Daryl visits the boat at Costa da Morte with Roberto and Valentina. Valentina, a former cruise ship captain, notes a hole in the hull below the waterline from hitting the rocks which must be repaired before the boat can set sail again. Valentina also discovers that the rudder is damaged and must be replaced, directing Daryl and Roberto to a Galicia Boatyard to try to find a replacement.
On the beach, Valentina continues to teach Carol about using an astrolabe to navigate as well as helping her to learn Spanish while Antonio works on the boat.
The night before Daryl, Carol, Antonio, Roberto and Justina are to set sail, the vengefulFede confronts Daryl, intending to kill him. In the melee that follows, Fede's gun goes off and starts a fire on the boat that sets off a series of explosions, destroying it. The boat's destruction is witnessed from a distance by Stéphane Codron.
