Kerry's son is among those to evacuate to the underground pantry with his family. When Alicia addresses the crowd regarding those bitten, he is sitting with his mother when she stands up to sacrifice herself. Later, her son is among the survivors to pass out due to the lack of air and eventually dies or is killed by the reanimated residents.
