Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture is a location that appears in The Walking Dead: All-Stars. It is the capital city of the Kyoto Prefecture.

Pre-Apocalypse

Kyoto was the capital of the Kyoto Prefecture as well as being the historic imperial capital of Japan from 794 up until 1869, having been the scene of the Ōnin War, the Honnō-ji Incident, the Kinmon incident, and the Battle of Toba–Fushimi. Being a major tourist destination, Kyoto was considered the cultural capital of Japan and also was where Nintendo was based. A lot of it's shrines, Buddhist temples and gardens were designated UNSECO world heritage sites. It had 2.6 million people as of 2003.

Post-Apocalypse

Not much is known about Kyoto when the Trials begun though it can be assumed the Kyoto Police Department were the first to respond followed by the Japanese Self Defense Force (JSDF) if and when a state of emergency was declared before the city, like the rest of the country, became overrun.

After Miho's escapes from possible harm at the hands of another survivor, She eventually reaches the Kiyomizu Temple and starts looking for supplies before reminiscing about life before the apocalypse. Miho eventually forms a group with Ryohei and Kaori; however they both die when the temple is invaded by the dead.

Souta's Group eventually reaches the temple where they recruit Miho. Afterwards the group heads to Nara for safety.
