A Walker is celebrating his 14th birthday. He talks about how his mother got him some new shoes, but that he would've preferred it had they not come with feet inside them. Some time later, he goes to play with his friends Bill and Duane, the latter of which had hung themselves over a river. Later on, his mother states that he need to take his 12 year old sister Kyra out to hunt for "Normos" near Alexandria. Before doing so, he and Bill try to get Duane off of the tree, but they only end up decapitating him. The Walker, Kyra, and Bill go to Alexandria; however they just barely escape with their undead lives, something his mom later blames him for.
