Two days after the Endlings leave for New York, Kallenbach is among the Campus Colony residents murdered in the massacre carried out by the Civic Republic Military.

In a flashback, Hope mentions that she had been waiting for hours outside Principal Kallenbach's office after letting off some stink bombs in the high school.

Due to statistics stating that the community would be a drain on their resources, Elizabeth's superiors ordered an attack on Campus Colony and the complete extermination of its inhabitants. They bombed the safe-zone with chlorine bombs and then allowed the safe-zone to be overrun by the undead and shot any survivors afterwards.
