Leland is a main character and a survivor of the outbreak in The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series. He is the deuteragonist of "Bonnie's Story". He is the husband of Dee, but their relationship is tense as he can determinately cheat on her with Bonnie.
Overview[]
Leland is a well-mannered, friendly, and considerate man. He is very supportive of his friend, Bonnie, and often jokes around with her. However, he seems to be a somewhat unfaithful husband to his wife, Dee, and can potentially get into an affair with Bonnie. Dee states that she and Leland fight and argue all the time and Leland will always take Bonnie's side. Despite this, Leland does still care greatly for Dee. After Bonnie accidentally kills Dee, Leland is shown to be devastated by her death. Depending on the player's choice, Leland can either go with Bonnie or stay by Dee despite knowing he will be caught and killed.
Pre-Apocalypse[]
Unknown Location[]
Nothing is known about Leland's life prior to or as the outbreak began, except that he had a Wife, Dee, and hated fishing.

"Bonnie's Story"[]
Two hundred and twenty days since the outbreak began, Leland was travelling by a cornfield with Bonnie and Dee. Bonnie's story starts off with Leland flirting with Bonnie while talking, mentioning that he and Dee found Bonnie while she was using drugs, they helped her to deal with it. After Dee shows up, Leland and Dee start arguing. This causes Bonnie, Leland and Dee to get attacked by Stephanie, Clive, and Roman because Dee stole supplies from them. While running away, Bonnie gets shot. Leland was trying to help her but Dee convinces him to run away into a cornfield. After Bonnie accidentally hit Dee, Leland shows up and asks Bonnie what happened. Depending on what Bonnie answers Leland will believe her or not. This will decide if Leland leaves with Bonnie or stays with Dee.
In-Game Decision[]
Leland stays behind (Dead): If Bonnie admits what she did to Dee and shows no remorse for it, or fails to convincingly lie to Leland, Leland decides to stay behind with her body. As Bonnie flees, a shot can be heard. His lifeless corpse can then be seen beside Dee during the credits, with Roman looking on.
Leland leaves with Bonnie (Unknown): If Bonnie lies to Leland about what happened, or tells the truth and shows remorse for what she did, Leland agrees to leave with Bonnie. He stops to grab the bag that Dee stole, saying, "If she's going to die for this thing, I for damn sure ain't leavin' it behind." before they escape from Roman's group. If Leland chooses to leave with Bonnie, he presumably joins with the group of survivors at the campsite for a time before leaving them, as some of them know who he is. If Bonnie lied to Leland, Becca implies that the rest of the group (and presumably Leland) eventually found out about it prior to Tavia's arrival. Leland's fate is left unknown.
Death (Determinant)[]
- Killed By
Dee steals from Roman's group at Gil's Pitstop, provoking them to chase her and her group. When Leland finds Dee dead, he questions Bonnie about what had happened. She either remorselessly admits to killing her or unconvincingly lies to him, leading to Leland refusing to go with her. Bonnie leaves Leland behind to mourn over his wife's corpse as Roman's group closes in on him. It is confirmed in the credits that Leland was killed by Roman.
Killed Victims[]

Quotes[]
The following is a list of some of Leland's most memorable quotes.
400 Days"Okay, got one. A snake for a tongue-- (…) Would you rather have a snake for a tongue-- (…) --or lobster claws for hands? (…) You know the rules, miss. You gotta answer." "Weirdo. (…) All I'm sayin' is, good luck findin' a man if you have lobster hands." "Gross. (…) Well, for one, it's in your mouth." "That's not really an answer. (…) Well, that's a fact." "Both?! The whole point of the game is to choose! ("But they're both such attractive options.") You got me there." "Okay, how about... well, never mind, I prolly oughta stop bugging you with stupid hypotheticals. (…) You've been a lot more fun lately. Feelin' better? (…) Well, you sure do look better. Though you gotta admit, anything is an improvement. That came out wrong... what I mean is... I mean... You were... you were, uh... you know. ("Take a hike, big ears.") I resemble that remark. (…) Ya know, you weren't so damn sassy before. Guess that's a good sign." "Look. You know I ain't goin' nowhere, right? Long as we're together, I'll be there for you. You ain't gotta worry. You know that, right? Bonnie--" "Well, fishin'. Figured it'd be worth a shot, for the food, ya know? ("Leland, you hate fishin'.")That ain't totally true-- (…) What? I go fishin' all the time. Caught you, didn't I?" "Aw, you shouldn't have! What did you find? (…) So... where'd you get the bag, Dee? Dee? Dee! Did you hear me? (…) Not to interrupt the girl talk here, but, Dee... that bag-- ("I found it down the road.") Where down the road? (…) Damn it, Dee, you gotta give us more than that. (…) Dee, Bonnie's right; if you stole that bag, we need to know. Don't gotta make no big deal out of it." "Irregardless, we could just as easy carry on like this while we're walkin'. (…) "Attitude"? (…) I know you did that on purpose! (…) I asked you not to blaspheme! ("I can't believe you're still religious after all we've been through!") MY faith ain't something I wear like a fuckin' sweater! I don't just take it off when it gets uncomfortable!" "Enough, Dee. She's right. We're actin' like a couple kids." "Don't leave, please. We can sort this out. (…) We'll straighten this out; we will. Right, Dee? We can solve this out, we just need to get somewhere else. (…) Bonnie, darlin', I'm sorry we're-- ("Darlin'!?") Dee, come on--" "Dee? Dee, did ya find her? Bonnie, I thought they'd gotcha back there! Jesus, are you shot? (sees Dee's corpse) Dee, oh, God! What happened? Oh, Jesus, oh, Lord, Bonnie, what happened? Oh, my God, Dee. Darlin', what happened to you? Your face. Her face, Bonnie!" "How did this happen? Why didn't you wait for me? She deserves a proper burial. We can't just leave her here in a fuckin'... cornfield! Can't leave her like this. Help me move her. Bonnie, please. Goddamn it, I know there ain't time, but... Okay. Oh, God, okay... we'll... I don't... You got anything to say to her?" "What? What do you mean? Bonnie? What was that you just said? (…) You did this? You did this to my Dee? (…) I don't... I don't believe this. I don't understand... How did it happen? I just don't... Bonnie, why? (…) Jesus... I believe ya, but... oh, God... I... I feel sick." "Sure as hell didn't sound like nothin'. Sounded like you said you did this. (…) I don't buy it, Bonnie... I don't buy it at all." "WHAT? "What's done is done"? That's all you have to say?" "I... I feel sick. (…) I ain't leavin' her." "I'm sorry to... do this to ya, darlin'... leave ya here this way." "If she's gonna die for this thing, I for damn sure ain't leavin' it behind." |
