts off very poorly. Juanita accidentally scares off their horses in an attempt to impress Eugene's expedition crew with her ability to fend off walkers, angering Yumiko. Juanita promises to help them recover stashed "wheels" for their journey, but Yumiko is skeptical. Yumiko warns her companions that Juanita's wild behavior made her dangerous and untrustworthy, but agrees to temporarily travel with her to recover means of transportation. After Juanita's navigation leads them through a small minefield, Yumiko is furious, but continues to follow Juanita after she successfully leads the crew to safety. When Eugene discovers that Juanita has led them in a circle, Eugene frightens her into revealing she just wanted to enjoy their company while she could and that she feared being alone. Juanita then reveals a large stash of bicycles in an abandoned garage, surprising Yumiko and the others. Yumiko begins to trust Juanita and invites her on their journey to meet Stephanie.

Eugene Porter

Juanita and Eugene are initially friendly towards one another, however once Eugene believe Juanita is lying to him and his group about having a stash of "wheels", Juanita admits to only wanting their company and fearing being alone. Eugene, who previously deceived his fellow survivors on account of self-perceived uselessness and fear of abandonment, relates to her trouble and warmly informs her that he understands.
